The guard in front of me collapsed onto the floor with a loud groan.

My head snapped towards Louis, a harsh glare on my face.

I didn’t waste another breath on him as I turned towards the stairs in search of a certain man’s study.

“Freya, do not,” Louis warned from behind me, a hint of worry in his voice, but I did not fucking care.

“And now you suddenly care because?” I turned to him with a snarl. Louis looked startled at the rage in my eyes.

“Do not do anything stupid,” Louis said again, his hands in the air like he meant no harm.

My face scrunched up in pain. “All any of you have ever done was bully me, cripple me, abuse me verbally, abandon me, resent me, and point fingers at me when all I ever wanted from you all was a family. So why the fuck do you care if I do something stupid?” I screamed so loud I was certain most of the house could hear me.

I turned away from him and continued my search, every employee jumping out of the way at the sight of me. I had gone too far to stop now.

Louis was quiet for a moment. “Freya–”“it’s alright. It's enough that I have you back.” I swallowed, looking down at my lap. We're both quiet for a while as he continued to wheel me out the elevator.“Dad's waiting for you back home.” Louis told me like he was attempting to cheer me up.I nodded with a smile then something caught my eye.“Wait.” I called, watching the nurse who came towards me when everyone else was too scared to.She looked up in that moment and wide smile formed on her face nearly startling me.She basically ran towards me. Her grin growing even wider.“Oh my God. I'm so happy you're alright. Nearly gave me a heart attack there.” She said with a chuckle bending to my height on the wheel like she was speaking to a child. My eyes scanned her form. We looked to be around the same age.I looked at her like she was a weird creature. It was hard to see someone this concerned about someone else in my world.I noticed her eyes peek through her lashes at Louis behind me. I

The guard looked up at me in shock while I glared daggers at him. I wheeled myself back into the room, slamming the door on his shocked face. “Ughh.” I screeched loudly. I didn't plan to jump out the window. I was only bluffing but in my boredom. I wheeled myself closer to the large windows. Just watching and looking out the very beautiful view. It felt nice, the breeze blowing over my face. I sag there relaxing and waiting for that guard whose name I forgot to ask to get me the phone I demanded. The door to the room slammed open with such force, it could have come out it's hinges. I don't flinch, just sighed heavily. I turned slowly until I was facing a very furious Rino, still standing by the door. I raised a brow at him, aware I was provoking him even further but I couldn't care less. He had me locked up in here like I was some detainee. “Your life is mine.” He slammed the door shut with the same force, I was shocked it was still standing. “You have no right to casually tal

I blinked, once, twice. “She's what?” I stumbled over my words. “Like she peeled her eyes open?” I tried to force my aching limbs to sit up in shock but one hard glare from Rino and I froze. I remember now, she moved. When I was back at the hospital, she moved her fingers and her eyes twitched. My entire body felt heavy as I processed his words. My throat felt full. I blinked again. “Yes, she's awake.” He affirmed. I placed my hands upon my chest, it was full to the brim. It felt like it was going to overload and pour over. “C-can I see her?” I felt choked up, my blurry eyes looking up at a stoic Rino. He shook his head at me and my breath halted. “Not until you're well enough to walk.” He announced. I let out a choked sob. My body tightening, I didn't want to cry, I refuse to, not in front of him. Another racked through my body and Rino moved closer to me. His eyes alarmed. Why did he care? “Are you hurt?” His voice sounded urgent. “Freya?” He called, gripping my arms caref

We both froze, just staring like we couldn't look away. I really couldn't. Rino broke the contact first. His eyes dropping to his thighs and then back at me. He stood to his full height and then I noticed how rough his attire looked. His white shirt sleeves was rolled up his arm. Few buttons detached like they were done aggressively. The both sides of his shirt had blood stains on them. His hair looked a mess like he'd run his hands in them an unhealthy number of times. He looked recked. Rino never had a hair out of place…never. He took a step forward and then stopped like he was unsure what to do while I just laid there watching. He stood unsure. I would have raised a brow at him if I could. Rino unsure? “How are you feeling?” His deep, gruff voice resounded in the room. “Like I was run over by a truck.” I spoke, my voice hoarse. Rino raised a perfect brow at me. Like he couldn't believe I was joking right now. He moved closer with ease now until he was standing by my b

Freya's POV Pain. It was hot, Excruciating. It was like the air I breathed in. I've felt this kind of pain before, It's second nature to me, I've known it all my life. The physical, mental, and emotional pain. He said it was what I deserved, that there was no life without pain and we all had to take our share of it. We were whores, escorts and we should be ready to lay down our lives. No questions asked. I didn't want to. I was so tired of the years of pain and torture, I badly wanted to claw my way out of this. Pain rippled through my scalp, making me gasp for air. My hands reaching out to try and grab onto anything but only caught air. Relentless and desperate sobs racked from my being as I begged. “Alfredo please stop. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.” I was shaking so hard. “How dare you try to run?” He snarled, landing a resounding slap that cut through the room and my head snapped violently to the side. A metallic taste spread in my trembling mouth. I shook my head, de

“What did you say?” I asked, stepping forward to meet her. “i-it was a lady, she was being chased by a group men.” The woman tried to explain shakily. “They all had weird tattoos on.” She informed him and I nodded my head at her. The only reply I could muster before rushing out of the building, Louis on my tail. “Do you think she has been taken?” Louis breathed heavily like he just ran a mile. “Likely. Check all the security footage from the streets.” I barked. “King.” Enzo, one of my most trusted men hurried towards me. “The hospital garage footage showed Mrs. Gracia fleeing off in a car with other cars behind her.” I didn't wait for another word before jumping into my car. I zoomed off in my car, going in the closed off direction in the woods. My heart slamming against my ribcage. We could have avoided all of this if she had just sat her ass right where I told her to but no, Freya must always have her own way. With my heart slamming hard against my chest, my ears steaming fro
