Getting Over Thomas

last update publish date: 2026-05-14 01:55:59

An hour later, I was standing in front of her full-length mirror. I had a short tight fighting black dress that ended mid-thigh, a slit on the side went to my hip. Black heels. My brown hair she had dried and picked out, letting my natural curls come out resting down my back. She did my make-up in the smokey-eye look that made my silver blue eyes pop.

I barely recognized myself. Lilly came to stand next to me, her dress matching mine but red with red heels. Her red hair pinned in a half width pony tail and her make-up smoky eyes with red lipstick. “Look at you!” She said with a smile. “You look absolutely stunning,” she said, grabbing my hand and twisting me around. “Let’s go,” she said, pulling me out of her room, down the steps and outside to her car.

It didn’t take us long, and we pulled up to an underground club. We could hear music from the outside. Reaching into her purse, lilly pulled out two fake IDs, handing me one of them. It had my photo from my license on it. “Lilly, that’s my face,” I said, looking at it. “Yeah, I had them made like forever ago!" She laughed.

"I was just waiting to get you to come out with me. I knew I'd eventually wear you down enough to get you to come out with me” she said, chuckling.  I looked at the ID, then the entrance. Do I really want to do this? Not only is it illegal for me to drink right now, but what if the cops raid this place? I contemplated a moment longer and then I heard it a whisper in the back of my head telling me,  “fuck it, let’s do it! We need fun too.”

"It is only for a night, which is the worst thing that could happen," the voice said. It was a whispering voice. It did not really sound like me, but who else could it be? So I blamed it on emotional distress from Thomas. I said, “Screw it.” I nodded at Lilly. She'd been waiting to see if I was ready to get out. I inhaled deeply before getting out of the car.

We used the ID’s and got through the door without any issues. The music was loud, the lights low and flashing a different multitude of colors, The base of the music vibrating in our chests. I had never seen a club before now. The club was full of people dancing, talking and drinking. Couples were huddled in the corners making out. I diverted my eyes and kept up with Lily.

Lilly and I made our way to the bar. "What will it be, ladies?" the bartender asked us. She ordered a jack and Coke. I wasn't sure what to get so I looked at the different available drinks. "I will take one of the liquid cocaine’s," I told him. He smiled and turned around to make my drink for me. It was a mix of all kinds of different types of alcohol.

“Be careful with them, Aurora,” Lilly warned. “You’ll drink one, then end up getting a second or third one, and before you know it you wake up the next morning, sideways in your bed, not knowing how you got home or what happened the night before” she said laughing.

I smiled and nodded my head in understanding.” That’s the point, right?” I said, winking at her and tipping the glass to my lips. It was fruity and did not actually have the burn of any kind of alcohol. I drank my first one and ordered another.  Lilly stood by a slight smile playing on her lips.

“Indeed it is,” she said, lifting her glass of rum and coke to her lips, amusement playing in her eyes.  I took a sip from my second one, remembering her warning about multiple drinks. Before I knew it, we were on the dance floor dancing together. I went to take a drink of my drink and my second drink was gone. I held my empty cup up for Lilly to see making my way back to the bar.

I ordered another. The other bartender was busy, so the next one came to help me. This bartender sent my Gaydar into overdrive. He wore loop earrings in one ear, dark eyeliner, no facial hair. His eyes glowed green, They were beautiful but most certainly inhumanly green contacts.

He had a beautiful white smile and his K-9 teeth were more pronounced. His black dress shirt was tucked into his black slacks. The shirt opened half way, exposing his chest. He was mixed, His dark tan skin looked smooth and shiny with sweat, as soon as he opened his mouth, it was confirmed.

"Hey Honey, you may want to slow down on these things! They may taste good, but these damn things will sneak up on you and hit your fine ass like a Mack truck." he said his voice was very flamboyant. He was sweet. His warning made me smile. Despite him warning me he still handed me my third liquid cocaine. Leaning over the bar I yelled to the man.

"My boyfriend of almost 3 years cheated on me and my best friend over there is trying to help me get over him. And these drinks are supposed to do just that" I said. My head was a bit woozy. I could feel the effects of the alcohol kicking in, but it was not overpowering yet and I planned to drink until it did. Landing sideways in my bed tonight is exactly what I needed.

"Well, he was stupid, and you are a gorgeous woman” he said leaning in to me taking my free hand. He gently pulled me closer to him, his eyes locked on mine.  “Enjoy yourself, honey, you only live one life and you never.." he said. Leaning closer to me so he could speak into my ear.

"Know what life has in store for you: the adventures and the love I can see your future holds. It will be one of a kind." He smiled at me and leaned back as I stared at him blankly. He released my hand and away to serve other people. Shaking my head, a smile playing on my lips, I returned to Lily on the dance floor.

