Chapter 40: The Day Before The Ball!
Xan woke up early like he always did. Normally, he would get up and make himself a coffee before settling down and doing some work.
Today, though it was different. Xan had not meant to seem so vulnerable in front of Grace, by making her promise not to leave him. Was it because he knew Kurt was landing later on today? Did he think Grace would see Kurt and run back to him?
"When did I get so insecure?" Xan asked silently.
“A penny for your thoughts?” Grace said sleepily.
Xan had been thinking so deeply that he had not noticed that Grace had woken up and was staring at him.
“Nothing!” Xan quickly said with a smile.
“Liar! I am going to be your wife, you need to open up to me!” Grace said with a sigh.
