Lina walked back to her room, her mind racing. The door clicked softly behind her as she entered. She didn’t turn on the lights; she didn’t need to. The room was dark, but it didn’t matter. She sat on the edge of her bed, staring at the floor, her hands shaking with frustration.

She had failed.

She thought she had it all figured out. She was sure that if she dressed the right way and said the right things, Damian would finally notice her. He would see her for what she was. She would be the one in control. But now, she was left with nothing but humiliation. She couldn’t understand it. How could he not want her? She was beautiful, confident, everything he could ever need. Why was he so focused on Aurora?

Aurora.

The thought of the maid sent a surge of anger through Lina’s veins. She was the problem, wasn’t she? The reason Damian wasn’t looking at Lina the way he should. She was the one who kept getting in the way. Aurora didn’t belong here. She was nothing, just a maid who was lucky eno

  • The Mafia's mistress (His temptation)    his anger

Damian's eyes burned with fury as he took a step toward Lina, his hands balled into tight fists at his sides. His heart was pounding in his chest, his thoughts spinning. He had known something was wrong, but hearing Lina's words made the air feel thick, suffocating. His body moved on instinct, and before Lina could take another breath, Damian grabbed her by the neck, lifting her off the ground and slamming her against the wall. Her breath hitched, her eyes wide with shock, but she didn't struggle as much as he expected. Maybe she was too surprised to react, or maybe she was finally realizing just how dangerous this situation had become.Damian leaned in close, his face inches from hers, his voice low and dangerous. “If anything happens to Aurora, Lina,” he growled, tightening his grip around her neck, “I swear to God, I will make you regret it.”Lina’s hands clawed at his wrist, trying to loosen his grip, but her efforts were weak. Her lips trembled as she tried to speak, her voice ba

Damian looked up at Lina, his eyes narrowing. There was something about her demeanor that felt off, but he couldn’t put his finger on it. She was standing a little too close, her smile a little too wide.“I’m fine,” he said, his voice cold. “Just... wondering where Aurora is.”Lina’s smile didn’t falter. “Oh, she’ll be fine. You know, sometimes people just need a little time to themselves.”Damian’s brows furrowed in suspicion. “She’s been gone too long for that. Where is she?”Lina’s expression softened, and she stepped closer to him, her hand lightly brushing his arm. “Damian, you worry too much. It’s just an errand. You’ve been overprotective of her from the start. Let her handle things on her own.”Damian didn’t respond immediately, his mind racing. The nagging feeling in his chest was growing stronger by the second. Something was wrong. He had trusted Lina’s words, but the emptiness in his gut told him to act, to do something, anything, before it was too late.Meanwhile, Aurora s

Aurora stood in the grand hall, her fingers clutching the edge of her apron nervously as Lina barked orders.“You’ll go into the city for me,” Lina said with a syrupy sweet smile that didn’t reach her cold eyes. “Pick up a package from the address I’ll give you.”Aurora blinked in surprise. She had never been sent out of the mansion before. The thought of leaving, even for a brief errand, unsettled her.“I’ve never done this before,” Aurora said hesitantly.Lina’s smile grew sharper. “There’s a first time for everything, isn’t there? It’s a simple task, Aurora. Or is even this beyond you?”Damian, who had been silently observing from the doorway, stepped in. His dark eyes bore into Lina. “Aurora doesn’t go out. Send someone else.”Lina raised a perfectly arched brow. “Why? Is she so fragile she can’t run an errand? Or are you afraid she’ll run away?”Damian’s jaw tightened. His hands clenched at his sides, but he didn’t respond immediately. He turned to Aurora instead. “You don’t have

  • The Mafia's mistress (His temptation)    The tension grows

Aurora had been in the room all morning, pacing back and forth. Her thoughts were tangled, her mind racing. She couldn’t stop thinking about the way Damian had been acting lately. His coldness, his distant demeanor it was like he was a completely different person. She paused by the window, staring out at the garden. The sun was shining, but it felt like everything around her was dark. She wasn’t sure what to do anymore. Every step she took seemed to be leading her into more trouble.Suddenly, there was a knock at the door."Aurora?" It was Damian’s voice, low and calm, but there was something else there. Something that made her heart skip a beat. She quickly wiped her face, making sure she didn’t look like she’d been crying. "Come in," she said, trying to sound normal.Damian stepped inside, his eyes locking onto hers. For a moment, they just stood there, staring at each other. Then, without a word, he walked over to her."Why are you looking so upset?" he asked, his voice quieter tha

  • The Mafia's mistress (His temptation)    Raphael's sweet talks

Emma was sitting in the garden, enjoying the soft breeze and the quiet around her. She had been trying to keep her mind off all the drama lately Lina’s schemes, Damian’s cold behavior, and her own feelings that she couldn’t quite understand. The garden was her escape, a place where she could breathe and not think about anyone else. She didn’t hear Raphael approaching until he spoke.“You look peaceful here,” he said smoothly, his voice soft but clear.Emma jumped slightly, startled by the sudden sound. She turned to see Raphael standing a few feet away, leaning casually against a tree. He looked calm, almost too calm, with that easy smile on his face that she didn’t trust.“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you,” he said, stepping closer.Emma frowned but stayed seated. She wasn’t sure what he wanted, but she didn’t trust him. “What do you want?” she asked, her tone guarded.Raphael chuckled softly. “No need to be so defensive, Emma. I just wanted to talk. You looked lonely out here.”“I’

  • The Mafia's mistress (His temptation)    The library encounter

Damian walked through the halls, his mind focused on one thing, which was Aurora. He hadn’t seen her much today, and that bothered him. He needed to talk to her, and there was something about the way she’d been acting, that made him want to be close to her again. He couldn't get rid of the feeling that something had changed between them.As he passed the hallway, he saw Aurora near the staircase, walking toward the garden. His heart raised, and without thinking, he went after her.“Aurora,” he called out.She stopped and turned around, her eyes locking with his. There was a mix of surprise and wariness in her expression. She didn’t seem as excited to see him as he thought she would.Damian stepped closer to her. “Come with me,” he said, his voice low, filled urgency. He grabbed her wrist gently but firmly, pulling her toward the library without waiting for her response.Aurora hesitated but didn’t pull away. She knew better than to resist him when he was in one of his moods. They rea
