Both mafia families have been rivals even before she was born and when she was seventeen she was abducted by his elder son, he took her and some of her friends because they were witnesses. It was the first time she had killed someone and it had been his brother. Chase despised her with passion and when he saw an opportunity to make her suffer, he agreed to go along with the marriage. In a game of survival only the strongest wins. What happens when hatred turns into a burning obsession? When they find out they have a common enemy and are forced to work together, will they put aside their differences and act as a power couple? Or will they kill each other first?

I wiped the sweat from my forehead with my jacket and sighed looking at the damage done, the burning building with goods worth thirty million inside.
Two of my men died there and I have no idea what that bastard was trying to prove when he made a hit on one of our warehouses, he did the same last week attacking our warehouse on the west.
"Fucking piece of shit!" I cursed under my breath, the day I see him I will make sure he dies a slow excruciating death. If the bastard thinks he can get away with this he is insane. Everyone knows what I did to his elder brother and I won't hesitate to put a bullet in his brain if we ever cross paths.
Our families have been enemies even before I was born and I remembered how my father always mentioned the Sokolovs whenever something bad happened and I grew to hate them too.
And they gave me even more reasons after the eldest son of the Sokolovs kidnapped me and my friends when I was my senior year in high school, I was only seventeen back then and Koyla thought he could get away with it so I pretended to be defenseless and waited until he turned his back on me then I slit his throat with a box cutter.
I escaped on my own and I can still remember that day. It was my first time taking someone's life but I couldn't stop when my friends' lives were at stake and I wiped out the men in the mansion. When Dad came to get me he was shocked to find only corpses behind.
I earned the name devilish angel after that night, no one knew I bawled my eyes out in the shower that day, no one knew I still have nightmares from that night.
And now... Fucking Chase Sokolov won't let me be, he has ruined almost everything for us and he almost killed my father in a shootout last month and he traced all my friends from back then and killed them sending tiny pieces of their bodies to me in gift boxes.
Hatred is not enough to describe how I feel about him, the name alone makes my fist clench in anger, thinking about all the things he has done makes me want to risk everything to kill the bastard.
"How many?" I asked Javier, my father's right-hand man because he got here before me.
"Three dead, sixteen severely wounded my lady" He replied and I nodded watching the men try to take out the fire, "How did this happen? Those idiots didn't notice something was off about the shipment" I seethed angrily.
"They didn't notice, and I was told someone ordered pizza before the explosion," He said and I turned to him with furrowed brows.
What does that mean? Is it some kind of code?
"Don't waste my fucking time Javier what do you mean by ordered pizza?" I snapped imperatively.
"You see they believed he might be responsible for this, the delivery guy. The guys were dead when the alarm went off, and the explosion happened minutes after he left" He explained and I was even more confused.
"So you are saying our killer is a pizza delivery guy?" I questioned incredulously.
"I think it was a hitman disguised as a pizza guy, we can't find any footage from earlier today the whole thing was wiped out which means-"
"This was meticulously planned and the pizza guy had help, then again the Sokolovs have been a pain in the ass for months now I won't be surprised if Chase is responsible for this" I gritted out, his name always left a sour taste on my tongue.
"Or it could be someone else" Javier voiced out and I raised an eyebrow.
I don't think I have another enemy apart from Chase Sokolov.
The damn Russians were the only bone in my throat, the number of times I have escaped death isn't even funny anymore and that bastard won't stop until I die.
Maybe he did this to throw my focus off him, so he can catch me off guard and finish me off himself instead of sending his goons.
"Don't tell my father what you just told me, is that clear?"
"But-"
"I gave you an order Javier or do I have to remind you how things work here, my father isn't here so I'm in charge and I can put a bullet in your brain for trying to challenge me and he wouldn't be bothered. This conversation is over, make sure you clean up the mess and quietly, if Detective Ryan comes give him the usual and tell him to fuck off with his useless team I don't want the authorities sticking their noses in our business. And send me the location of the Sokolov's new hotel" I ordered and walked toward my Harley.
"Understood," He said.
I mounted my BMW bike and drove off instantly, leaving the burning building behind. I have other things to worry about and I will pay back for this with something he holds dear.
He recently opened a hotel in the East and it's the talk of the town, everyone keeps talking about it and I was impressed when I saw a picture of the massive building.
Too bad it's going down now.
I got home and went straight to my father's room ignoring the maid's greetings as I climbed up the stairs. I entered my father's room and met him with one of his young mistresses, she sat on the bed massaging his leg.
Daphne, or whatever she was called I gestured for her to get out and she scurried out of the room.
He grunted something under his breath but I didn't care if I interrupted what he was doing with the girl.
"We need to talk about what happened today," I said and he hummed.
"Did Javier tell you anything?" He asked and I shook my head.
"No. Is anything wrong with your health? The doctor said you would be up and running in a few months" I pointed out.
"That's none of my concern for now, and I'm glad to take this break. I found a way to stop the war with the Russians" He remarked and I froze.
"What?" My voice rising a bit.
"I didn't know I had a deaf daughter, you heard me clearly the first time" He replied curtly.
"What do you mean you found a way to end the war?" I asked perplexed, there is no way to end the war Chase made that clear and he wants me dead.
That's the only way to end the war.
"The Russians came to us with a deal, a way to create an alliance with them and put an end to the killing and destruction" He answered and my heart pounded loudly in my chest.
No.
They wouldn't...
Why?
