Chapter 14

She glanced at the door and hesitated to go out. She could hear his voice, issuing orders, checking security. She was feeling relieved that he knew. Now, she would be safe. But the guilt of hiding was nagging her. Though she didn't consider it compulsory to tell him anything. She was considering this chapter to be closed years ago.

She walked over to the door, but she couldn't lift her hand to twist the knob.

"I would behead you if I find any negligence. Keep the kids out of trouble. That's your responsibility, Paul." His voice was full of authority.

"Yes, Sir." She heard a heavy male voice.

A shiver ran down her spine in fear. She could feel the intensity of the situation. She was blaming herself for putting their lives in danger. Whoever was he? He was a psycho.

She pursed her lips together to rein new forming tears in her eyes. She drew herself back and walked over to the window. She stared at the spot where she saw Rose clinching the gun.
