Chapter 27 - Mason
I look at Ford as soon as he walks into the conference room. I haven’t even tried to talk to anyone after I contacted Wyatt about Finn earlier, but clearly something has happened.
Charles and Edward smile and stand up. As they walk around the table towards Ford, Charles chimes, “Welcome to our company. I’m so glad to meet another individual from your company. I’m Charles King, the owner of King Enterprises.” He extends his hand.
Ford smiles and walks towards him. However, the smile doesn’t reach Ford’s eyes, as he shakes Charles’ hand. “I’m glad to meet you too, Mr. King. I’m Ford, one of the vice presidents in the company.”
A smirk quickly appears on my face, but I hide it just as quick. We don’t have formal titles in our company, but when we meet representatives from other companies, we often just say that we are a VP.

It has been a couple days since Mason has found out who his mate is, but instead of joy, he has been filled with anger.He has called Finn and has asked him how to get more access within the security system at King Enterprises. Luckily, Finn is more than willing to help Mason. Even though Mason is able to find what he needs, regarding his mate, it didn’t really help him emotionally.Mason sits on his bed with his back resting against the headboard as he stares at his laptop on his lap. He can’t seem to take his eyes off of the mark on his mate’s beautiful neck. Well, I have talked with the doctor, and he isn’t much help. He has reviewed my test results again and says that there isn’t anything off in any of them. His best suggestion is to go back to my room and rest. Maybe in the morning, my throat won’t be so dry.Reluctantly, I follow the doctor’s advice and go to bed shortly after getting back to my apartment. I feel bad because I want to sit up and talk with Finn to get to know him a little bit, but I can’t. The longer the night drags on the drier my throat gets. I have drunk glass after glass of water and juice, but nothing seems to help. I’m hoping that a good night’s sleep will do the trick.I drag my feet as I head towards my bedroom.
