After the sound of the gunshot died down, Isabella kept her eyes closed. She heard Sophia choking. Wet, gurgling sound which sounded broken. Finally she opened her eyes. Her fingers had moved a bit before she fired. So instead of aiming at Sophia's chest, she aimed at her neck. The bullet tore through her throat, ripping out the entire flesh. Blood flowed endlessly down her chest like a river, soaking her shirt. Gradually, the light in her eyes dimmed out and she lay there. Dead. The dungeon was exactly as Isabella remembered it the last time Antonio took her there, the day he tortured one of Don Russo's men. It had a high ceiling, thick chains suspended from every part of it. The walls were covered with black tiles, making it impossible to climb. There were twelve cells in total, spaced apart from each other with hard bronze gates. One of Antonio's bodyguard, Luca, led the way, holding a square shaped device in his hand. As Isabella walked down the passage with Antonio, she spotted Pedro in one of the cells. The chains around his body held him suspended in the air, with both his arms stretched apart. He looked terrible. Bruises lined his face, and one of his eyes was swollen shut. He was unconscious. Antonio stopped at the last cell, and Isabella finally saw her aunt. Antonio looked like he had seen a ghost. Pedro was still alive? "You fucking undead bastard." He muttered. "In the flesh and blood." Pedro replied, grinning like a maniac. But even his voice was strained with pain. Blood bubbled through the wound on his arm as he pressed on it. "Signòre?" Marcello called as he pressed his gun on Pedro's head, waiting for Antonio to give the order. Pedro leaned against the wall and laughed, a soulless sound which had no humour in it. "What are your orders, Antonio?" He groaned painfully, looking Antonio dead in the eyes. "Are you going to kill me a second time? Maybe I'll die for real this time."But Antonio had other plans for him. He turned away, taking Isabella with him. "Bring him with you." He ordered. "He'll die, but it will be a slow and painful one."He turned to Montero and nodded. "We're through here." He muttered. "What the hell?" Isabella whispered in annoyance. The apartment was pitch black, except for the occasional flashes of lightning which brightened the sky. An hour later, Isabella could feel the sugar pill working over time. Her senses heightened, and every part of her body became sensitive. Beside her, Esmee stood on the couch, screaming along with the music booming from the speakers. Anita and Annika were sprawled on the floor, laughing hysterically. Those two were gone already.
