Donatello carried Sabrina to her room and laid her on the bed. When he was about to leave, she clutched his shirt. Don froze in his tracks and turned.

“What is this for?” he asked.

“Stay with me; I am quite injured and can not do some things right now. Can't you stay to assist me?” She inquired with beseeching eyes.

“I am sorry, but I need to leave; I will assign some servants to assist you,” he said, removing her hand from his shirt.

“Have you really cared about me for even a bit?” she blurted out questionly.

“Sabrina, please don't let us go through that again.” Don said before turning to leave.

When he was gone, Sabrina sat up and reached for her cell phone which laid beside her.

“If I can not have him, you can not either, Julia,” she said under her breath as she dialed a number.

When he left Sabrina's room, Donatello headed straight to Julia's. With knocking, he barged in and found her putting her hair into a bun.

He walked to her and turned her shoulders so she could face him.

“Julia,” Donatello whispered as he walked towards her. She opened her eyes abruptly and was caught in his gaze. His usually cold eyes were no longer filled with hatred, but rather with longing for her. “Julia I–” he immediately paused. Why was he rendered speechless? His servant just stared at him, hoping he would not notice what she had seen. “I wanted–” Suddenly, she stood on her toes and kissed him. Her tongue curled with his, and she raised her hand to his neck, directing him away from the desk. Donatello was taken by surprise. His eyes widened in shock. Then he reciprocated her kiss back. He grabbed her waist and drew her to himself while his hands worked on her gown. Soon it slipped from her body and landed on the floor, exposing her nude skin. Julia watched as he unbuckled his pants. Her body desired his touch. She can't remember the last time he touched her but now she had ignited it, it would be best to enjoy him. She felt herself being pulled to the desk by her bos

  • The Mafia's Angel    CHAPTER FORTY-TWO: Her Man is Taken

The next morning, Julia got up early and took her bath. She intended to finish her work on time and avoid every sight of her boss. After what happened last night, she was not sure she could face him for now. After she finished her bath, she put on her uniform and decided to head to work. Well, not until a knock came. She paused in her tracks and looked at the door. Was it her boss? she asked herself. Another knock came, and she bravely approached the door to open it. She flung the door open, ready to flare at him but she was met with the innocent face of Paloma. Julia took a deep breath. At least it was not whom she thought. “You seem to be scared. Did you think it was someone else? The boss?” Paloma asked as she entered. Julia rolled her eyes, “I wasn't scared,” she said as she headed for her dressing table. “How is the cut on your hand?” Paloma asked. Julia looked down at her hand; she had forgotten about the cut from the broken glass. It was still there but it had healed.

“Giulia!”Julia snapped back to reality. Had she just been called by her full name? That usually occurred when her attention was required.Julia quickly shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts. What exactly had she been thinking? She quickly looked down and around her. Then she let out a sigh of relief. Nothing. She had not done anything. She raised her eyes to meet Don's gaze. He was still standing a few steps away from her. What had she actually been thinking? she asked herself as she closed her eyes. She couldn't believe she had just imagined killing the mafia boss!“Are you okay?” Donatello asked as he rested his hand on her shoulder.Julia shivered at his touch. “Yes, I'm fine,” she responded, slowly removing his hand from her.Her boss noticed it and sighed. How was he going to tell her that he had feelings for her?“I–”“–if you're here to tell me about your newfound love and make my life more miserable, I'm sorry but I won't listen to you.” Julia said quickly.Done said

Don paced back and forth in his room. It was already nighttime, but he was not feeling sleepy. Not yet. He had never felt so troubled like this before. When Sabrina returned, she assured him that she had spoken with Julia. However, he was not satisfied, not until he had confirmed that everything was fine with her. He had already concluded that Julia was angry to see him with Sabrina, which must have prompted her strange behavior towards him. Was it appropriate to confront her now? he asked himself. After some minutes of contemplation, he grabbed the door handle and opened it. “It is high time I clear the air,” he said to himself as he exited his room and walked towards the direction of Julia's room. *** Julia was not asleep. She could not close her eyes, and even when she tried, it hurt. Suddenly, she got up and walked to the window, she opened it and felt a waft of the cold air breeze past her face. It caressed her skin gently, prompting her to close her eyes and take a dee

“Are you okay?” Don spoke as he stood up and approached her. “I'm fine,” Julia said without looking up. She knelt down and started picking at the shattered fragments on the ground. “Wait, I'll get Paloma to do that.” Don told her. But she quickly declined his help, “I can do it myself, thank you.” The mafia boss stared in surprise as he watched her pack the glass on the floor. Had his position with Sabrina made her drop the coffee? As he watched her, he noticed she had a little cut on her hand. He immediately grabbed her hand and examined the wound. “You need to get this treated now!” he told her, referring to her hand. Julia angrily removed her hand from his and hid it behind her back. “I said I am fine!” She exclaimed, then walked out of the room, carrying the broken pieces with her. Don stood stunned by what had just occurred. Did he just get yelled at? Sabrina approached his front and rested her hands on his shoulders. “Isn't she the same lady you brought to the gala?”
