Chapter 15

I looked at the full moon visible through the curtains of my windows, I found myself sinking into the couch with a contented sigh. Luna and Ace were spending the weekend over at my place.

From the moment they arrived, it was non-stop chatter and laughter, because they didn’t get to spend a lot of time with me over the week, they had a lot to fill me up on, tales of their latest adventures and their excitement over the new games they had brought along.

I made their favorite meal—homemade lasagna followed by their favourite chocolate milkshake. I don’t know why but I felt like I wanted to do a lot for them because I don’t see them as often as I used to.

I also had an irrational fear that my kids who already loved Aurora, might get attached to her. I knew it was silly but I was insecure and it would break my hearts if I see her taking care of my children.

As the clock struck 9:30, their eyelids began to droop, and I knew it was time to tuck them into bed.
