Kanaya was startled when she heard the loud bang of the door. She immediately woke up with a frightened look on her face.

Lucas, who turned out to be the one who banged on the door, entered, staggering.

Naya knew that her husband was drunk because she could smell alcohol on his breath. Naya slowly got out of bed and helped Lucas lie down.

"Don't touch me, you cheap woman! You better stay away from me!" Lucas snapped as he pushed Naya's hand away.

Naya, not wanting her husband to fall because he was unsteady on his feet, held him again until Lucas finally sat down on the edge of the bed.

"I'll get you a warm drink, Mr. Lucas," said Naya, still sounding afraid.

"Wait!" Lucas suddenly grabbed Naya's arm tightly.

Naya was immediately frightened, tears welling up in her eyes. She was very afraid when her husband acted this way.

"Don't you dare leave my presence without my permission. You are just a cheap woman that I consider my servant. So, everything you do must be on my orders."

Naya could only nod slowly, even though her heart ached to hear what her husband said.

Lucas lowered his legs and sat on the edge of the bed. He slowly unbuttoned his shirt, revealing his six-pack abs.

Naya was confused by what Lucas was doing. She stood frozen in front of her husband, who was now staring at her from head to toe.

"Take off your clothes." Lucas's command was casual, but for some reason, it sounded terrifying to Naya's ears.

"What?"

"Are you deaf? Or do I need to open it for you?"

"But, sir." Naya held her clothes tightly as if Lucas was really going to open them.

"Are you disgusted at having to undress in front of your husband? Haven't you always liked to tease the men at the brothel? You cheap woman." Lucas smiled as if he was looking down on Naya.

"I'm not a cheap woman. I can still maintain my honor as Mr. Lucas's wife," said Naya, her lips trembling as tears streamed down her face.

Instead of pity, Lucas immediately pulled Naya and grabbed her neck tightly as if he were torturing his enemy.

"Don't talk to me about honor. Women from entertainment venues don't deserve honor. It's true that you were a virgin when you married me, but how many men have touched your dirty body? You are just like my mother and Miranda!"

Lucas pushed Naya so hard that her body crashed into the table there.

Naya whimpered in pain, holding her waist, which was certainly hurting from the hard collision with the iron table there.

"Get out of my room!" Lucas snapped, causing Naya to immediately limp out of Lucas's room.

Naya walked slowly, looking for a place to sit.

"Ouch, it hurts," moaned Nara, holding her waist.

She slowly wiped the tears from her cheeks. Naya didn't want to show her sadness to the other people on the private jet.

"Here's a handkerchief to wipe your tears, Nay." Bayu's hand suddenly reached out from behind Naya.

"Mr. Bayu?" Naya was surprised, but finally accepted the handkerchief.

Bayu sat right in front of Naya. The man looked at Naya with a concerned expression.

"You don't need to tell me because I already know what happened to you. Mr. Lucas must have been rude to you again."

"I don't know what I did wrong. I just want to be a good wife to Mr. Lucas because I want to repay Grandma Louisa's kindness to me." Naya wiped her tears again with Bayu's handkerchief.

"Mr. Lucas has experienced many painful things. His mother left him and his father when he was a child for another man, and Mr. Lucas's father ended up taking his own life. His girlfriend Miranda also cheated on him with his cousin, Leo. I just found out about it."

Naya was stunned to hear what her husband's personal assistant had to say.

"Back when he was a teenager, Mr. Lucas was often bullied by his friends and was even hospitalized once because he was tortured by his senior," continued Bayu.

"Huh?" The word of surprise slipped out of Naya's mouth.

Naya never imagined that this cold, rude, and arrogant man had been bullied and tortured. Nara thought that Lucas was the one who was cruel to his friends.

"Everything that happened to him in the past changed Mr. Lucas.

"But, isn't he famous for being a mafia boss?" said Naya fearfully.

Bayu nodded as he slowly leaned his back against the airplane seat. He folded his arms and looked at Naya calmly.

"Mr. Lucas' grandfather changed him, as well as his very painful past. Everyone can change due to the pressures of circumstances, Naya."

"But, whatever happened to Mr. Lucas, do I have to be his scapegoat?"

"Of course not, Naya. Your presence here is wrong, but it could also be that your presence was destined."

Naya was silent for a moment.

"Do you want to think about divorcing Mr. Lucas?"

"What?" Naya's reverie was shattered by Bayu's question.

"You're scared and definitely want to divorce Mr. Lucas," Bayu said again.

Naya shook her head slowly. "I don't have any thoughts like that, Mr. Bayu. I will keep my promise to my grandmother, even if I die at Mr. Lucas's hands, I will not regret it because my life has no purpose other than being Mr. Lucas's wife. I have no one else in this world."

Bayu was a little surprised to hear Naya's words, especially since she said them with a sweet, sincere smile.

"Tell me about yourself, Naya."

"Nothing special. I'm just an orphan. Both my parents died in an accident, and then my uncle and aunt were asked to take care of me." Naya fell silent.

"Why are you silent, Naya? Continue, I'm starting to like hearing your story."

