Mr, Mysterious

We danced together, after refilling my glass. We laughed and jumped to the beat. I could feel wandering eyes on me, so I looked around. I did not see anyone. The hair on the back of my neck stood on end. It was not unpleasant but made me hyper-aware of being watched by someone.

I glanced around, then finally my eyes got drawn up. The VIP room had a floor-to-ceiling window view to the dance floor and there stood a man on the railing staring straight through to my soul. He was the most handsome man I had ever seen in my life who was staring through the crowd of party-goers at me. My eyes locked with his, His eyes were lustful and locked on me.

Sending a shiver down my spine. “Who is that?” I asked Lilly as I jumped to the beat… Nodding for her to look at the VIP room window. A man stood dressed in a black dress shirt half unbuttoned. You could see part of his broad chest he wore black slacks and shined shoes that reflected the light.  His dark sandy colored hair slicked back.

His blue eyes locked with mine. “MINE,” the voice said in the back of my head. Again, this voice was the same as earlier. “Jesus Christ, Who is that fine specimen?” Lilly said, looking at him with her eyes wide. A seductive smile playing on her lips. We stopped dancing and now both of us were looking up at him.

A pang of jealousy hit me from her checking him out. My alcohol tolerance was low, and I had already drunk several of these strong drinks. My head was fuzzy, and I was feeling more brave than usual. “I don’t know, but I’m going to find out,” I laughed. I tipped my glass to her and said, “Don’t wait for me,” winking at her.

I walked away towards the VIP Suite steps. Walking up to the bouncer at the bottom of the steps, I was not sure what I was expecting. The guy had longer dark brown almost black hair pulled back into a low ponytail. I could tell he had a beard and mustache combo 5' o clock shadow starting. a studded diamond earring in his left ear. He was tall and muscled. Wearing a black suit he stood at the velvet rope like a statue.

His blue eyes were stern looking at me. Walking up I was not sure what to say to him, so I just looked at him. Then the red velvet rope blocking the steps. His eyes glazed over for a moment like he was thinking. His eyes then came back into focus and he looked at me, smiled, gave me a slight bow as he removed the rope to let me pass. I smiled and nodded a thank you as I walked past him.

“What the hell am I doing?” I thought as I slowly walked up the steps. “This isn’t me” I got to the top of the steps and the VIP door opened automatically, almost like the guy downstairs had told them I was coming up. Another bodyguard stood there wearing a black suit. He, too, had a studded diamond earring; only this guy’s earring was in his right ear. His hazel eyes locked on me.

His dark brown hair was slicked back like a business professional would. He looks behind him at the handsome man. The handsome man was sitting on the couch alone. The music was muffled, but you could still hear it. “Toney, Let her in,” he said, waving the guard off.  The guard gave me a smile before letting me pass. He then stepped out of the room and closed the door.

I stood in silence just looking at him. My heart was racing. “You can come closer,” he said, patting the seat beside him. I gave a small smile and walked over and sat beside him. He smelled amazing, like a clean fresh waterfall with a hint of cedar. I had no idea how I could smell the scents, but I did and it was very alluring.

“You were watching me,” I said with a nervous smile touching the corner of my lips. “I was,” he admitted. “Why?”  “Well” he said, setting his glass of whiskey down on the glass table. He looked at me, his blue eyes locking with mine.  "I saw you and something in me screamed I needed to know you,” he said honestly. “What brings you here ms..?” He trailed off in a polite but questioning tone.

“Aurora,” I said faintly. My eyes raking over him. He noticed my eyes had been raking over him and smiled at me. His K-9 teeth were more prominent than the rest of his beautiful white teeth, but it made his smile very enchanting. I wondered for a moment what it would feel like for him to sensually bite me with them.

Realizing where my thoughts had taken me, I blushed a little. Everything about this man had my soul on fire. I had never even once thought about Thomas the way I am clearly thinking about this man I just met and don’t even know his name. I cleared my throat and said, “I’m Aurora and you areeee..??” I said tilting my head in question. “Damon,” he said quickly.

“I saw you watching me from the window and, umm.. Thought I’d come introduce myself,” I said, my voice sounding smaller and less confident than a moment ago. My throat felt dry, so I downed the rest of my drink. Damon smiled and downed the rest of his drink, leaning forward, he touched my hand. Sparks and tingles erupting from his touch across my skin, giving me goosebumps.

I didn’t react, just sat frozen. For a moment, he looked at our hands in shock, a surprised look in his eyes and he sat frozen for a moment. I wondered if I did something wrong. let out a breath and relaxed, when he used his thumb and started to draw little circles on the back of my hand.

His touch kept sending ripples of tingles and sparks down my arm. Giving me goose bumps. I was not thinking clearly. His touch was doing something I didn’t fully understand. “Do you want to get out of here Aurora, somewhere mooore…..intimate?” he said softly, a seductive smile playing on his lips.