"I'm assuming there is something else" I swallowed a hard lump in my throat, the Russians are known for one thing, their alliance is either by blood or marriage.
Marriage.
I dread the sound of that word most especially when it involves the Sokolovs.
"We will seal this deal by holy matrimony"
CHASEWe had just finished the first round, and it was nighttime now. I leaned back against the headboard. Sloane was beside me, warming on my body. I felt her hair soft on my skin. My hands rubbed her hips as I held her close. I knew I had to feel her close to me.“You feel too good like this,” I murmured as I brushed her hair back. “Every time I touch you, I want more.”Her lips parted in a smirk. She winked, daring me. “You already had more,” she teased. “What, you’re not satisfied yet?”“Never,” I growled. Her hands gripped my shoulders. “You’re trouble,” I added. “Could say the same,” she whispered.I didn’t wait. My hands grabbed her hips, and I turned her over, actually flipped her to her back. “Tonight, I’m taking control,” I murmured. Then I reached for the drawer, pulling out the leather cuffs. Her eyes widened, and her heart drummed loudly. “Chase…” she stuttered as she trembled. “Do you trust me?” I whispered into her ear. Her lips parted. “I trust you.”I immediat
SLOANEI got back into the room like he commanded, like he wanted. I walked around the room, and I ran my hand through my hair. My anger was burning inside me. I was angry at him and his cousin. Worse of all, Kazmir. But underneath everything, I was scared. I was afraid of the day when Chase wouldn't be around. I was afraid that I wouldn't survive it. And I missed him, right now in my anger. I missed him, I wanted to be angry, and I wanted to give him space. But I couldn't because I needed him, because I cared for him. I know I shouldn't, but I can't control my heart; the heart wants what it wants. Then the door opened softly, and he stepped in. Chase. My heart skipped a beat. I was relieved that he came. I was relieved that he was here. I wanted to yell, but my knees buckled the moment I saw him. “You’re quiet,” he said. “What are you thinking about?”I turned around, trying to control myself. Facing him now, I knew I had to talk. I ignored how he stared at my boobs. “I
CHASEI didn’t expect Mark to wait around after what happened. I sent him out of my home. Instead, I found him in the hall. Pissed as hell, the hair on his arms stood tall. Blood dripped from his lip. I knew Mark, and what he hated was being told no; he hated being stopped and feeling out of control. I was ready to throw more punches. Not only did he come here on my father's wishes, but he also choked my wife. He deserved everything that's happening between us. I looked around and I saw Kazmir. He could sense the tension. “Boss,” he whispered. “Stop, don’t start something here, you can’t win this in front of him.”I wanted to yell at him and tell him to get out of my way, but I stopped. Kazmir had a point. I didn’t want outsiders seeing me lose control, even if it was my blood.Mark glared at me. I felt his rage. I didn’t blame him if someone had hit my jaw. I would be thinking of taking his head. “Do you think you are stronger than me? Do you think she is yours? This woman was
SLOANEI noticed something was different, but I couldn't pinpoint what it was until it was past 10 am. I realized I hadn't seen Annika. It was off because she would be the first person to greet me and tend to me when I came out of the room. She would have a smile on her face, her hair would be in a tied bun – it always made her really beautiful. She would have a fresh tray of donuts for me and tea, but today, there was nothing. I looked around; the halls felt empty and quiet.Something was wrong. I was suspicious, and I tried to shake off the feeling. So I created different scenarios, maybe she had been busy with chores. “Have you seen Annika?” I asked one of the maids as I passed the kitchen. She looked at me for a second before she said a word. “I… I cannot speak to you, Miss. The boss does not allow it.”“What do you mean?” I asked, and fear took over me. What had happened? What was she hiding? The maid lowered her eyes. “I cannot say more, Miss. Please… forgive me.”I waved t
CHASEI like silence, but on days like this, it was deafening and strange. My warehouse was quiet; I was sure the ghosts of my men weren't there either. Regardless of it all, I made sure my nerves were sharp, but something about my cousin, Mark, being here didn't sit well with me properly Then I heard footsteps next, they were heavy and confident. I turned, and I saw him; he wasn't sneaking. He never did. Sloane's father was a man who walked like he owned everything. My hand stayed close to my gun at my hip; it was merely reflexes because I knew I wouldn't need it. “Chase.” He called it like he was in control. “We need to revisit the arrangements we made.” I raised an eyebrow before I crossed my arms. I knew he would always ask for more and more, like everyone else did.“Go ahead, tell me your terms.” He smiled, one of those slow, smug smiles. “Giving you Sloane…that’s worth more than we agreed. You understand, don’t you? I want more. I want freedom at the border, and I want t
SLOANE. This house is big, it’s huge. It was huge enough that I didn’t understand why I bumped into her. I had planned to avoid her, which would require me to stalk her, but that was a price to pay. I exhaled as I noticed her; she barged in yesterday with all the smiles that made my stomach twist. This house wasn’t a rainbow fairytale or some pink doodle that would love her presence. No, there are guards and shadows and secrets that would scare anyone. It scared me. Regardless of it all. She seemed unfazed... while I was trying to understand it. I was in the garden, I tended to some flowers before I picked up my book pretending to read, that’s when I heard the crunch of the rock under someone’s shoes. I looked up and there she was. Chase’s half sister: Natalia. She carried herself with so much confidence, like she knew no one could do anything to her. She looked super hot like a model, even though all she had on was black jeans and a leather jacket. “Hey,” she said with a sm
