ANMELDENSabrina’s POV
I watched as Celine walked out of the mall, a pleasant smile spread across my face. I relaxed back and turned to the manager in front of me. “Well, what are you waiting for?” I snapped angrily. They all nodded and scurry away. My friends exchanged nervous glances as they watched me settle into the chair. “Sabrina, are you sure this is okay?” one of them finally asked cautiously. “I mean…Dave Monstessori cherishes Celine so much” My face hardened instantly. “What are you trying to say?” I snapped. She quickly shook her head. “Nothing. I didn’t mean…” I cut her off angrily. “Dave is going to be my husband soon. How long do you think he would keep that orphan by his side?” The room fell silent. They all thought for a moment before nodding quickly. “You’re right. She’s nothing but a spoilt brat” “She’s nothing. You are going to be the Boss lady” I smiled, loving the same of that. Celine Sawyer’s father was merely a merchant for the Mafias. Dave was only being too kind taking her in. Besides, the Marinos and Montessori families are forming an alliance. There was no way he would chose her over me. I relaxed to enjoy the moment. The dresses were brought and I leaned back in the chair, my fingers brushed over one of the dresses as my thoughts drifted back to an hour ago. Dave had suddenly asked me to come to the mall. It was strange. Just days ago, he had ordered me never to show up at his house without his permission. I had been furious about it, but now he was the one sending me here. It was clearly to upset Celine. What was he trying to do? I wondered. A slow smirk tugged at my lips. Maybe he had finally realized that Celine wasn’t the innocent little girl he though she was. And he was trying to discard her now. My eyes gleamed with satisfaction as I picked another dress. If that was the case, I could hardly wait to see what happened next. ** Dave’s POV I sat in my office staring at the computer screen, bold and clear. I watched Celine storm out of the mall, her steps quick and angry. I swallowed a little, afraid this was a bad mistake. ”Are the guards watching her?” I asked, lifting my head for a second away from the screen. Jeff nodded. “Yes. They’re keeping an eye on her” I heaved and continued watching her. Over the years, I’ve always spoil her, too much. Now, it’s time to cut off some of the affections so it won’t cause trouble like what happened. Right now, she’s probably cussing me out. I relaxed slightly still staring calmly at the screen. Just then, a black sport car stopped in front of her, I quickly tensed up, afraid it might be another attack. One of her friends came out from the car, I waited curious to know what they were saying. But suddenly, Celine got into the driver’s seat. My gaze squeezed up in a tight frown. She wasn’t supposed to drive. I had refused to let her drive because it was too dangerous. She could get injured, especially with how reckless she was. “When did she learn how to drive?” I glanced at Jeff. He shook his head immediately. “You’re the one who taught her” he reminded. I’ve only taught her four times, when she threw a tantrum and demanded she wanted to learn how. My jaw tightened as the engine roared to life. As the car sped away, something inside me dropped. I suddenly remembered the last time I had upset her. She had run out of the house in the middle of the night and ended up hurting herself just to punish me. It felt familiar, and my chest tightened. “Get the cars!” I ordered immediately. I rushed out of my seat and strode toward the exit, my men followed immediately. I took out my phone and dialed her number quickly. I had to find her before she did something reckless again. ** I spotted the black sport car ahead of me, weaving through the traffic. I hit the horn repeatedly. “Celine, pull over!” She glanced into the rear-view mirror and saw my car behind her, followed by several black vehicles carrying my men. Her expression remained hardened. Instead of stopping, she lowered her window slightly and shouted over the noise of the road. “Did you not do this on purpose? You should have thought about the consequences before upsetting me” she yelled. My jaw tightened. That stubborn girl, I grunted. “Stop the car before I get really mad” I threatened. She accelerated, ignoring me. My heart lurched in a panic. I folllowed after her, keeping enough distance between us while refusing to let her disappear from my sight. “Fine” I shouted through the open window. I knew I couldn’t win her over by being stubborn too. “I’m sorry! I won’t do it again, so stop the car!” She didn’t listen. Neither did she stop. Hearing the panic in my voice formed a smirk on her face. The car speed shot high again. My blood ran cold, thinking of what might happen if she suddenly lose control. A truck appeared ahead of her, and I bellowed her name. “Celine!” Her brakes screeched as she reached just in time. The sports car came to a sudden stop, and I slammed on my own brakes behind her. Before my car had completely settled, I was already out. I ran toward her yelling her name. “Celine!” I yanked open her door and pulled her into my arms. For several seconds, I couldn’t say anything. My heart pounded violently, I had almost lost her, again. The thought alone made my arms tighten around her. She tapped me feeling breathless after sometime. I let go of her, still holding her cheeks hard in my palms. My eyes glared furiously at her. How could she play around with her life so easily? What if she hadn’t managed to stop the car? The more I thought about it, the more my anger boiled. “You…?” I gritted. She stared at me, unafraid. “It’s all your fault” she stated. I took a deep breath and forced myself to calm down before I totally lost it. I grabbed her hand tightly. “Come with me” I pulled her but she resisted “No. I still don’t want to talk to you” she yelled after me. I bent down, lifted her on to my shoulder and carried her toward my car despite her protests. “Dave! Put me down!” she hit me. I ignored her tantrum and opened the back door, I threw it into the car and shut it fast. She glared at me through the window, punching