ELARA
“Who’s there?” I whispered into the darkness, my voice trembling.
The door creaked open.
Lucius stumbled in, his eyes were bloodshot and the smell of alcohol hit me like a slap. His steps were heavy and unsteady, and the way he looked at me made my stomach twist.
“You think you can hide from me?” he slurred, dragging the door shut behind him.
“Lucius, don’t,” I said, backing away. “You’re drunk.”
“You’re mine, Elara. You belong to me.” His voice was low and angry. He took a step closer, then another. “I want to have you and break all over again."
He reached for me. I slapped his hand away, but he grabbed my arm and yanked me forward. I cried out, and tried to get his hands off of me but I couldn't. He pushed me down onto the bed, trying to climb on top of me.
“Stop! Let me go!” I screamed, kicking and thrashing.
He raised his hand to hit me again, but I didn’t let him. I grabbed the nearest thing a metal hairbrush and slammed it into the side of his head. He fell back, groaning in pain.
I ran.
Out of the room. Down the stairs. Into the cold night.
I didn’t stop. My feet pounded the ground, twigs snapping beneath me. My breath came in sharp, panicked gasps. I didn’t know where I was going—I just wanted to disappear.
But the forest wasn’t safe.
I heard them before I saw them. Low growls. Heavy breathing. The smell of blood and dirt.
Rogues.
Three of them stepped out of the trees. Grinning like they've seen their prey. One licked his lips.
“Looks like we caught a little rabbit,” one of them said with his voice filled with filth.
I felt the need to puke.
“Pretty little thing,” another sneered. “We’ll have some fun with her.”
My blood ran cold. I turned to run, but they blocked me. One grabbed me by the hair and yanked me back.
“Don’t touch me!” I screamed, clawing at him.
He laughed and pinned me against a tree, forcing himself close. I screamed again.
Something huge and fast crashed into the rogue holding me, throwing him to the ground with a loud crack. The others turned, but they didn’t last. The man who attacked them moved like a storm—quiet, deadly, and brutal. One rogue’s neck snapped. The other fled into the woods, crying out.
I fell to my knees, shaking.
He turned to me slowly.
The moon hit his face, and I couldn’t look away. He was tall, with black hair falling over his forehead, strong jaw, and cold silver eyes that looked like they felt nothing. Not pity. Not warmth.
Just… stillness.
He didn’t speak.
I forced myself to breathe. “T-Thank you… thank you for saving me.”
He gave a small nod, nothing more.
I could feel time passing by and the silence was killing me slowly.
“I’m Elara,” I said, trying to fill the silence. “What’s your name?”
“…Alaric,” he said, with his voice low and flat.
That was it. No questions. No comfort. Not that I was expecting any, I sure was.
He looked at me like I was a leaf on the ground, something he just happened to notice.
“Why are you so cold?” I asked, hugging myself. “You saved me, but you don’t even care, do you?”
He looked down at me. “You’re safe now. That’s enough.”
I stared at him. Something about the way he spoke… the way he stood… made my chest tighten. I was tired. I was angry. And gods help me, I was drawn to him.
He turned away, about to leave.
But I moved and touched him. He stopped and turned to look at him.
I grabbed his shirt and pressed my lips to his. I didn’t expect him to kiss me back. But he did.
His hands grabbed my waist, pulling me close. His mouth was hot and rough. My breath caught. My body reacted before my mind could stop it.
Clothes came off. The forest disappeared. There was only us.
And in the middle of it my heart skipped.
A strong mint and strawberry scent hit me.
"Mate." I muttered in my head.
But I didn’t say it.
I didn’t want him to reject me too. He's sure so strong not to admit it or maybe he hasn't felt it yet.
I grabbed his head and deepened the kiss, he invited me in with his tongue and I couldn't help but wiggle my waist around his cock.
He slowly sat down on the grass while I straddled him. The kiss became the intense and I couldn't help but started grinding my hips, slowly then faster.
Alaric slipped his hands under me and took my panties off.
In a few minutes, our clothes were off and only our groans filled the forest.

The next morning, I woke up on soft grass, and noticed a fabric covering me.
Probably his.
I stood up but didn't see anyone. He was gone.
I looked around, panicked but no sign of him.
I sat up and reached for the shirt he left. I brought it to my nose.
The scent hit me.
It wasn’t just any shirt.
Only Lycans wore clothes like this. The seal.
Yes the seal, he's a Lycan king.
My heart pounded.
Alaric was a Lycan.
And he was my second chance mate.
With no hope left, I went back to the pack. Bruised and sore.
Lucius didn’t say a word, but the look in his eyes promised punishment.
Weeks passed.
I felt sick every morning. Tired. Dizzy. My stomach hurt, and my chest felt heavy.
Something was wrong.
I went to Mara, the seer. The only person I trusted in Lucius pack.
She took my hands, eyes going wide as she looked at me.
“Elara… you need to shift,” she said.
“I can’t. I’ve never—” My voice broke.
“Try,” she interrupted in a whisper.
We both went to an open filled where no one would see us but something in me asked her to leave and she did.
I tried to wolf out but I couldn't, surprisingly, I could feel and hear my wolf but I couldn't transform.
I went back to Mara's house. She touched my face, eyes full of shock and something else… fear.
