Chapter 2: The Dreamer
She got a better view of his handsome face and she squinted her eyes.
He looked somewhat familiar. She couldn't place a finger where she had seen him but she kept getting a feeling she knew him.
He clicked the gun on her forehead with his gaze never living her eyes. He dragged the tape away from her mouth and she shut her eyes from the pain.
"I don't know what you are saying, I'm not the one, the person you are looking for-" She started saying but he cut her off immediately with another shocking news.
"Annah Showman. Twenty-four-year-old. Adult book writer," he said with a cocky stare.
"Yes, that’s me. Those information… they are mine… but there might have been a mix-up," she stuttered as her fear now mixed with shock. Who was this guy and why did he know so much about her?
He grabbed her by her chin and moved her closer to his face.
She whimpered as he had a strong grip on her. The pain was unbearable.
He let go of her. He seemed to be struggling with what he was doing despite the scowl on his face. Annah still couldn’t put a finger on where she had met him.
Her cheeks were stained with her own tears. She sniffed and he returned the gun to her forehead. Annah thought this was her end and she closed her eyes and said a little prayer.
His phone suddenly rang in his left hand and he placed it to his ear.
"Connor, speaking," He answered.
"Connor," She repeated the name. It sounded familiar. She had forgotten where she had seen it. Or heard it. But she knew it…
The gun was no longer on her head. She looked beyond to find anything that she could use to break free. She used her eyes to search for the key to the lock in her hands.
Her eyes widened as she saw the keys sticking out on the left side of his pocket. She gulped down spit as she looked up at his face. He carried a different emotion in his eyes as he spoke on the phone.
Connor moved slightly and the key fell out of his pocket. It made a sound but he was too distracted to notice. It was a miracle she wasn’t going to let slide.
He stood up and walked to his guard. Annah stretched her legs and moved the key to her side.
Her hands were cuffed from the front. She leaned in and grabbed the key on the floor but she mistakenly let go and the sound resonated around the room. Her heart stopped.
Connor turned around and glared at her. He moved to the key and grabbed it from where it fell.
"You are trying to act smart?" He scoffed.
"I told you to use the rope. Her hands are tiny, she could break her bones and break free, I mean she's a writer," he said to his guard, without looking at him. “They are known to be crazy!”
He grabbed the thick rope that lay on the floor and opened up her cuffs. He tied her hands from the back, he made sure he tied her up properly.
"Now where were we?" He asked with the gun back on her head.
Annah could hear her own heartbeat. She shut her eyes as the gun directly on her forehead added a tingly feeling. It was a ticking time bomb attached to life.
"I have been single, my whole life? Who would I get a baby from? God?" She asked, already tired of explaining to him. Her fear had gotten to the point where she became frustrated as well.
She had just missed the chance to escape. What else could she do now except convince this madman that she didn’t have his baby?
He hit her head with the back of his gun and she yelled in pain.
"I hate people who lie," he whispered through tightened teeth. He grabbed her stomach and she yelled in pain.
"You think because you burnt off the fat in your stomach, I would not know?" He asked.
"I swear... I don't... know what is happening, I have no child. I have never been with anyone in my entire life," She confessed red from crying.
"Prove it!" He demanded.
"How do I prove something like that to you?" She asked confused.
He placed his hands on the trigger and shot but it only clicked.
“Argh!” she screamed as her tears increased.
"You might not be lucky next time," he whispered.
"I am telling the truth…" She continued to cry. She almost died. She saw her own death. What did this man want?
"Your constant lies are irritating the hell out of me! I hate it when people! Peasants! Like you lie to me! Where is the baby?"
He dragged the gown she wore and exposed her slim body in one hard pull. Annah tried to cover herself by bending her knees under her nose again but Connor read her move before she even started. He gripped her legs and held them down.
She cried as he stared at her now naked body. The water had started drying up due to the heat in the dungeon but it didn’t make the fact that she was naked any better.
Tears pricked her eyes as she couldn’t help herself. He was staring at her body and there was nothing she could do to protect herself.
Connor’s eyes narrowed down on the scar on her stomach. He bent forward with the gun and traced the scar with it.
"This scar? What do you have to say about it?" He asked before he freed her legs.
Annah immediately tried to hide her naked body with her legs thankful that she still had her panties on.
"It… was from an operation. An appendix operation." She sniffled refusing to stare directly at his face.
This was like fuel to the anger already brewing within Connor. He threw the gun on the floor and came at her. "Shit! Shut your dirty lying mouth!"
"How about close inspection, if you truly speak the truth?" He hissed.
He ran his hands on her silky thighs and she flinched from his touch. His hands were soft but a little bit sweaty. He squeezed them and she moved them away.
Connor returned his eyes to her. Annah felt a knot in her stomach as she recognized the lust in his eyes.
He grabbed her face and planted a kiss on her lips. She tried to spit or bite him but he was stronger than her. He used one of his hands to grab her boobs and she squirmed under his rough kiss.
The fighting on the lips gave him a slight injury on his lower lips and he pulled away and slapped her face. Annah fell to the floor panting for her life. She thought he was done and was almost thanking her lord but Connor was just starting.
It was only a matter of time before those erect nipples teased him to the point of losing his mind. She was so sexy and she had to be half-naked and wet in front of him. When he touched her thighs, he knew his control was going out of the window and now it was.
He grabbed her legs and spread them.
“Please, don’t!” Annah cried out in panic as she tried to fight some more, but he had caught her off guard.
One hand went to her stomach. He leaned and kissed her thighs roughly. She fought with all her might but he was stronger. He pinned her in place with one hand and continued kissing her.