  • The Lycan Prince's True Luna Queen   Epilogue — The Future We Fought For Part Two

Aurora’s POVThe sound of footsteps approaching through the garden path pulled me from the quiet moment between Damon and me. I already knew who it was before I turned. Our bond had always been strong, but motherhood had changed something inside me. I could feel Thea before I saw her.Her joy. Her excitement. Her endless curiosity. Our daughter had inherited many things from both of us. My magic. Damon’s stubbornness. His determination. My inability to give up on anyone. And somehow, despite only being four years old, she had already mastered the art of making an entire kingdom revolve around her. I smiled."She's coming."Damon immediately straightened. The terrifying king who had faced gods disappeared. The warrior who had stood against armies vanished. In his place was simply a father waiting for his little girl. I had to fight the urge to laugh."You know she is only going to run into your arms.""I know.""You are acting like you are preparing for battle."He looked at me serious

  • The Lycan Prince's True Luna Queen   Epilogue — The Future We Fought For Part One

Aurora’s POVThere was a time when I believed peace was something fragile. Something temporary. Something that could disappear the moment you allowed yourself to believe in it. I had spent so much of my life preparing for the next loss that I never truly understood how to accept happiness when it finally arrived. But now...Now I sat in the gardens of Veiled Valley beneath a warm afternoon sun, surrounded by flowers that Damon had planted himself, listening to the quiet sounds of our kingdom living beyond the castle walls. Children laughing. Warriors training. Families gathering. Life. Real, ordinary, beautiful life. And I was still sometimes amazed that we had made it here. Four years. It had been four years since Lucian had been sealed away beneath the earth. Four years since the world had nearly ended. Four years since we had stood together against a god who believed love was a weakness. And four years since we proved him wrong. The garden had become my favorite place in the kingdo

  • The Lycan Prince's True Luna Queen   The Prison of Moonlight

Damon’s POVThe sky broke. There was no other way to describe it. One moment, Veiled Valley stood beneath the moonlight, the kingdom we had fought so hard to rebuild standing strong against the coming darkness. The next…The heavens themselves seemed to split apart. Black cracks spread across the sky like wounds, and from those wounds poured the power of something ancient.Something that had existed before kingdoms. Before wars. Before any of us had ever drawn breath. Lucian stepped forward from the darkness. Not as a shadow. Not as a whisper. Not as a voice inside my mind. He came as a god. The pressure of his presence forced warriors to their knees. The ground beneath us trembled. The stone walls surrounding Veiled Valley groaned under the weight of his power. And still… I stood. Aurora stood beside me. That was the difference. For the first time since this began, Lucian was not fighting the broken parts of me. He was fighting the whole of me.“You look disappointed.”Lucian’s voice

  • The Lycan Prince's True Luna Queen   When the Darkness Arrives

Damon’s POVThe first night without Thea was the hardest. I didn't expect it to be. I had spent years as a warrior. I had spent months away from home during campaigns. I had slept on battlefields, in forests, and beneath skies filled with enemies waiting for the right moment to attack. But none of those moments compared to walking past my daughter's room and seeing the empty bed. I stood in the doorway longer than I should have. Her little blanket was still folded where Aurora had placed it that morning. A small toy sat near the edge of the bed, abandoned because Thea had decided something else was more interesting. A normal thing. A simple thing. And somehow, it hurt more than any wound I had ever received. Aurora found me there. She didn't say anything at first. She simply walked beside me and leaned against the doorframe."You're thinking about bringing her back."I looked at her. "Is it that obvious?" She gave me a small smile. "To me? Yes." I looked back into the room. "I know

  • The Lycan Prince's True Luna Queen   The Choice Between Hearts

Claire’s POVThe moment the darkness touched the horizon, I knew. My magic screamed and my bones ached for a disbursement of it. I had spent my entire life sensing things others couldn't. Not because I was stronger. Not because I was more powerful. Because I listened. Magic had a voice. The earth had a voice. The moon had a voice. And tonight… The world was screaming. I stood in the gardens of West Haven, watching the sky change. The stars had disappeared. The air felt heavy. Wrong. My hand tightened around the stone railing. "No..."The word left me before I could stop it. Kent immediately noticed. He always did. After all these years, he knew every expression, every breath, every silence."What is it?"I didn't answer immediately. Because saying it aloud would make it real. But he already knew. His face changed."Claire."I turned toward him. "Lucian." The name alone carried weight. Kent's expression hardened instantly. "Where?""Veiled Valley." a Silence filled the air. Then the de

  • The Lycan Prince's True Luna Queen   The Storm Before the War

Damon’s POVThe gates of Veiled Valley closed behind the vehicle carrying my daughter, and for the first time in years, the castle felt too large. I had fought armies that stretched farther than my eyes could see. I had stood across battlefields covered in blood and ash. I had faced creatures born from darkness and looked death in the eyes without hesitation. But watching Thea leave with the people I trusted most was different. There was no enemy to strike. No sword to raise. No battle to win. Only the unbearable knowledge that protecting her meant letting her go. Aurora stood beside me, silent. I knew she felt the same emptiness. The bond between us had always been powerful, but there were moments when words weren't needed. I could feel her emotions as clearly as my own. The worry she refused to show. The ache she tried to hide. The part of her that wanted to run after the vehicle and bring our daughter back into her arms.I understood because I felt the same. But we were not only pa
