Chapter 6: Fight for her!

James walked into his office to find Kurt with a glass of whisky in his hand.

“Man you look like shit! Why aren’t you with Grace?” James said bluntly.

“I fucked up!" Kurt said slowly whilst staring at his glass.

“How can you fuck up man? It not even 12 yet!“ James exclaimed.

“There was this man...” Kurt Said.

“Ah, I can see where this is going, Buddy. Did you kill him?” James asked in all seriousness. Kurt was extremely protective over Grace, James had seen him kill for a lot less.

“No, worse!” Kurt said as he sipped his Whiskey.

“What could be worse than killing a man?“ Said James suddenly worried.

“I hurt Grace,” Kurt said quietly.

James was silent for a minute, this was not good. He knew Kurt would be devastated if he hurt Grace in any way.

“What do you mean by hurt?” He whispered.

“I dragged her to my car and ordered get in. She flipped and left with her stuff in a taxi” Kurt said rubbing his forehead.

“Why would you do that?“ asked James confused.

“This guy, an old uni friend, Dr Jason Smithson was trying to get Grace to go on a date! I tried to warn him off, but he kept pushing and I lost my temper! ” Kurt said simply

“Which is what he wanted of course!” James said.

“I know that now!“ Snapped Kurt.

“It may be that she just needs time to cool off, “ Jame said encouragingly.

“I quote “Contrary to popular belief, I am an independent woman who does not need any man! I don’t need fancy hotel rooms, drinks paid for or fancy trips out. What I do need is a man who will not lay his hands on me without My permission. It was nice seeing you again, And I’m happy that you’ve made a go of things. However, you owe me nothing for saving your life. I think it's best if we moved our separate ways before one of us gets hurt!“ Kurt said.

“Shit, that is the politest way of saying fuck off you cock I ever heard!” James said impressed.

“I know!” Kurt said with a sigh.

“Well you got two choices!” said James simply.

“Yeah?” Kurt said.

“You can either be a twat wallowing in self-pity!” James said sternly.

“Or?“ Kurt said softly.

“You got three and half days to change her mind. In other words, fight for her!” James explained.

“I don’t know how!“ Groaned Kurt. Kurt had not been an Angel, he had slept with other women. But, they had thrown themselves at him, he never had to chase them!

“Well, a good place to start would be an apology. Stop being like some big man child and start fighting for her!“ Said James sternly. He knew his mate needs tough love right now.

“I know that, but how?” Kurt said annoyed. He was the most powerful gang leader in the UK, apologising was not in his skills set!

“Well most normal me do it with flowers. I know her favourite is sunflowers and I know she is currently at Anne’s” James said casually.

“How did you know that?” Kurt said looking suspiciously at James. James had a very sheepish look on his face.

“Well whilst you and Grace were getting it on, so I was with Anne. We swapped phone numbers and we suppose to be going on a date tonight.” James said with a shrug.

Kurt raised his eyebrows “You sly dog! You like her don’t you?”

He knew James did not go on dates or swap numbers.

“She is an interesting woman. But I think we should concentrate on the matter at hand!” James said carefully.

“Your right, James,” Kurt said as he got his mobile phone out and called his assistant.

“Hi Jane, I need you to order some sunflowers for me. How many? I want as many as possible and I text you the address. Thanks!” Kurt said hanging up the phone.

“You going to do something way over the top aren’t you?” James said with a sigh.

“Of course!” Kurt said he said with a smile. He would not go down without a fight.

==============

“Grace, please tell me what happened! I’ve never seen you this upset!” Anne said as her sobbing friend was sitting on the sofa. Grace had that of course she could stay in her home on the outskirts of the city. She had offered before, but Grace did not want to burden her.

“I was having breakfast at the Winter Garden's and I bumped into Jason. We just chatted and he walked me back to the hotel. But, but…” Grace stopped to blow her nose, she knew she was an ugly crier, not that she gave a fuck at the moment.

“Kurt was there and it went bit mad, they kept glaring at each other and showing off.” Grace explained confused.

“Then what happened?” Anne said gently.

“Kurt got mad when Jason kept asking me out for drinks. I know Jason just wanted to talk about his cardio practice. Kurt grabbed my arm and dragged me to the car. I..I ..” Grace sobbed again.

Annie finally understood and gave her friend and hug. Kurt grabbing Grace’s arm and dragging her had triggered her bad memories. Over the years, Annie had piece together what had happened in Grace’s childhood. She knew Grace had been dragged upstairs, into cars and cellars often to be punished. The punishments often included physical violence as well as been locked up. Grace still slept with the light on after spending days been locked in a pantry. Grace could not stand the dark or closed spaces even now.

“Look, what Kurt did was wrong. Mind you, Jason is a mega minge splat for been a pedantic cock as well!” Anne said.

Grace sniffed and asked “What do you mean?”

Anne rolled her eyes, her friend Grace was the smartest person she knew but she was so naive in a lot of areas. “Meaning, he wanted Kurt to lose his temper so that he stood more of a chance to get with you!” She explained.

“Oh that is complete horse shit, Anne!“ Grace said.

“Is it though? Do you think Jason was asking you for drinks just to chat about his cardio practice? I mean he wants to practice cardio with you, but that is another matter!” Anne said with a wink.

“Anne!“ Grace shouted whilst blushing

“Oww, you are so cute when you blush!! Seriously, give this Kurt guy another chance, he is really into you! James said that you are Biro Boy’s Angel, his saving Grace” Anne said seriously.

“He only nice me because I saved his life, that is all!” Grace reasoned.

“Riiiiight that is why he looked like he could destroy your lady parts all night!” Anne said with raised eyebrows.

Grace did not say anything and blushed again. She has never been with a man, not that she didn’t want to, she just had been busy and not found the right one.

“Look, love, you did not get much sleep last night. Why don’t you wash your face in cold water and have a nap? Things might look better!” Anne suggested

Grace nodded and she went upstairs. She washed her face, and the cold water helped her puffy eyes feel better. As soon as her head hit the pillow she fell soundly asleep.

A few hours later, Anne heard a knock at the door.
