Scarlet had become well-acquainted with the surroundings of the lakeside mansion.

She had access to the serene lakefront, complete with a private dock perfect for fishing. The manicured lawns and mountainous landscape were breathtaking.

Inside, the mansion boasted a private movie theater and a lavish indoor pool designed for relaxation. A fully equipped gym and yoga studio with mirrored walls and hardwood floors provided ample space for exercise. Additionally, a climate-controlled wine cellar and tasting room housed an extensive collection of fine wines. The advanced smart home system controlled lighting, temperature, security, and entertainment seamlessly.

There was nothing Scarlet desired that wasn't already within the mansion. It was a world of its own.

Valeria stood on the balcony of her office, smoking a cigarette. She was reeling from the wave of dissatisfaction that followed after storming out of the conference room. The meeting had continued without her, and it infuriated her to know that Leonardo no longer cared about her opinion. She seethed with anger, knowing that Scarlet had replaced her, not only in cartel decisions but also in Leonardo's heart. Leonardo entered his office with Scarlet after the meeting ended. He was quite impressed with the way Scarlet had handled things and was open to understanding her opinions better, especially her cryptic statement: 'The traitor will turn out useful in the long run.' "I will have to question him, but first, we need to keep him in isolation," Scarlet began the moment they stepped in. "Why? Besides, how is that going to help?" Leonardo questioned, intrigued. "I want to play with his mind," Scarlet said simply. "How?" Leonardo ask

Scarlet, on the other hand, was impressed to see a woman in the team. She wondered what had taken Leonardo so long to introduce her. Now, at least, she had someone like her in the cartel. "No need for much introduction, I suppose," Leonardo started. "This is Scarlet Blackwood. She will now be a contributing factor to this organization." A murmur rippled across the room. Leonardo exhaled, watching them closely. The murmurs ceased immediately. He moved toward the window, gazing out at the cityscape. "You see, this organization is structured like a pyramid," he continued, indirectly referring to Scarlet but making it seem as if he was addressing everyone. "There is the Don; which is me. The Consigliere; her name is Valeria Thompson," he said, acknowledging her. "She is my advisor. She can be very calculating and brilliant, persistent and sinister with her decisions." Scarlet nodded, taking proper note of Valeria. From her pois

Leonardo and Scarlet were cuddled up in a sweet, cozy sleep in the master bedroom when the alarm beeped. Leonardo grunted, stretching his hand to disengage it. He couldn't come to terms with the fact that it had been a week since he'd last stepped out of his mansion. He had been so entangled in the pleasure of spending time with Scarlet, exploring the essence of satisfying each other's desires. Not until his phone rang did he jerk up; whatever call came in after this long week away from business was definitely important, he thought to himself before answering."You know it's been a week since you came around the cartel headquarters," Valeria inquired, her voice laced with disapproval."That's why you exist. I trust you are putting things in place," Leonardo replied."You've changed lately. I just wish you could go back to how we were before," she said.Leonardo exhaled, not wanting to have this talk again. Besides, maybe she was right, things had

She halted outside of Leonardo's study, leaning her back against the cold wall, careful to remain hidden.A muffled response from the call followed, one of his men was trying to explain. "We moved too much, too fast. The Feds caught wind of the pattern. If we don’t shift the funds soon, they’ll freeze everything."Leonardo exhaled sharply, his frustration evident. "Damn it. If those funds get locked, we lose millions. The entire operation takes a hit."Scarlet’s mind raced. A flagged account? What kind of trouble had Leonardo gotten himself into? She knew he was involved in the mafia drug trade, but she had never seen him this agitated.Silence filled the room. Leonardo was likely contemplating his next move.To Scarlet, this was an opportunity. A chance to step in and, at the very least, offer a solution. She knew nothing about the mafia underworld, but maybe Leonardo could teach her instead of keeping her isolated in his mansion.
