As I looked outside the abandoned building that I had now taken as my refuge, I clenched my fists.

I had been long gone, looking after urgent matters that needed my time, and attention. So, by the time I returned here, things had gone downhill.

The Xurian empire had snatched away our lands, established supremacy, and turned all of us into their minions. And it was not only us vampires but also other supernatural beings such as witches, faes, and many more.

I looked outside the ruin of a building, while my legs dangled down the archway of a colonial architectured window that seemed to give in any moment. A place that used to be my stronghold, a place that exuded power…now reduced to ruins.
