As she stood behind the curtains of the club’s VIP showroom, she knew she was next in line. She stood with the other remaining girls about her age, all dressed in milk-colored robes, awaiting their turn to be called by their name tags. She was tagged "The Slender Beauty" with a starting price of five million dollar.
Slender Beauty had initially asked why she was priced higher. According to the boss, she was a unique product, and the buyers would devour themselves to have her. "Seven hundred thousand dollars," one of the guests in the showroom staked in for the girl tagged "Burning Desire." "Eight hundred thousand dollars," another guest staked. "One million dollars," followed by another. "Two million dollars." Slender Beauty felt a wave of disgust grow through her veins as she listened, still standing behind the curtains and waiting her turn. She wasn’t the only girl waiting. There were other girls with her behind the curtains, each with their own name tag, awaiting their turn as well. They could hear everything happening in the VIP showroom. Whenever one of the girls was auctioned, they shivered and fidgeted in fear time was ticking, and any one of them could be next. "Two million dollars! Do we have another bidder here?" Cassius asked. Cassius also known as The Boss was an effeminate man who managed the underground club. He had groomed the girls and taught them everything they needed to know to appeal to his guests. At this moment, based on what Cassius had told them, the girls knew exactly how their fate would end, in the bed of the highest bidder, who would take delight in exploring them to fulfill their sexual fantasies. A familiar silence fell over the VIP showroom after the last bidder’s price was mentioned. The other guests who hadn’t placed their bids took their time to observe the female features of the girl before deciding if she suited their desires. Then, based on their assessment, they would bid higher. "Burning Desire" one of the girls still being auctioned was exposed, her breasts bare, wearing only a G-string as she stood in front of the bidders who were still assessing her. She was consumed by shame, unable to look at their faces. When nobody showed further interest, Cassius stamped a tag on the nameplate hanging from her neck. The stamp indicated that she was purchased; finally for $2 million. She was then immediately taken away. "The next product we have here is Slender Beauty... incoming," Cassius announced with a devious smirk, his eyes darting toward the curtains. Slender Beauty’s heart skipped a beat when she heard her name and the word "incoming" a code to reveal herself. But she ignored it. She was supposed to step out and walk as she had been instructed. Cassius stood patiently, waiting for her to reveal herself. "When I say 'incoming,' I mean come in and let your assets be seen," he emphasized, indirectly signaling to her in case she had forgotten. He knew for sure she was standing behind the curtains and that she could hear him. He stood for a while, smiling sheepishly, watching the curtains while the eager guests waited. Yet, she was nowhere to be seen. This delay angered him. "That brat better have a really good excuse," he muttered to himself, his teeth clenched and a wide grin spreading across his face. "Ingrate," he whispered, then walked out of the showroom, flashing a half-witted smile to assure his guests that all was in order. When Cassius approached Slender Beauty behind the curtains, he was furious. "What's your excuse for not showing up?" he shrieked. She stood still in her high heels, exchanging deep, hate-filled looks with him. "I can't go out there," she said boldly, a sudden surge of audacity she hadn't known she possessed. Something in her made her realize that she wasn’t just a girl from the brothel, abandoned by her mother when she was little a story Cassius had told her ever since she questioned her existence in his sordid whorehouse "I don't have time for this. The moment I announce, you step in," he roared. "I can't show up naked. I deserve better than this life," she said. He laughed mockingly, shaking his head in disbelief. "You think you are high and mighty? Better than the other girls? Not at all, my darling. You are just a filthy brat who only cares about herself." Slender Beauty snapped back, her voice almost teary. "That's not true! I care about everyone, but you made this difficult for us!" "No, darling. You are the one making it difficult for yourself," he flared up, breathing heavily. "Now," he said, taking a deep breath, "kindly step out there when I call you, and don’t let those incoming crocodile tears mess you up. "I am never going out there," she said, facing him head-on. While still maintaining eye contact with her, Cassius signaled by snapping his fingers. Suddenly, two bodyguards appeared, taking hold of her. The other girls were instantly gripped with terror and consumed with anxiety. They knew what the boss was capable of, torture. The sight of those bodyguards traumatized them further, knowing what they had been through at their hands beforeValeria stood on the balcony of her office, smoking a cigarette. She was reeling from the wave of dissatisfaction that followed after storming out of the conference room. The meeting had continued without her, and it infuriated her to know that Leonardo no longer cared about her opinion. She seethed with anger, knowing that Scarlet had replaced her, not only in cartel decisions but also in Leonardo's heart. Leonardo entered his office with Scarlet after the meeting ended. He was quite impressed with the way Scarlet had handled things and was open to understanding her opinions better, especially her cryptic statement: 'The traitor will turn out useful in the long run.' "I will have to question him, but first, we need to keep him in isolation," Scarlet began the moment they stepped in. "Why? Besides, how is that going to help?" Leonardo questioned, intrigued. "I want to play with his mind," Scarlet said simply. "How?" Leonardo ask
