Chapter 2

Sharon's suddenly eyes snapped open in a room and she found herself lying on the bed. She gasped for air and a familiar smell instantly swam into her nostrils.

“Could this be the smell of heaven?” She thought, her eyes scanning through the chandelier over her head.

Sharon sat up, her mind all over the familiar smell. she could clearly remember the smell. It was the same smell of the deodorizer she had sprayed into the air before lying down.

She threw the sheets off her body to reveal the blue nightwear that she was wearing, Her ample bosom was exposed under the nightwear, Her brows instantly scampered seeing that, it was the same one Aria had given to her as her wedding gift. She had clearly remembered that she had only worn it once, Andrew had complained that it and she burnt it afterward

The room was so familiar, it was like walking back into a deja vû nightmare. She was supposed to be dead, wasn't she? Her sister, Aria had stabbed her. Yet, she sat on the familiar bed, alive and well and staring around at the familiar surroundings.

“Am I not dead?” She thought her eyes scanning through the room all over again.

The door of the bathroom was suddenly opened and Sharon turned in the direction where she saw a familiar figure walking out, she instantly panicked and cringed, grabbing the bedsheet close to her heart.

It was Andrew who looked at her a little surprised. He was dripping wet from head to toe, coming out from taking a bath, and he tied a grey towel across his lower body.

“You are up.” She heard Andrew’s voice, it was soft as ever, just like the one she heard that day.

“Babe, Is something wrong?” Andrew asked seeing the perplexed expression on Sharon’s face.

The worry on his face suddenly disappeared and it was replaced with a smile.

“Are you suddenly scared since we are married?” He added.

“It’s nothing to be scared about, I love you now and I will love you forever.” He walked up to the bed and kissed her forehead.

Sharon continued to look at him without saying a word, clearly remembering how he had slept with her Aria and how he had been behind all her miscarriages. She couldn’t believe she was betrayed by the same man who looked at her so affectionately and with passion

Sharon who however remained silent followed him with her gaze, he stopped at the mini closet, his eyes scanning through the clothes.

“Should I wear. . .”

“The yellow one or the blue one.” Sharon completed Andrew's words and he instantly looked flustered. That was exactly what he was about to ask.

Sharon had clearly remembered this day, The day she had put her name on the wedding vows vowing to stay with him for better or worse in sickness and in health, and for richer or poorer, and now It was her wedding night.

She could recall the day properly now, after walking down the alter with Andrew while blushing all over, they arrived at the big hotel for their honeymoon. Andrew went to take a shower and she took a nap but now she, however, woke up in confusion. That day was exactly five years ago and now She was supposed to be dead, Aria had dug the knife into her heart with Andrew watching the whole scene, or Had she been given a miracle just like in books?

Andrew didn’t think much about it, he thought she had just guessed right.

“Do you have anything you want to do?” Andrew questioned and Sharon's eyes went over to Andrew who had changed into a free pant and a white shirt.

Sharon's eyes quietly followed him to the fridge again, she watched him open up the fridge, he took out a bottle of juice and decided to pour a glass.

“I mean like golfing, cycling, or anything?” He added walking back to Sharon who stayed quiet.

“Here.” He stopped in front of her and passed her the glass of juice with a wide smile on his face

Anyone seeing him right now would have thought Andrew was the perfect gentleman but it was just the other way round.

Sharon subconsciously took the glass from him.

She looked down at the juice, she had clearly remembered how he had forced her to take it that day and she woke up only the next day afternoon.

“Why are you so quiet today, are you bothered about anything?” Andrew asked raising a brow slightly.

Sharon was a gentle reserved woman but around Andrew, she wasn’t gentle. She would have ranted about a lot of things to him but today Andrew was the one doing all the talking.

When Sharon noticed he wasn’t looking she quietly poured the juice into the flower vase beside her.

When Andrew turned back and noticed the glass had been emptied, a little smile tugged at the corner of his lips, His phone suddenly buzzed and Sharon watched him stare down at it.

“I will be right back.” He took a glance at Sharon who refused to mutter a word before walking to the other corner of the room.

Sharon lay on the bed and pretended to have slept off before Andrew could finish his call.

Andrew turned back, and when he noticed she was fast asleep, he instantly left the room. Sharon heaved a sigh and sat upright the moment he was gone.

she quietly got out of bed and sneaked after him.

She tiptoed behind him in the hallway but she never expected to see another familiar figure who seemed to be waiting for Andrew at the door, the lady was clad in the exact nightwear as hers and leaning against the doorway, her long blonde hair fell below her waist, Sharon doesn’t need a soothsayer to know that it was her step-sister Aria.

“Babe,” Aria kissed Andrew directly on his lips.

Sharon had insisted Aria come with them to the Resort but refused, giving an excuse about a date. However, Aria had followed them and Sharon had been tricked all along.

She heaved a sigh and turned back.

Sharon sighed again, feeling weird as she walked aimlessly down the quiet hallway.

As she walked past a mirror, her eyes went all over her face and she subconsciously touched it, Her fears were confirmed at last. She had been given a second chance by the heavens, It is a gift that many craved but rarely got. She couldn’t believe she had returned to her twenty-three when her face was still blossoming with youthful beauty.

This time around, no more mistakes, she asserted, making up her mind on the spot. Nobody deserves her good heart and she will surely revenge on everyone who hurt her. Suddenly, she heard the sound of quick footsteps behind her but before she could react in time, she was grabbed by strong hands.

A handkerchief covered her nostrils and dulled her senses almost immediately. Her eyes rolled in and she was carted away by some unknown men.

-

Sharon gasped for air and was shaken back to awareness. She immediately remembered what had happened to her earlier and a surge of fear washed through her.

Nothing of such happened in her past life. There was no point of abduction

Her eyes scanned around the empty room where she was tied to a chair, she couldn't recognize where she was but she could tell it wasn’t anywhere familiar.

Why was everything going off track? This wasn't the way it worked in the novels.

If the plot had changed, Would she have to die again? how was she going to have her revenge on both Aria and Andrew? Sharon's heart ran through a lot of things.

But just then the door was opened forcefully.

She looked in the direction where he saw a man strode in, A figure who commanded attention not just by power, but by presence.

The moment he entered, the dimly lit room was filled with the scent of aged leather and cigar smoke.  He was dressed in a tailored suit that seemed to blend with the darkness around him, his shirt was tucked neatly into his pantsuit, and he was muscular and tall.

His aura showed dominance and his appearance was terrifying, however, he still looked good despite his cold expression, Sharon could confess that he was the best-looking man she had ever seen. She instantly ignored the thought, she didn’t have the luxury of time to think about that.

Sharon trembled and cringed as the man approached her step by step like a Demon.

Who is he?

She didn't push him away, not like he expected. She didn't yell, didn't accuse him. She was only calm, almost too calm, like she had accepted whatever it was that had happened between them. It was both comforting and unsettling at the same time.He took a deep breath, pushing aside his emotions for the moment. He could already feel the weight of his decision pressing on his chest. "I’ll be leaving soon," he said quietly, standing up from the chair beside her bed. "But before I go…"He pulled a cheque from his jacket pocket, the crisp paper a stark reminder of the distance between them, both literal and emotional. "I want you to take this," he said, his tone firm yet softer than usual. "It’s $50,000. It’s not much, but it’s something."Sharon looked at the cheque, her brow furrowing. She shook her head, her voi
