The discussion with my elder brother Edriel had gotten me worked up. I had been studying the papers to find a way to eliminate the vampire lord.

And then Celia had walked into my room and somehow weaseled her way into convincing me that she was the best match for the job.

I knew even before she said those words that she would not last against Ivan Henzler, the notorious vampire lord who seemed to be as cruel as the being of their origin, Dracula himself.
