Alessandra
I pulled my coat tighter as I made my way to the entrance of the club. Paul saw me and smiled, opening the door for me. When I walked in, I greeted some of the girls and headed straight to the employee lounge and changed into my uniform and locked my stuff into the locker and headed out.
Alessandra Cole, twenty-five years old. Waitress, clerk, bottle girl—you name it, I’ve done it. Not because I wanted to, but because I had no other or any other choice. Why? I was trying to stay alive. I went over to my section and took their orders and headed to the bar.
“Hey Mike.”
“Hey there, Lessa, full house tonight, huh?” He said, smiling his cocky smile that made half the women at the bar swoon over him.
“Good night for tips too,” I said, returning his smile and grabbing my order. During the night I stopped to talk to some of the girls. I was heading to the washroom when Candy pulled me aside; Halie was with her.
“What’s up?”
“I heard from one of the strippers...”
“How many times must I tell you not to call them that?”
“Okay, fine,” she said, rolling her eyes.
“I heard one of the dancers say Kian Arreas is in the building, in a private room upstairs,” she said, looking all dreamy.
“Who?” I asked, fully confused. They both looked at me like I had grown two heads.
“Kian Arreas, head of the Arreas family, billionaire, playboy, business mogul,” Candy said.
“Not forgetting some people say they are a Mob family, you know, Mafia,” Hallie said.
“I heard they basically own Chicago,” Haile said.
“And why would anyone be excited about that?”
“Ahh, so sweet and so naive. All I need is one night with him, and I would be set for life,” Candy said, leaning against the wall, and I rolled my eyes. She always wanted one night with someone that wasn’t new for her. I've known her for the past four years, and her antics and way with words weren't new to me.
“Bitch, keep dreaming. I heard he’s a beast in bed, but I’ve also heard he is cold and ruthless, like he has no heart. The most troubling part is he’s always out in public but surrounded by security. You can never catch a glimpse of him,” Halie completed.
“Well, I wish you two all the best in your attempts at bagging and screwing him.”
KianI was sitting in Wiseman’s office signing the consent forms when my phone vibrated. I pulled it out and checked it was a message from Dante. “We Have the ”Nurse”—that was all it said. I put it away and continued singing the forms. After I was finished, I handed them back to the Gonsalves. “Thank you, Mr. Arreas. I’ll have her prepped for surgery,” he replied. “I want only the people you trust in that room; if they’re not needed, then they don't get to be in that room.” “Umm, okay,” he replied, looking a bit unsure, but he didn't ask. When I got back to her room, Roscoe’s stance told me everything.“What happened?” “Ms. Arreas tried to go in. The older Ms. I refused to let her in, and she reacted very badly. She left a few minutes ago.” “Good, Alana, Katiya, and Cassandra. No one gets anywhere near her, understood?” “Yes, boss.” “Good” “Kian? Is everything set?” My mother asked as I walked back into the room.“Yes. They’ll be preparing her for surgery.” “Okay, good,” s
KianI followed Dante out, and we left. We made it to the park in fifteen minutes; it wasn't far from my office. Dante parked a good way off, and we walked through the trees to the Terrace. There wasn't anyone there. We walked around the back and stayed there; I silenced my phone, and Dante did the same. I didn't look at my watch; I just stood there.I heard a dog barking somewhere, and then the sound trailed off. I heard heels against tiles. The terrace was tiled. Someone was there. I looked at Dante; he peered around the wall.“Cassandra,” he whispered. I moved back into the dark and walked around; I was now looking at the terrace hidden by one of the pillars. Dante moved and was standing beside me.We stood watching Cassandra. Five minutes later Alana showed up; when she got close, she hugged Cassandra. CASSANDRA: Where the hell is she?ALANA: She’ll be here.CASSANDRA: So what’s the occasion?ALANA: Let Katiya get here.I saw her walking down the path; she walked up the steps an
KianWhen my eyes opened, I was looking at the white ceiling; the room reeked of disinfectant. When I turned to my right, Nonna was sitting in a chair looking at me.“I passed out, didn't I?” She just nodded. “No one can explain why we feel what we feel for another person. Love is a good thing, but it is also deadly. The way you reacted when you saw her… I have never seen you react in that manner…. You scared Rena… even Dante,” she said. “Look at what they did to her, Nonna. She lost our child because of whoever it was, and I won’t rest until I find them.”“I don't expect anything less. The doctors… She…” She was hesitating.“Nonna?”“She is in a medically induced coma. Rena and I approved of it. She woke up and began screaming and fighting. Dante, Pascal, and four others had to hold her down. She will need help,” she said.I ran my hands over my face. “Where is she?”“In a VIP room. Roscoe is guarding her; Tattia is beside her. “Go,” she said. When I got up to the VIP ward, I saw
KianI walked out of the living room but stood by the doorway for a second to breathe. When I walked out, I saw her coworkers. I walked straight over to them. It tok everything in me not to yell at them.“Talk” i said through gritted teeth.“We don't know what’s going on. Lessa was at work yesterday but said she couldn't keep working until James was caught. We would never do anything to hurt her, Mr. Arreas. You can check our phones, even our homes.” The dark-haired one said, and the others nodded. They didn't look scared or anything.“Fine, leave.”“Okay. Can you let us know what happens? She… she confided in us about… Well…” One said, and I knew she meant the pregnancy.“I’ll let you know.” The minute the car cleared the gates, I grabbed Alana by the throat. She tried to scream, and she grabbed at my hands, which just made me squeeze her throat tighter. “If you did this, I will fucking murder you, and do it slowly. Where the fuck is she?” I let go of her and pushed her away. She be
AlessandraIt's been two weeks since I found out I was pregnant, and Nonna and Aunt Sophia came. They were planning our wedding, and from their discussion all I gathered was that it was going to be a huge affair with more than three hundred people. It hurt my head to think about it too much, so I let them handle it, and I focused on work. Tattia was busy creating the wedding dress of the century, as she put it.When I pulled up to the gates. The security detail saw me. “Good morning, madam,” he said, opening the gates. This was a private compound; it was one of Kian’s. It was basically a sealed warehouse converted so the facility could use it. When I walked in, Gwen, Kendra, Lucia, and the others were already there.“Oh my god, there you are. “Congratulations,” Gewn said, coming to me and hugging me.“Thank you. How have you guys been?”“Thanks to that fucking psycho, we no longer have a building. How can one person be so crazy?” Kendra asked.“Not a fucking clue”“Well, like they say
KianI was sitting in Wiseman’s office. “I’ll give you the name of a clinic and the doctor. They are respected for their care and privacy,” he said, and I nodded. Truth was I was fucking anxious. I wanted her to be pregnant. Before her, I always feared Cathleen would turn up one day saying those dreaded words. pregnant,’ but with her I was more than happy to hear those words. She came back in with the nurse behind her. The nurse handed the paper to him. “Congratulations. She is about three weeks along,” he said, and I started to think back. It had to be that day, when I took her home. After we left, she was quiet. In the car on the way back, I took her hands in mine. “Scared, happy, or second thoughts?” I asked.“Every emotion except second thoughts,” she said. “Me too, but we’ll be fine. I promise.” “Okay. Take me to your mother’s, and you go to work; I’ll be fine,” she said. “Okay.” When we got to my mother's house, she and Tattia were in the living room. “Don’t you have a bo