“Elara,” she said, her voice barely a whisper. “You’re pregnant. Do you know what this means?”
I stared at her in shock.
Pregnant how? How?
Tears filled my eyes.
“I don’t,” I whispered.
Elara's pov I stared at him with a worried face. Did he really expect me to tell him what I want?“What do you want?” he asked with raised brows, and there were no words. I still was feeling really shy. My heart drummed like crazy and I didn't even know what to say to him. “Please just… just touch me.” i begged, but there was no response from him. He just nicked, and then inched closer b“Where?” He pushed further, bitting his lips. It seems like there was a lot already happening. I didn't know what else to say. He was making me blush out of embarrassment.“Down there,” I pointed, and he smirked. “Hmm, fair enough…” he rushed towards where I was, and kissed me on the lips, then he began to take off his cloths in a hurry. I was tensed. I didn't know how else to go about it. i was shy, and tensed at the same time. “You look so beautiful. I'm sure there are so many hidden in your…” he trailed, devouring my lips. “Yes love, I want you to do that…” I needed to make him love me.” He k
Elara's pov I was overwhelmed by the kiss. His warm lips danced in sync with mine, and this was the first time we had been so close after our first intimate moment. He kissed me, his tongue taking the lead.As he kissed me, I felt my body reacting in different ways. It wanted more than just kisses. It wanted more. As if knowing what my body wanted, he allowed his arms to roam around my body. His hands went from my hair to my breasts which he squeezed lightly. “Ahhh…” I moaned into his lips, my eyes closed. I felt down there throbbing as it slowly became wet. “Mmm…” I moaned. I was in the mood to be devoured, and I didn't mind how he treated me. Whatever he was doing was working.“Hmmm…” I moaned, and then threw my hands over his neck. I wanted him more than I expected. “I love you…” I let that one slip out, and he pulled away. I was breathless, and he was too, and it was obvious he was trying his best to hold back because he was already in the mood. There was already a lot that
Elara's povThe kiss was passionate. It was intriguing, and I was willing to continue, but he stopped, pulling me away. He smiled at me, and then exhaled. “I want to eat you up right now, but I'm afraid we are going to attract people.” I swallowed. I wanted it so much. For some reason, his lips against mine made me forget all the suspicions I was having. All I wanted now was to ensure that he was in my arms. “Are you sure you're fine?” He explained, and I smiled. “Not really…” I didn't know how to tell him what I wanted, but I wanted to be touched. To be handled like a woman, to feel his lips everywhere. I lowered my head, and it was then my eyes caught sight of his hardened cock.” I gasped, moving back, but he seemed to already know why because he laughed.“There's no need to be scared. He only gets like this around you, I promise…” he expressed with raised brows, making me swallow. There was a lot of things I wanted to know. Maybe the first time I was with him was a bit too rus
Elara's povI was worried about what he had said. What kind of war was strong enough to wipe them all or. It was crazy and I was so worried about it. “What kind of war?” I asked with raised brows. But there were a lot of things that I saw. His expression was worried, tense, and then he smirked. “How about we take this bonding up a notch. You're always asking questions. How about I show you something you'll want to know about?”My eyes widened, and then I was worried about the way things were already but I need a way to be able to make things make sense. Now I have a lot to worry about. The mystery of the white wolf, and why it was beginning to be freed. There was a lot already on my mind.“Alright then but what?” I asked, and he smirked.“It's a surprise. You shouldn't be asking too many questions. You're going to end up being someone who everyone's scared off,” he tested, helping me up. He held my hands and then asked me with all of his heart.“I just want to show you something ab
Elara's POV She was visibly shaken, and was trying her best to cover up, but it was obvious that she couldn't. “What am I hiding?” She laughed, but it wasn't a sincere kind of laughter. She was always this shady person even when she seemed so nice. “I’m not hiding anything. I just am worried about you, and your baby.” “Why?” I asked her, my hands crossed over my chest. There was no smile on my face, and it was obvious that I was not in the mood for smiling. I had to ensure that there was truth in whatever she was saying.“Well because you don't need to worry about yourself when we are here to worry about you. Come on, we all care about our alpha's mate, so there's no need to suspect us for anything. Your baby is his heir, it's a must we care,” she explained, placing her hand on my shoulder. “You are an asset to the pack. Your old pack failed to see it, but we are here to keep you as ours, and to groom you till your real potential comes out.” “Hmm,” that was the only sound I was a
Elara's POV It was too much for me to handle, but I decided to stay quiet. My eyes remained fixed on him, watching how he wanted to not tell me the truth.Maybe he was having an argument with his wolf, but whatever it was made me scared. “Things are really getting out of hand. What exactly is going on?” I asked with raised brows, and then kept shut. As I was now, I couldn't leave until he did because he would definitely hear my footsteps. The reason I was safe here was because of my blood that spilled. It covered the library with my scent, making it hard to notice I was here.“So what are you going to do now? Do you plan on confronting him?” My wolf asked, and I shook my head. I Just needed to get out of here, and then we can talk about being able to find out what the matter was because at this point, it didn't seem like something I could handle anymore. The moongoddess needed to be involved in it, so I could at least understand what I was doing. “She's not going to know the trut