Scarlet, on the other hand, was impressed to see a woman in the team. She wondered what had taken Leonardo so long to introduce her. Now, at least, she had someone like her in the cartel. "No need for much introduction, I suppose," Leonardo started. "This is Scarlet Blackwood. She will now be a contributing factor to this organization." A murmur rippled across the room. Leonardo exhaled, watching them closely. The murmurs ceased immediately. He moved toward the window, gazing out at the cityscape. "You see, this organization is structured like a pyramid," he continued, indirectly referring to Scarlet but making it seem as if he was addressing everyone. "There is the Don; which is me. The Consigliere; her name is Valeria Thompson," he said, acknowledging her. "She is my advisor. She can be very calculating and brilliant, persistent and sinister with her decisions." Scarlet nodded, taking proper note of Valeria. From her pois
Leonardo and Scarlet were cuddled up in a sweet, cozy sleep in the master bedroom when the alarm beeped. Leonardo grunted, stretching his hand to disengage it. He couldn't come to terms with the fact that it had been a week since he'd last stepped out of his mansion. He had been so entangled in the pleasure of spending time with Scarlet, exploring the essence of satisfying each other's desires. Not until his phone rang did he jerk up; whatever call came in after this long week away from business was definitely important, he thought to himself before answering."You know it's been a week since you came around the cartel headquarters," Valeria inquired, her voice laced with disapproval."That's why you exist. I trust you are putting things in place," Leonardo replied."You've changed lately. I just wish you could go back to how we were before," she said.Leonardo exhaled, not wanting to have this talk again. Besides, maybe she was right, things had
She halted outside of Leonardo's study, leaning her back against the cold wall, careful to remain hidden.A muffled response from the call followed, one of his men was trying to explain. "We moved too much, too fast. The Feds caught wind of the pattern. If we don’t shift the funds soon, they’ll freeze everything."Leonardo exhaled sharply, his frustration evident. "Damn it. If those funds get locked, we lose millions. The entire operation takes a hit."Scarlet’s mind raced. A flagged account? What kind of trouble had Leonardo gotten himself into? She knew he was involved in the mafia drug trade, but she had never seen him this agitated.Silence filled the room. Leonardo was likely contemplating his next move.To Scarlet, this was an opportunity. A chance to step in and, at the very least, offer a solution. She knew nothing about the mafia underworld, but maybe Leonardo could teach her instead of keeping her isolated in his mansion.
Scarlet had become well-acquainted with the surroundings of the lakeside mansion. She had access to the serene lakefront, complete with a private dock perfect for fishing. The manicured lawns and mountainous landscape were breathtaking. Inside, the mansion boasted a private movie theater and a lavish indoor pool designed for relaxation. A fully equipped gym and yoga studio with mirrored walls and hardwood floors provided ample space for exercise. Additionally, a climate-controlled wine cellar and tasting room housed an extensive collection of fine wines. The advanced smart home system controlled lighting, temperature, security, and entertainment seamlessly. There was nothing Scarlet desired that wasn't already within the mansion. It was a world of its own. Yet, despite its grandeur, she still felt like a prisoner in a golden cage, where the bars were invisible, but the chains were real. She longed to step beyond the lakeside, to escape into the bustling city, to lose herself
When Leonardo arrived at his lakeside mansion, he brought Scarlet with him. She was blindfolded. Cassius had insisted on the blindfold to prevent her from recognizing the route to the clubhouse, he had to protect the reputation of his business. However, Leonardo had a different plan. He wanted to keep Scarlet safe and away from the city until he was certain it was safe for her to return. From Cassius, Leonardo had learned that ever since Scarlet inherited her family’s fortune after her parents' passing, her relatives had cut ties with her in a bid to seize control of the Blackwood Finance Empire. Scarlet barely remembered her background anymore her memory of her real identity was vague, except for one thing: she knew her name. The only truth she was familiar with was the one she had been told—that her mother had sold her into Cassius’s hands. But Leonardo had uncovered the lies. He was determined to erase the falsehoods surrounding Scarlet’s identity. He would take care of her, protec