"My uncle and aunt did take me into their home, but only to be their servant. I was also almost molested by my own uncle when my aunt wasn't home. I tried to tell my aunt, but she thought I was slandering my uncle, and she even beat me."

"What? Then, you didn't try to run away from home?" Bayu moved closer to her.

"I didn't know where to go, Bayu. I also wanted to finish school first. I wanted to graduate and then get a job so I could leave that house. Then one day, my uncle suddenly took me somewhere and it turned out that I was sold to a brothel to pay off his gambling debts."

"Until you finally met Grandma Louisa. But how did Grandma end up meeting you at the entertainment house?" Bayu looked at Naya curiously.

"Let’s lure him out."Bayu nodded slowly. He’d been working for Lucas long enough to know exactly how the man thought."Are you planning to use Mrs. Kanaya as bait?" he asked cautiously.Lucas’s gaze immediately turned sharp. "Don’t ever say that again."Bayu immediately bowed his head. “I’m sorry, sir.”“I won’t risk Kanaya’s safety or the children’s just to catch Raymond.”“Then how are we going to do it?”Lucas turned back to the window. “Raymond still loves Kanaya.” Bayu didn’t deny it. “And a man who’s obsessed will always make mistakes.”Lucas picked up his cell phone and called someone. Bayu stood waiting for instructions from Lucas. “Make sure the news spreads by tomorrow morning, Bayu,” Lucas said after hanging up. “What news, sir?” Bayu’s face instantly showed confusion. Lucas gave a faint smile. “The news that I’m taking Kanaya and the kids to Dinov’s company anniversary party.”Bayu immediately understood his boss’s intention. Lucas was deliberately giving Raymond a cha

That night, the atmosphere in the mansion felt far quieter than usual. Kanaya stood on the bedroom balcony, staring at the dark, starless sky. A soft night breeze swept through, brushing against her loose hair. But the cold in the air was nothing compared to the coldness filling her heart. Everything had been revealed. The truth she had been waiting for had finally come. Yet strangely, it wasn’t only relief she felt. The pain was still there, even more vivid than before. The bedroom door slowly opened. Lucas stepped inside with cautious movements, as if afraid to disturb her. His eyes fell on Kanaya’s fragile back under the dim light. “I know you’re still awake,” he said softly. Kanaya didn’t turn right away. “I don’t know what I’m supposed to feel right now.” Lucas fell silent. “I was right all along,” Kanaya continued, her voice trembling. “I didn’t betray you, but you still drove me away, Lucas.” Every word felt like a blade cutting through her. “I lost everything back then,

Bayu walked casually into a quiet café. He only intended to grab a cup of coffee before returning to the mansion. However, his steps halted when his ears caught a very familiar name. “Come on, Gio. I’m just curious, where did you get that much money?” Bayu slightly turned toward the source of the voice. A man sat with his back to him, while a beautiful woman sat across from him, her expression full of curiosity. “Amanda, you don’t need to know everything,” the man replied casually. Bayu narrowed his eyes. That voice was familiar. He began listening more closely to their conversation. “I have the right to know!” the woman insisted. “You took me on a trip abroad, even threw that extravagant engagement party. That’s not something small, Gio!” The name made Bayu freeze. Gio? Could this be the same person who had once destroyed Lucas and Kanaya’s relationship? Bayu slowly moved closer and sat at a nearby table, pretending to be busy with his phone, though all his attention was on th

For the first time in a long while, the atmosphere in Lucas’s mansion felt warm. Kanaya sat on the sofa while her two children played on the floor, and Lucas watched them with a faint smile. Everything seemed peaceful. Hayden laughed as Hailey pretended to feed her doll, while Kanaya observed them with a sense of relief. “I’m happy to see you all like this,” Lucas said softly, his voice gentle yet firm. “Now, we can start building our lives again.” Kanaya gave a small smile as she looked at him. “I also… feel safe now. Thank you for explaining everything, Lucas.” Yet deep inside, guilt still lingered in her heart. Raymond was the one on her mind now, more precisely, what he must be going through after the wedding that had been suddenly destroyed. Not long after, the sound of a car slowing down came from outside the mansion. Kanaya turned her head, suddenly alert. She didn’t know why, but her heart felt uneasy. The front door opened, and a handsome man with a serious expression st

Lucas stood facing Raymond. The tension between the two men was palpable, and Kanaya, standing nearby, could only watch with growing concern at what Lucas might do. “Your marriage to Kanaya will not happen. If you proceed, someone will die here,” Lucas said, his eyes sharp and unyielding. The room immediately fell silent. Guests whispered nervously among themselves, some stepping back slowly, fearful that the situation could spiral out of control. Raymond’s lips curled into a faint, confident smile, though his jaw tightened. “Do you think I’ll back down just because of a cheap threat like that, Mr. Dinov?” Lucas took a step closer, exuding a cold aura that seemed to fill the entire room. “This isn’t a threat, Ray. It’s your final warning.” Kanaya clutched her gown tightly. Her heart pounded. She knew Lucas well—he never played around with his words. “Lucas, stop!” Kanaya’s voice finally broke the tension. “This isn’t the place for this.” Lucas turned to her, his gaze softening