  • The Lycan Prince's True Luna Queen   Epilogue — The Future We Fought For Part Two

Aurora’s POVThe sound of footsteps approaching through the garden path pulled me from the quiet moment between Damon and me. I already knew who it was before I turned. Our bond had always been strong, but motherhood had changed something inside me. I could feel Thea before I saw her.Her joy. Her excitement. Her endless curiosity. Our daughter had inherited many things from both of us. My magic. Damon’s stubbornness. His determination. My inability to give up on anyone. And somehow, despite only being four years old, she had already mastered the art of making an entire kingdom revolve around her. I smiled."She's coming."Damon immediately straightened. The terrifying king who had faced gods disappeared. The warrior who had stood against armies vanished. In his place was simply a father waiting for his little girl. I had to fight the urge to laugh."You know she is only going to run into your arms.""I know.""You are acting like you are preparing for battle."He looked at me serious

  • The Lycan Prince's True Luna Queen   Epilogue — The Future We Fought For Part One

Aurora’s POVThere was a time when I believed peace was something fragile. Something temporary. Something that could disappear the moment you allowed yourself to believe in it. I had spent so much of my life preparing for the next loss that I never truly understood how to accept happiness when it finally arrived. But now...Now I sat in the gardens of Veiled Valley beneath a warm afternoon sun, surrounded by flowers that Damon had planted himself, listening to the quiet sounds of our kingdom living beyond the castle walls. Children laughing. Warriors training. Families gathering. Life. Real, ordinary, beautiful life. And I was still sometimes amazed that we had made it here. Four years. It had been four years since Lucian had been sealed away beneath the earth. Four years since the world had nearly ended. Four years since we had stood together against a god who believed love was a weakness. And four years since we proved him wrong. The garden had become my favorite place in the kingdo

  • The Lycan Prince's True Luna Queen   The Prison of Moonlight

Damon’s POVThe sky broke. There was no other way to describe it. One moment, Veiled Valley stood beneath the moonlight, the kingdom we had fought so hard to rebuild standing strong against the coming darkness. The next…The heavens themselves seemed to split apart. Black cracks spread across the sky like wounds, and from those wounds poured the power of something ancient.Something that had existed before kingdoms. Before wars. Before any of us had ever drawn breath. Lucian stepped forward from the darkness. Not as a shadow. Not as a whisper. Not as a voice inside my mind. He came as a god. The pressure of his presence forced warriors to their knees. The ground beneath us trembled. The stone walls surrounding Veiled Valley groaned under the weight of his power. And still… I stood. Aurora stood beside me. That was the difference. For the first time since this began, Lucian was not fighting the broken parts of me. He was fighting the whole of me.“You look disappointed.”Lucian’s voice

  • The Lycan Prince's True Luna Queen   When the Darkness Arrives

Damon’s POVThe first night without Thea was the hardest. I didn't expect it to be. I had spent years as a warrior. I had spent months away from home during campaigns. I had slept on battlefields, in forests, and beneath skies filled with enemies waiting for the right moment to attack. But none of those moments compared to walking past my daughter's room and seeing the empty bed. I stood in the doorway longer than I should have. Her little blanket was still folded where Aurora had placed it that morning. A small toy sat near the edge of the bed, abandoned because Thea had decided something else was more interesting. A normal thing. A simple thing. And somehow, it hurt more than any wound I had ever received. Aurora found me there. She didn't say anything at first. She simply walked beside me and leaned against the doorframe."You're thinking about bringing her back."I looked at her. "Is it that obvious?" She gave me a small smile. "To me? Yes." I looked back into the room. "I know

  • The Lycan Prince's True Luna Queen   The Choice Between Hearts

Claire’s POVThe moment the darkness touched the horizon, I knew. My magic screamed and my bones ached for a disbursement of it. I had spent my entire life sensing things others couldn't. Not because I was stronger. Not because I was more powerful. Because I listened. Magic had a voice. The earth had a voice. The moon had a voice. And tonight… The world was screaming. I stood in the gardens of West Haven, watching the sky change. The stars had disappeared. The air felt heavy. Wrong. My hand tightened around the stone railing. "No..."The word left me before I could stop it. Kent immediately noticed. He always did. After all these years, he knew every expression, every breath, every silence."What is it?"I didn't answer immediately. Because saying it aloud would make it real. But he already knew. His face changed."Claire."I turned toward him. "Lucian." The name alone carried weight. Kent's expression hardened instantly. "Where?""Veiled Valley." a Silence filled the air. Then the de

  • The Lycan Prince's True Luna Queen   The Storm Before the War

Damon’s POVThe gates of Veiled Valley closed behind the vehicle carrying my daughter, and for the first time in years, the castle felt too large. I had fought armies that stretched farther than my eyes could see. I had stood across battlefields covered in blood and ash. I had faced creatures born from darkness and looked death in the eyes without hesitation. But watching Thea leave with the people I trusted most was different. There was no enemy to strike. No sword to raise. No battle to win. Only the unbearable knowledge that protecting her meant letting her go. Aurora stood beside me, silent. I knew she felt the same emptiness. The bond between us had always been powerful, but there were moments when words weren't needed. I could feel her emotions as clearly as my own. The worry she refused to show. The ache she tried to hide. The part of her that wanted to run after the vehicle and bring our daughter back into her arms.I understood because I felt the same. But we were not only pa

Damon's POV: I looked at this silver-eyed beauty. My head clouded. I wasn't sure what I must have drunk to make me feel this way. I'd had a single whiskey. It occurred to me, I may have been drugged. My eyes went wide with the realization. Before I could stand up and go speak with my beta abou
