Ninety-Six

I look up at him, fighting the tears that threaten to fall, as Henry brings my worst fear into the light. My fear that my panther was something that he could never get past and return to loving me. I don't take my attention off of the threat Henry is to us as I whisper through my link with Zachariah,

"Is it true? Or is what we have been sharing over the past few days the truth?"

He glances down at me, placing his hand on my cheek and whispering back,

"What we share is the truth, Yasmine! You are my everything. I know I have been a real jerk over the past few weeks and I intend to make it up to you."

He then looks back at Henry, saying,

"Neither you nor Val would know how to cherish a real female."

I don't miss Zachariah's smirk as Henry growls low at the insult. He however recovers and returns to taunting Zachariah by addressing me.

"How about you show me your wolf? Is she as beautiful and graceful as your white panther?"