He pulled the hand holding down her stomach and unzipped his pants with it. Then he balanced himself with one hand on the floor and the other moved to her neck.
Connor stopped choking her and thrust his finger deep into her cunt.
The excruciating pain made her yell out loud and then everything turned dark as she continued screaming.
The air seemed to change around her and her eyes flashed open ready to face the rape that was coming her way.
She was on her bed… in her house.
“It was a dream…” she whispered wiping the sweat off her forehead.
Yet she felt strange. Was it a dream?
She moved away from the bed and rushed to the door. She checked if the guard was still there. He wasn’t there. There was no one there.
It took her some minutes before she realized she was still in her apartment. She checked the time on her phone. It was already morning.
She touched her body. She could still feel the warmness of her rapist.
Was it truly a dream?
CHAPTER 183Connor stared at the reflection in the Mirror. The white suit looked spectacular on him. He couldn't help but notice how much he had changed since Annah walked into his life. His eyes seemed to be lighter. He smiled more often and that was a long way from when he used to think that smiling was an exercise. Well, till Annah came in and changed her. He smiled at the thought. She was worth his every smile. Only the thought of her made him feel alive inside and she couldn't wait to spend the rest of his life with her. The door creaked open as Hans, Russo and Marcus walked in. He caught the teasing glint in their eyes and tried not to smile. "How do you feel?" Hans said "How the hell do you think he's supposed to feel? It's his wedding"Russo drawled. Connor almost rolled his eyes. Considering the fact that he didn't like to associate with many people, he considered them friends. Admitting it to himself made him cringe. "I know you can't wait to see her," Hans teased. "Ju
CHAPTER 182Annah felt overwhelmed and slightly shaken from what happened earlier. She couldn't believe that Micheal had attempted to take her away from the love of her life and from her future son. She felt overwhelmed and heavy with exhaustion but at same time she also felt relieved that at least Connor and her son were okay. She wouldn't have had it any other way. She winced as Connor swiped the soaked cotton wool across her bruise tenderly. There was a sort of tension that radiated from him so it didn't take too long to figure out that he wasn't fine. He was more focused on her bruise than at looking at her."You can talk to me. There's no need to keep your emotions away from me Connor" she placed a hand over his arm. "You were about to be hurt, Annah. Micheal was about to take you away from me" he growled lowly and ran a face over his hand in frustration. Annah knew she shouldn't feel relieved at someone's death but she couldn't help it. Micheal wasn't around to torment them any
CHAPTER 181Annah felt drowsy as she woke up. Her head was spinning and the pounding in her head heightened with each movement she made. Her eyes raked over her environment and the panic began to build in her chest. All she could remember was that she had been walking with that new guard and she'd been trying to make conversation. He had abruptly given her an apologetic look before she had blanked out. She could tell from her drowsiness that she'd been heavily drugged. She looked up at the window in the room. It looked like something like a dark cellar. Alarmed, she decided to call out for help and was met with instant silence entirely. Her mind drifted to her son, to Connor. What if they weren't safe as well, anxiety gave way to full on panic and she lunged up immediately and headed towards the bar of the cellar, she tried to shake it open but it remained unmoving under her grip. Nobody was outside, from the looks of it, it seemed like she would be the only one here."Help. Anyone
CHAPTER 180Annah felt off and very conflicted. There was obviously something that Connor was not telling her. She didn't know what it was but for him to act so distant, for her to be able to sense his anxiety, it was definitely enough to set him on edge. Martha played with her son and she stared at the empty space, lost in thought. She tried to calm her racing nerves but was unable to. Martha sneaked a curious glance at her. She wondered what it could be that distracted Annah so much. Whatever it was, it must be something enough to set her on edge. Annah son was occupied with drawing on paper. The little boy has taken such a liking to art that it amazed both Annah and Martha. He was able to come up with creative things and each time Annah or Martha came across his art. It rendered both of them breathless. "Are you okay Annah, you've been staring for hours" Martha said as she looked at Annah worriedly, her face etched in concern. "I'm just worried about Connor. He's been behaving
CHAPTER 179Something was wrong. Annah could sense it from Connor as they sat at the dinner table. He was occupied with cutting his son's food into smaller pieces. Everytime she tried to ask him if he was ok. He would assure her that he was and then would back it up with a smile that wasn't in the least bit convincing. She knew when he was trying to suppress his emotions, she knew when he was trying to keep what he was feeling away from her, all because he didn't want to dampen her mood. She noted the way his shoulders were a bit tight with tension, she noted the muscles in his jaw. She considered trying to get him to admit what was bothering him, but not here. Not at the dinner table. There were maids still serving platters of food that they couldn't even quite finish. She had tried to convince him of the fact that having a near buffet for dinner wasn't always necessary. But he wouldn't listen. He's always insistent in spoiling her and thier son. Hans hanged around the dinner table
CHAPTER 178Connor felt bothered as he stared at fge screen. Hans stood beside him, his face impassive but he knew Hans was just as worried as he was. They had been unable to get a clear view of the intruder's face. All that they got was the exact detail of his build. It was almost as if the intruder was very conscious about the camera. Apparently, he was smarter than Connor gave him credit for. Hans and Connor exchanged worried glances. It was hard to miss the pasty white shade of Hans knuckles. Connor was on edge, he could feel the anxiety eating him alive from the inside out. It was hard to focus on anything. He was conflicted between flying Annah and his son, preferably to another state and than staying here. At the back of his head, he knew Micheal still found a watch him, Micheal was silently gauging his every move, making plans on the move he would make next. This wasn't something that Connor could rush. This wasn't a decision that Connor could just hastily commence."How do
