Chapter 26: I Do Care

I frowned when I saw the lights of the house were still on as Archer parked the car in the front. 

What’s going on?

My aunt should be fast asleep by now. I even asked her to not keep the lights on as it would be a tedious job for me to switch them off when I’m tired.

“Why are the lights on?” Archer asked. “Did you leave them on?” He turned to me.

“No.” I answered, not looking at him. “But something’s not right.” I whispered as I unbuckled my seat belt.

The whole ride back home, neither of us spoke a single word. It was too awkward and the tension in the car was almost tangible.

It was weird!
