Chapter 15 - Tears of Joy

Joan got into the backseat with Damien and then the driver started the car and drove off.

Joan turned back to look at her parents who were waving at her as they were slowly fading away from her view while the car moved further and further away.

When she couldn't see them anymore, she turned back to face the road and then the realization of her current situation just dawned on her.

She was now a married woman.

She suddenly felt very emotional and before she knew what was happening her eyes became watery and tears started rolling down onto her cheeks as she began sniffling.

Damien who was on a call and didn't know that Joan was crying, was shocked when he heard her sniffling.

What must have happened to her, he thought.

They had just finished their wedding and she was supposed to be happy, but here she was shedding tears, perhaps they were tears of joy, Damien thought, but he knew better than to mistake her tears for that of joy, he knew that Joan didn't willingly agree to this marr
