Chapter 2-Saved by the she wolf.

She kept running with her face turned back, looking at the cobra, when suddenly she banged into something soft and furry. Outraged by the disturbance during its sleep, the majestic lion let out a ferocious growl, loud enough to threaten the entire forest. It was all ready to attack her. Petrified by the growl, Ella paced back, but then the cobra was just closely following her. On the left was a precipice, and towards the right she could see a beautiful waterfall. She felt helpless. Finally, she had found some water worth drinking. She wanted to join her hands and say, “Oh! The ferocious, majestic lion and the mighty cobra! Please let me drink some water before you consume me." But then she knew that they wouldn’t understand a word. She could have easily fought back if the attackers were humans, as she was well versed in martial arts, and she had also received some training at the army school in her childhood. But she was at a loss to understand how to handle these animals.

Ella was between the devil and the deep sea. Her head went numb. She didn’t have the faintest idea as to what to do. She felt frozen.

She could hear the wolves howling from the interior of the forest. She was certain that she would be killed by one of the wild animals in the forest. She saw the lion leap towards her, and she just sat on the ground with her hands covering her face. She didn’t have the courage to look at the animals attacking her.

She felt that the lion was carrying her between its canine teeth somewhat piercing her stomach. She slowly opened her eyes and was surprised to see that the lion and the cobra were fighting each other. She was being carried by a big, strong female wolf, much bigger in size than herself.

The birds were chirping already, indicating the onset of dawn. The wolf ran towards the interior of the forest and finally dropped Ella near a beautiful mansion. She felt that she would faint, but then she was surprised to find that she was simply alright without any injuries to her body. She was further astounded as the wolf kept looking at Ella lovingly instead of killing her.

The moon had already vanished from the sky, and the sun was rising from below the horizon. Ella was astounded as she witnessed the wolf’s eyes change from sparkling yellow to a beautiful blue color; its bones shortened, the hair on her body vanished; she gained normal human muscles; and the highly muscular structure as well as the fangs disappeared. Her claws changed into nails, and her fangs into canines.

Ella had heard of the werewolves in stories, but she was perceiving them for the first time. The wolf in her human form appeared extremely beautiful and charming. “If my mom were alive, she would have looked just like her,” Ella thought.

Although the appearance of the wolf had changed, the loving glance in her eyes remained the same.

“You can’t be Lara. What has happened to you? My daughter Lara can easily handle and defeat a dozen such animals attacking her. But you sat there petrified? Are you just alright?” The werewolf exclaimed in surprise.

“Oh! It’s nothing! I am just alright! Just that I am hungry, and I would be glad if I got a cup of coffee with the morning breakfast.” Ella blurted out as she could feel the hunger pangs.

The female werewolf gestured to a maid, “Bring my daughter’s favorite sandwich, pizza, pastries, croissants, and hamburger, along with a cup of hot coffee for my cutie pie."

The maid placed the breakfast and the hot flask on the table outside the mansion where Ella was sitting along with the female werewolf. Ella forgot all the manners and just gobbled up the breakfast as if she had been hungry for ages. The hot coffee felt soothing to her cold body. She was filled with gratitude for the female werewolf, who looked at her adoringly.

Just then, a strong and handsome young man appeared in haste. “Lara! Just get ready soon! Alpha Amelia has already attacked the outskirts of our territory. We too will have to wage a war against her and stop her from proceeding further, lest she succeeds in conquering our territory. The army is ready already. You are extremely good at war tactics, so you will command one group of the army heading towards the east, and I will proceed with another group towards the west.” Said Alpha Gabriel to Ella!

“Why are these people addressing me as Lara? Asking me to command an army group? Although my father was in the army and I have received a little bit of training, that doesn’t make me efficient enough to be a commander! But if I refuse right now, they might kill me," thought Ella to herself.

“Alpha Gabriel! Pardon me! But I would suggest that you make Beta the commander of the army group. Lara seems to be behaving strangely since last night.” Said the female werewolf to Alpha Gabriel.

Mrs. Rolex! I have already made the decisions, and we have hardly any time left to discuss anything further! So let Lara take the command and march towards the east.

Ella thought of Lisa’s note. “Hadn’t she mentioned that towards the east of the island, the sea was narrower and was connected by a bridge to the nearby city? She had also expressed her wish that the Moon Goddess show me the path towards my destination. Isn’t it the right opportunity to go safely towards the east?

“I am ready to be the commander, Alpha Gabriel,” Ella said in a jiffy, trying to sound as confident as possible.