hard at it. Jeff hurried over. “Boss…” “No one follows us” I ordered. I got into the driver’s seat, started the engine and drove away leaving my men behind. My hands tightened around the wheel as speed off with her.Celine's POVFaye grabbed my glass and glared at me."Boss will kill me if you go back home drunk," she said.I scoffed, and pushed her hand off."Don't be uncool now," I took a mouthful of the drink. It's sweet, yet intoxicating. Just like how Dave's lips tasted.I wanted to drink more, but Faye stopped me again."You can have fun without getting drunk," she said.I sighed and tried to grab the drink away, but she beat me to it and drank it down.A little chuckle left my lips. I rested my hand on the table and my face on my palm."You know, I didn't like you at first," I blurted. "I thought you'd be another Sabrina.""That bitch," I cussed, heat rising on my face in hate as I thought of her.Faye poured herself another drink. "She really is."My eyes flashed up hearing her agree with me. A happy chuckle escaped me as I lifted my head up."You think so too? Annoyingly, Dave didn't think that."I said, my face turning blue. The moment was interrupted by Tyra, who appeared with three gu
Celine's POVI pulled at Dave's arm to stop him, but he was just too stubborn. He had insisted on walking me right to the classroom. I looked frantically around as a few students glanced in our direction, murmuring as they walked past. When we got to the classroom, he let go of my hand and turned to me. "Faye will be waiting for you. Don't go anywhere else," he said.I wanted to refuse, but I nodded. The lecturer was coming in now. I pulled away from him and hurried into class. I found Tyra and quickly sat beside her, my gaze shifting to the door, Dave was still standing there.I noticed the attention he was getting without even making an effort, and a jealous frown crept onto my face. Then I decided to do something, to show that he was already mine.I looked in his direction and blew a hard, loud kiss at him before giving a flirtatious wink. That caught everyone's attention and they all turned to me; some immediately wore an upset expression while others became jealous."Girl, you're
Celine's POVI continued to walk ahead and Faye followed behind. When I saw that she was close enough, I halted suddenly and turned to confront her."I have to go this way," Faye spoke before I could.I blinked, surprised. She didn't wait, and turned to the left and began to walk away. Was I wrong? I scrunched up my face. Did he really let me go without a guard? I should feel good, but crazily, I felt upset.Just as I stomped my feet and was about to continue, Ethan suddenly appeared. I almost jumped backward, a frown invading my expression. Before I could think to scream, the boys with him charged forward and covered my mouth. They dragged me with them and stopped at a secluded place, throwing me against the wall."We meet again," Ethan said, moving forward. My feet shifted back slowly, watching my steps and looking for a direction to escape. "Unfortunately," I muttered. He chuckled, the sound making my face scowl harder."You still owe me, Celine Sawyer," his voice turned hostile ag
Dave's POVThe moment Celine walked back inside, I turned to Faye."She doesn't seem to like you."Faye lifted her head and walked closer, standing beside Jeff."It will take time, but I will charm her soon," she replied.I nodded.Knowing how much Celine hates bodyguards, I needed a way to keep one closely by her side."Make sure she doesn't suspect anything," I added, and turned to Jeff.He handed me the report for the monthly data of our businesses in Atlantic City. The numbers were a bit disturbing, I might as well deal with that while I'm here.I still had my eyes focused on the screen when Celine walked back out.I moved to set down the tablet, glancing at her when my eyes caught what she was wearing. I stopped halfway. My eyes trailed from the curve of her shoulder down to the sway of the fabric against her waist.Heat crept up my neck and my throat felt dry, my hand tightened around the phone and I straightened. She put on a smile the second our gazes caught, a sweet, innocent
Dave's POVFuck! I really want to kiss her right now.The clothes she's wearing, I could see her body. The soft delicate skin seemed to glow the more I stared at her.I clutched my hand that rested against the dresser and tried to keep a hard expression to conceal what I was actually feeling."You can get angry at me, but never lock me out," I warned, staring in between her eyes. Her jaw tightened in anger as she tried to turn away from me again. I stopped her, yet my gaze flipped just for a second to her neck. That would be crazy, I told myself, but then I leaned down before I could stop myself and my lips crashed against her soft skin.I gave her a bite, restraining myself from actually tasting her. She seemed shocked and stiff for a moment, but she didn't stop me.That made me greedy for more. I lost control in the blink of an eye, and my grip tightened around her chin as I tilted her head a little for better access.I bit a little too hard and she let out a cry. I paused for a sec
Celine's POVBefore I could get a word out, he threw me over his shoulder. "Dave!" I yelled, punching his back. He didn't stop, nor did he let go.He took me to the car and threw me inside like I weighed nothing. I let out a grunt, just to deceive him, to make him think I was hurt, and that worked. He halted and moved closer.I ran a slap across his face immediately, breathing hard. "Stop trying to control my life," I bellowed.Dave clenched his jaw; he looked furious, but I didn't care. All I cared about was that he'd scared Max away, that he'd ruined my normal life. Now Max was going to spread rumors, and everyone would stay away from me again."What was that for?" he turned to me, jaw tightened."For scaring my boyfriend away. You have no right," I yelled at him.He moved fast and got into the car, forcing me to move in. His hands gripped the door behind me, and he glared into my eyes."Do you know your so-called boyfriend was sent to monitor you?"I paused for a second, searching
