The musty air inside the warehouse was thick with dust and diesel fumes. Shafts of sunlight slipped through the cracks in the rusted ceiling, cutting across crates of firearms marked with foreign stamps. Leonardo adjusted the cuffs of his black linen shirt, stepping around a crate with slow, measured confidence.

Domenico stood at his side, expression unreadable, arms crossed, and a Glock holstered beneath his leather jacket.

Anthony Gonsalvis lit a cheap cigar and grinned, the oily kind of grin Leonardo had always distrusted.

“Everything's here, Don Morelli,” Anthony said, waving a hand toward the open crates. “Fresh stock. No serials, no loose ends. Clean work.”

Leonardo gave him a long, quiet stare. “I don’t give a damn about the wrapping, Anthony. What’s the price?”

Numbers were exchanged, fake smiles offered. Domenico crouched beside a crate, pulling out a semi-automatic and inspecting the chamber. Everything seemed legit—too legit.

Then came the sound.

  • The Mafia's Substitute Bride   Chapter 373. Price Of Loving The Wrong Woman

Meanwhile, in Florence, Vittorio could hardly believe what he was seeing. The woman he had loved. The woman for whom he had ignored his first wife’s devotion and sacrifice. The woman for whom he had neglected his own children. Now stood before him with a gun pointed straight at his head.“Lillian… what’s wrong with you?” Vittorio asked hoarsely, shame thick in his voice. “How could you do this?”Soraya stood beside him, staring at Lillian with disbelief and quiet devastation — as if silently asking: Was this the woman you destroyed my life for?“If you had just signed over the properties and made Gino your heir, I wouldn’t have had to go this far,” Lillian said coldly, as if this bloodshed were his fault.“I’ve already given you everything you ever wanted,” Vittorio snapped back. “And if I refused anything, it was for you and our children’s safety. I kept Gino away from the mafia because this world is too dangerous.”The words hit Elena and Soraya like a slap.So this was the truth.

Even though he couldn't connect with anyone in Florence, his intuition told him that nothing happening there was right. Somehow, Cristiano’s worry was justified. He left without speaking to Vittorio—there was no time after receiving Siena’s message, and he knew that informing him later would only invite more trouble. Silently, he entrusted everything to fate and timing. But there were always opportunists lurking, waiting for the perfect moment. And this was the perfect chance for them to strike at the weakest point of the former mafia king, Vittorio Vitelli.Lillian had successfully turned Vittorio against Elena, exposing her affair with her bodyguard. Vittorio’s fury boiled over—first at his son, then at his daughter. He had Elena’s bodyguard beaten mercilessly and thrown into the mafia’s underground dungeon, while Elena herself was locked away in the mansion.Lillian wasn’t done. She demanded that her son, Gino, be made heir and the new Italian Don. But Vittorio refused. “Gino isn’t

Cristiano turned to look at Siena and found a storm of questions blazing openly in her eyes. But instead of answering, he faced forward again. The man in the driver’s seat glanced at her through the rearview mirror.“Drive. Hurry,” Cristiano ordered. The car shot forward, speeding down the road.Minutes passed. Siena’s frustration kept building, coiling tighter in her chest, until she could no longer contain it.“Is anyone going to tell me what’s going on?” she snapped.Cristiano and Fabio exchanged a brief glance. Fabio stayed silent.Cristiano spoke instead, his tone calm, almost maddeningly so. “Do you still not get it?”“Get what?” Siena shot back.He sighed, as if the answer should have been obvious. “How could anyone possibly take my wife out of my territory—right under my watch?” he said, lifting a brow.Siena froze. The pieces began falling into place. The rushed escape. The perfect timing. Fabio’s sudden presence. Everything she hadn’t questioned before. Her breath caught.

Cristiano’s eyes turned cold, his expression deadly, and Siena’s heart sank in gloom. “Your uncle… the Pakhan’s younger brother,” he replied, his voice stripped of all warmth.Siena finally let out the breath she had been holding, waiting for his answer.A wave of relief washed over her when she realized her father had not been responsible. Had he been, she would never have forgiven Cristiano—never. Yet she was still upset that Nikolai had protected the guilty instead of handing the culprit over to the Italian Mafia. He hadn’t punished his brother for assaulting and killing a woman, for dragging an innocent life into a brutal rivalry that was never hers to bear. And for that sin, Siena had paid the price.Years stolen. A life torn apart. Taken from her family and used as a pawn, all in the name of revenge that had never truly been hers.“Now hurry,” he ordered, impatience creeping in.She dragged a bag out from under the bed, its fabric scraping softly against the floor, and began st

After a while, Siena was fully dressed again. Cristiano was already pulling on his pants, tucking his shirt in with quick, practiced movements.“Siena, we’re leaving. Now,” he said quietly.“But how?” she whispered, then frowned as another thought struck her. “Why haven’t they started searching for you yet? Don’t they know you’re missing by now?”Cristiano’s mouth curved into a cold, knowing smirk. “Because your father didn’t keep me anywhere near this mansion.”Siena stiffened.“He kept me in a separate facility,” Cristiano continued. “A secure holding base. Far from here.”Siena’s eyes widened.Siena’s eyes widened in realization. When he saw the shock on her face, he nodded once, confirming it. “Yeah. That’s right. And I don’t feel bad about it—no matter what, we’re sworn enemies.” His voice hardened. “What hurt me was thinking you’d be safe with your father because he’s a powerful mafia leader. I was wrong. All he cared about was his reputation—not even his own children.”His jaw

His eyes narrowed, searching hers.“Are you kidding me, doll?!” His voice was deceptively calm, almost soft, but every word carried a storm. “You don’t know? Then why the hell did you send that text? You made me want to burn the whole world just for letting you go… cross seven oceans… face a thousand hells… just to bring you back to me.”“I still have a week until my next period, so I can’t be sure if I’m really pregnant. But I texted you,” she admitted, voice barely above a whisper, hesitating. “…because I wanted to see whether you’d come for me or not. ”He kissed her forehead, smiling softly. His doll was smarter than he thought of her—she knew exactly how to use his weakness. She was his weakness.“But if I hadn’t texted you… would you have really given up on me?” she asked, her lips pouting, a soft note of complaint in her voice.Cristiano sighed, resting his forehead against hers. “I don’t know, doll… but I’m glad you played that little trick, and I came for you.”“So… it means…
