DarrynIt’s been a month since the incident at the club. Davina and Sammy have come over several times, but Reighly hasn’t shown her face around me since. I could care less. Brett I am sitting in the waiting room at the hospital. I got a call about thirty minutes ago that Kaycie had fainted at work and was being transported to the hospital. I get up and start pacing. I see Ryan, Felipe, and Darryn walk through the door. They all had a look of panic on their faces. I told them all I knew which wasn’t much. We were standing there when the doctor came in. Damn, my head hurts. I try and open my eyes, but it hurts. When I finally do open them, it is in a dimly lit room. I try to move my hand, but I can’t. I am so nervous. I am over at Davina’s place because she is helping me get ready for my date with Darryn tonight. He is picking me up in thirty minutes. When I saw Kaycie in that green dress, I was blown away. She looked absolutely fucking gorgeous. I held my hand out, hoping she would take it, and she did. I was with Darryn in his car, heading to his father’s house. I know his family well, considering we have been best friends since kindergarten. We pull up to his dad’s house and get out of the car. He told me about wanting to bring Kaycie to dinner with the family in a week, but he thought he should tell his family about what happened to Kaycie. I told him that I thought it was a good idea to tell them, so they understood if she acted strangely around them. We walked into his dad’s house. House is an understatement. It was a fucking mansion. We walk into the living room to find his dad, grandparents, and two of his uncles. His father got up and gave us both hugs, as did his grandmother. His family is the mafia, and Darryn is next in line to be the boss. I knew he wanted me to be his second, but since I am not blood, I didn’t think that his family would approve; then his dad told me that I am considered family.
