CHASE

I saw them, not in the way a husband should find his wife, and definitely not with him.

The sight hit me like a punch to the gut.

Vadim was on his couch, and he looked half- conscious but the way he gazed at her like she was some hot steamy donut with sprinkles and glaze on top.

He stared at my wife like she was a meal.

What raised the fury in me wasn't that he was bleeding or he was stitched, it was his hands in hers, like she belonged to him, hell like they were in love.

But they weren't because she was my wife, and what I felt wasn't jealousy - it couldn't be.

I didn't think, I just moved across the room.

“Get your hands off her.” My voice cracked, and his eyes flickered, he seemed too tired to understand.

Sloane's rolled eyes and stood up.

Her lips parted and she wanted to explain but I didn't give her that chance.

“Out,” I snapped, my gaze locked on her. “Now.”

Sloane raised her brows. I knew she wouldn't obey me immediately, she never made things simple. Not once.

  • The Mafia Don Married Me For Revenge.   Chapter 28

CHASEI spent the whole day making sure I didn’t see her, making sure we didn’t cross paths. It wasn’t hard. The warehouse always had something for me to tear apart; shipments to track, men to correct, ledgers to check twice. I buried myself in work, in numbers. But even everything that I busied myself with, she stayed at the back of my mind, slowly taking space. How dare she? How dare her father think I could be scammed or played?Fuck them. Sloane thought she was smart, but she was in for a treat, I was smarter than her. She wasn't alert regarding her surroundings. Hours passed and I stared at numbers, crunching digits into calculators and having pointless meetings. By late afternoon, when the men had gone quiet and I’d run out of excuses to keep busy, I picked up my phone and called Annika.“Dinner,” I told her flatly. “With me. Make sure she knows and prepare her.”I didn’t tell Anikka what the occasion was, I didn’t need to; she is my wife after all and I can summon her w

SLOANE My heart ran faster when I heard the door. I pushed the phone under the pillow so fast. My throat became tight , and for one terrifying second I thought it was Chase. But it wasn’t, it was Annika. I exhaled immediately. She paused like she knew she shouldn’t have disturbed me.“Forgive me, Mrs. Sokoluv.” I raised my brow when I heard that name, that’s how I would be addressed now, was I ready for that? “I only wanted to ask if you needed anything before I went for the night.”I sighed because she wasn’t sent by Chase to spy on me. I was still unsettled from the phone call with my dad, actually worried. I don’t know how I looked to her but right now my hair was scattered and my voice sounded like an engine that needed to be oiled. I forced myself to breathe, forced my tone to flatten. “No, Annika, I don’t need anything, you can rest and please just call me by my first name.” She nodded, as she watched me like she was trying to read me. She searched around the room to

CHASEI rolled out my tie and tossed it to the floor when I entered my room. I hated how today turned out. Weddings are supposed to be a happy event, but mine turned into a fucking battlefield. And worse I stared at Sloane for too long, my body wanted to betray me. My lips called hers and my dick: my dick wanted to stretch her walls, it wanted to hear her whimper and moan. My body wanted to make love to my wife, as is the custom of being married. I shook the thoughts away and turned over to my phone that vibrated on the desk, I knew it could only be one person. My father’s timing is never accidental. I stared at the phone, the buzzing moved and increased like it was right in my head. Finally, I swipe to answer.“You’ve grown weak,” his voice came in sharp. There were no pleasantries, no pretense. “I never thought I would see the day my son allowed himself to be humiliated in front of the Russians, at your own wedding.”My jaw tightened. “It has been handled.”“Handled?” he sco

SLOANEI stormed into my room and slammed the door behind me harder than I meant to. God, he makes me so angry. My chest was rising and falling fast, and I pressed my back against the door, trying to breathe.I slid down to the floor and moved my legs to my chest. Damn Chase. He was driving me insane. Every time he opened his mouth, every time he pulled that arrogant, commanding tone on me, I wanted to claw his eyes out. And I hated how my body reacted when he was too close.I could still feel his chest against my breasts, the heat of his breath on my face, the pressure of his arm pinning me to the wall. I wanted him to kiss me and I hated it. I hated him.But a part of me wanted to know what he would do to me, how he would kiss me, what he would taste like. I wanted to know how he would touch me if he wasn't tightening his grip. I stood up and I pressed my palms against my face and groaned into them. “Get a grip, Sloane. He’s your husband, yes, but this isn’t marriage, it's pr

SLOANE“Let go of my arm,” I said to Vadim as I tried to yank my hand away from him, but his grip tightened more. We finally got home, the guards had doubled and everywhere was tense. I hated this. Vadim stared at me like I spoke Spanish. “What? We are home already. Not home, at least where you would torture me.” I said as I glared at him, my chest heaving. “Yes, we are home. You should start getting used to it.” He growled, but something flickered in his eyes. He stared at me, and I could sense something; he was unsettled. Vadim was always smooth with his gaze, with his words. I have never seen him do anything other than that.So when it seemed like the fire in his eyes dimmed, I knew something was up. “What's wrong?” I asked, and then my eyes widened. I realized it - I realized why he acted weird, why it seemed so strange. “Why didn't you say anything?” I asked as I yanked myself off him. I hated how it took me so long to realise it. How he hid his pain and pretended like n
