Kon smirked. "Didn't your mum ever tell you not to hit kids?"

The men stood, shocked by the boy's boldness. They were expecting a young student who would cower at their feet, with tears in his eyes, begging to be let free. But what they saw was far from what they expected.

The boy standing in front of them didn't look like a distressed damsel.

"What? Are you surprised?" Kon glanced back to make certain there was no one sneaking up on him before he turned to them.

"What do you want?" He placed his hands on his waist.

It had been long since he fought — close to four months, it had been. And he was hungry for it.

He wanted to hit someone in the face and watch as blood trickled down.

"Get him!" The leader of the men commanded. He stood back and watched them with a sly grin on his face.

With a battle cry, the men charged at Kon, who stood his ground and watched them with an amused expression.

One of the men tried to knock him down, but Kon bent and kicked him in the stomach. He took the man's hand and flung him back towards one of the men advancing towards them.

He beckoned to the other men who were watching him as if he had somehow grown another pair of heads.

The men charged towards him at once. Kon didn't break a sweat; he kicked the men, sending them flying back.

"It has been a long time since I had this amount of exercise." He stretched his body with a smirk.

It pleased him to see the men's scared expressions.

This was what he had missed—the thrill of fighting and relishing it.

"He's just a small boy. Get him!" The leader of the men commanded from a distance.

The men, whom Kon had kicked, slowly rose and advanced towards him at once.

Kon flexed his muscles. He kicked through the men as if they were nothing.

Yet, the more the men got beaten, the more determined they became.

The encouragement from their leader was also part of their reasons.

Focused on the men in front of him, Kon failed to notice the one sneaking up on him until it was too late.

The man held Kon by the neck and forcefully covered his nose with the chloroform-soaked handkerchief.

Kon struggled against the man's hold. He thrashed and kicked until he eventually got the man to release him.

Grunting in pain, they let Kon escape.

However, he didn't go far.

His eyes rotated, and his head felt bigger.

"What's wrong with me?" Kon placed a hand on his forehead. He felt dizzy.

All around him, the world seemed to be rotating in circles.

"Get him!"

He heard the leader of the men's command, but before he could do anything, he fell on the floor and instantly lost consciousness.

Toto glanced back to make certain her mother was still okay before she raced towards the fast food Scorpion went to.

Scorpion had already paid for the ice creams and was in the process of taking his orders when Toto ran in, looking as if the entire world were chasing her.

"Uncle!" She ran towards Scorpion the moment her eyes landed on him.

"Toto?" Scorpion took a squat in front of her.

The few people in the cafeteria watched them with rapt attention.

"Uncle!" she heaved.

Running from the park to the fast food stall wasn't child's play.

"What's wrong? What of Kon?" Scorpion glanced at the door, half expecting him to walk in at the moment.

"He's in danger. He said I should call you!" Toto said a tad bit faster.

"What did you just say?" Scorpion placed his hand on Toto's shoulders. "Take a deep breath."

"Mom is in danger!" she yelled.

"Shit!" Scorpion rose from his squatting position and took her hand in his.

"Customer. Your—"

Scorpion didn't turn. He carried Toto and raced out of the fast-food restaurant, praying that nothing would happen to Kon.

If not, he would be in much more danger.

The devil would have his head, should anything happen to Kon.

Scorpion raced towards the place Kon should have been.

"Hurry, Uncle. We need to save Mom!" She urged Scorpion to run faster.

Just like Scorpion, her heart was beating fast. However, their reasons were different.

Scorpion was afraid of being killed by the devil, while Toto was afraid of what might happen to her mum should they get there late.

Through the park, they ran until they reached the spot where Kon was. However, they saw no one.

Instead, they saw Kon's left shoe on the ground.

"Kon!"

"Mom!"

They screamed.

She got down from Scorpion's body and raced towards the chair she had sat on with Kon not too long ago.

"Mom!" She yelled as tears freely gushed down her face. Her eyes were red, and her breath was a bit hurried.

"Mother!" She screamed.

"Kon!" Scorpion ran around the place. He checked the surrounding trees, but there was no sign of Kon.

"He has been taken." Scorpion's heart lurched into his stomach.

He was in for more than deep trouble.

"Mother!" Toto cried. She took his shoes and ran towards the trees, screaming for him.

Scorpion had to hold her to prevent her from running away.

It was enough that he couldn't protect his boss's lover. Losing the daughter would be the worst.

He might as well kill himself.

"Mom!" She cried. "Let me go; I need to find my mum!" She wailed as tears streamed down her face.

"It's okay, Toto. I will find your mum. You—"

"No! I want my mum!" She screamed. "Let me go! I need to find my mum!"

Tears gushed down her face. "Let me go; I need my mother!" She sniffed.

"I will find your mother." Scorpion tried to console the thrashing girl, but it was futile.

She wasn't hearing any of it.

"No! I want my mother!" She screamed. "Mom!" Her blood-red eyes scanned the park, hoping to see her mother.
