The next morning, Levana slowly fluttered her eyes open. She had been unconscious for long that her eyes were having some difficulties adjusting to the blinding light of the hospital’s ceiling.

Unlike most people in her situation, she had perfect memory of what happened. She remembered getting shot and was brought to the hospital before her consciousness was gone.

Since she was still there, she assumed she was still alive.

“I guess I haven’t run out of luck yet.” She told herself. When she was about to move her body, she could feel this sharp pain that made it impossible for her to even sit up straight.

“You have woken up. No, no, don’t move your body like that. It will worsen it.” Maximus approached her and helped her lay back down.
