Past

Alessandra

I pulled my coat tighter as I made my way to the entrance of the club. Paul saw me and smiled, opening the door for me. When I walked in, I greeted some of the girls and headed straight to the employee lounge and changed into my uniform and locked my stuff into the locker and headed out.

Alessandra Cole, twenty-five years old. Waitress, clerk, bottle girl—you name it, I’ve done it. Not because I wanted to, but because I had no other or any other choice. Why? I was trying to stay alive. I went over to my section and took their orders and headed to the bar.

“Hey Mike.”

“Hey there, Lessa, full house tonight, huh?” He said, smiling his cocky smile that made half the women at the bar swoon over him.

“Good night for tips too,” I said, returning his smile and grabbing my order. During the night I stopped to talk to some of the girls. I was heading to the washroom when Candy pulled me aside; Halie was with her.

“What’s up?”

“I heard from one of the strippers...”

“How many times must I tell you not to call them that?”

“Okay, fine,” she said, rolling her eyes.

“I heard one of the dancers say Kian Arreas is in the building, in a private room upstairs,” she said, looking all dreamy.

“Who?” I asked, fully confused. They both looked at me like I had grown two heads.

“Kian Arreas, head of the Arreas family, billionaire, playboy, business mogul,” Candy said.

“Not forgetting some people say they are a Mob family, you know, Mafia,” Hallie said.

“I heard they basically own Chicago,” Haile said.

“And why would anyone be excited about that?”

“Ahh, so sweet and so naive. All I need is one night with him, and I would be set for life,” Candy said, leaning against the wall, and I rolled my eyes. She always wanted one night with someone that wasn’t new for her. I've known her for the past four years, and her antics and way with words weren't new to me.

“Bitch, keep dreaming. I heard he’s a beast in bed, but I’ve also heard he is cold and ruthless, like he has no heart. The most troubling part is he’s always out in public but surrounded by security. You can never catch a glimpse of him,” Halie completed.

“Well, I wish you two all the best in your attempts at bagging and screwing him.”

CathleenThis bitch shot Micheal. I sent Micheal to the hospital and went back to my apartment. I grabbed a bottle of wine and sat there. She needed to disappear. The beating she got the last time did its job. She stayed away from him. After I had her information, I made it a point to visit the club she used to work at. I used disguises and used the name Christine.I visited so often that I became a regular customer of her friend Candy.I would watch her and run into her at random places. It didn't take long until I met her and dragged her to get drinks, and she spilled it all. She began ranting about her money problems, and she didn't understand what Kian Arreas saw in her—that she was better—and I encouraged her. It took a few days, and I dropped enough hints.I told her she could solve her money problems and get Kian Arreas. All she had to do was tell Castello the rivals about Alessandra, and they would get her out of the picture. She hesitated at first, but I persuaded her. I tol

Alessandra When I walked into the facility, James was waiting for me, and so was Mr. Grant. He introduced me to the rest of my coworkers, who were all happy except. I took a tour around the facility and ended at my office. My first task for the morning was going through inventory. I made my notes and let Mr. Grant know. He said Arreas Import would be our supplier, and I would have direct contact with Mr. Arreas. I groaned inwardly, but this was my job, and I wasn't about to let a murderer fuck with it. I decided to take my coworkers to lunch. The minute I walked past his table, a shiver went through my entire body. My body reacted to him, and I was pissed. I didn't expect to run into them when we left. Cathleen. She was going to be a problem. She was marking her territory, but she had no idea he was the one after me and not the other way around. I was polite and professional because that was the way I intended it to be.When we got back to the facility, Mr. Grant was waiting for m

KianWhen Roscoe pulled up to my front door, I was exhausted. It was only then that I remembered I left Cathleen there. As I was heading in, the lights of the car caught my attention. I waited until the car stopped and Cathleen stepped out. She made her way to me. Over the past five years, Cathleen made it known she was available at any time. “Is everything taken care of?” She asked, which was normal.“Yes. Why don't you head home? I'll speak to you tomorrow.”She looked like she wanted to say something but didn't. She kissed my cheek and said goodnight and got back into the car. I walked in and headed straight to my room.It happened a few months after Alessandra left. Dante, my cousin, had flown down, and we ended up going out. I drank more than I should have. Cathleen had shown up and in my intoxicated state, I mistook her for Alessandra and fucked her. It was only the morning after I realized the mistake. After that I could have stopped, but no. She was always available; the fir

AlessandraI was cleaning out the apartment. My flight was already booked. My transcripts are already prepared. My suitcase was already packed.I was in the closet cleaning out the last of my belongings when I found it. A box with all of it. Candy's spare apartment key, her glasses, some of her books, and a few other things. These were all the things she left her when she slept over or whenever.I decided to take it to her; whether she wanted it or not, it was her decision, but I would return it and say goodbye to her. That was the least I could do. I would try to explain the situation and apologize to her if I had unknowingly done or said something to hurt her. I grabbed the box and walked ten minutes to her apartment. I walked up the stairs. I was in front of her apartment door when I heard a muffled sound inside. I stood for a second and listened, then I heard what sounded like crying. Panic gripping me, I hurriedly opened the box and pulled out the spare key. I hurriedly opened th

When we got to the airfield, it was midnight. I had Roscoe, Mac, and a few other security details that I trusted. You don’t go into enemy territory without trusted people. I swear to get her back, I was going to set this right and explain everything.AlessandraWhen my eyes opened, I was lying on a bed. I sat up immediately and looked around. I was in a room; there weren’t any windows. There was old faded wallpaper on the walls. I ran to the door and tried opening it, but it was locked. I tried the other door, but it led to an even more depressing bathroom. There was nothing in the room. How long was I out? Where was I?. Why me? Who did this and why?. I began screaming; I kept screaming, hoping someone would hear.I was startled by the door opening, and Marcello walked in.“Hello, sweetie, let me introduce myself. I am Marcello Cayden Castello, heir to the Castello empire.“Why are you doing this to me?”“Because whether you know it or not, you're quite special. Now I’ll have some fun

As I was leaving for the supermarket the next morning, I saw a guy step out of the apartment beside mine. It was empty yesterday."Hey, sorry if I bothered you last night with the noise," he said, looking a bit embarrassed.“Uhm, no, I didn’t hear anything. The walls are thick.”I saw him let out a sigh of relief. “Thank God, because I moved in last night, and my idiot friends were dropping things. Anyway, have a good one,” he said before heading back inside. I just shrugged it off.In the past three weeks I keep running into Marcello at all my frequent places. He would stop to make conversations, and I would try to politely excuse myself.I had just left the deli and was heading home when I saw him at the corner. I acted like I didn’t see him, but he walked over to me.“Hey Lessa, Are you busy tonight?” he asked as he walked beside me.“Yes,” I said, picking up my pace.“Oh, I figured we could go grab a drink,” he said. I stopped outside the apartment complex and looked at him.“Look
