Xavier's POV:

Days turned into weeks, and the search for Uriah seemed to be fruitless. Every lead we pursued turned out to be a dead end, and my heart sank with each passing day. Anya remained in a coma, and she was the only person who could shed light on what exactly happened in the forest that fateful night.

One day, as I was discussing some ideas with the pack's scouts on how to track Uriah, I received urgent news that Anya had awakened. I hurriedly left the study room and rushed straight to Anya's room.

When I entered, I saw her lying on the bed, her face pale and her eyes filled with tears. My heart softened at the sight of her vulnerability, but I pushed away my emotions, focusing on the urgency of the situation.

"Anya," I said coldly, trying to hide my own turmoil, "what were you doing in the forest that day with Uriah?"

Tears streamed down Anya's face, and she began to beg for forgiveness. But I couldn't afford to be swayed by emotions. I needed answers.
