Lennox

Lennox

"You have been leaving your responsibilities and going goddess knows where, now you want to go to Crimson pack? and you won't tell me why."

"Exactly." He nodded in reply.

Trisha's eyes twitched at him as she stopped pacing in his office, she plopped down In a chair and rested her head back.

"I hate you," she scowled at him.

"You shouldn't talk to your alpha like that," He said although he was smiling. "Where is your stress ball, you need it."

He stood and headed for the door. Nobody would understand what was on his mind, he found his mate after so many years and she was way better than he had ever imagined, strong, beautiful, and irresistible. Way too perfect for him and she may have realized it, after all, she ran away from him... twice.

Who was she? Why would she run away from him and why did she claim to be rogue? His need to know almost drove him to madness.

"Tell me, Lennox, why all this?" Trisha's moved and hugged him from behind, her words stopped him at the door.

He sighed, releasing himself from her embrace, and turned to face her. He would have preferred if she didn't ask, this was going to hurt her feelings since he was meant to marry her after her mate died and he couldn't find him but he couldn't lie to her. Everything changed when he took in her divine scent she hid from him for so long.

"I found my mate," he said staring right into her eyes, studying her.

He was able to pick up the emotions that only her eyes showed, she Stopped her body from revealing her feelings but he could see it all. Trisha was a good friend to him always and seeing her hurt was the last thing he wanted to see especially knowing he was the cause of it.

"Oh... That is good news, I guess it explains where you always are," she said after being quiet for more than necessary and averting her eyes when she claimed it was good news.

You don't mean that. He sighed.

"The truth is she ran away from me," he walked back into his office and took a seat.

"She did?" She asked with a raised brow.

"When we met, I suspected she was it for me but I wasn't sure but when I was, I think I spooked her and she ran away." He glanced at Trisha who was still stationed at the door.

He couldn't make this easy for her to hear but she had to understand that he wanted his mate and no one else, their marriage would have been one of convenience.

"Is she why you want to go to crimson pack?"

He nodded, he sensed how uncomfortable she was to be discussing this with him.

"You know you shouldn't go there, they don't have an alpha and their luna is brutal," she said. "They won't welcome you into their land."

He frowned at her attempt to stop him. Of course, he has heard the rumors but it was not nearly enough to stop him, he also had a reputation for being a ruthless leader of the most powerful pack so there was no way he would back down now.

"I can take care of myself and I will handle whatever situation I end up in."

"I can't stop you but just be careful," She said with a smile that failed to reach her eyes before leaving.

Lennox ran his hand down his face and released another sigh. I would make this easy on her if I could but there was no going back when I have the face, scent, voice... of my destined mate engraved in his mind. His wolf yearned to see her again and so did he.

This was not his usual scene, he wasn't even sure she would be in the crimson pack but when he tried to track her down he ended up outside their territory.

He walked out of his office and went down to the kitchen where he met Simone, one of his best friends and his beta. He was shirtless and sweaty with a drink in his hand as he scrolled through his phone.

"Whoa dude, It's like seeing you nowadays is next to impossible." He said as he noticed Lennox coming.

Lennox went and took a seat next to him in the dining.

"Yeah, I found my mate." Lennox leaned back in his chair and lifted his hand to support his head.

"You are kidding," he said with his wide eyes staring at his friend.

"No, I just told Trisha about it too."

"Wow, I'm happy for you man but how did she take it."

Lennox closed his eyes and the image of Trisha leaving his office all dejected came up then it was replaced with one of Riona smiling at him causing him to groan.

"That bad huh," Simone stood and went to the fridge.

He got another drink out and tossed it to Lennox who caught it without even looking.

"You can't blame her, I am the one who broke her heart."

"No dude, it's a fucked situation but don't blame yourself. Do what you feel is best," he said, "I know how much you wanted to find your mate, now you have."

"Yeah... Your right."

"Aren't I always? So tell me who she is." He took a swing of his drink with his eyes settled on his alpha.

"No idea."

His words caused Simone to spill out the drink in his mouth, his brows creased at Lennox as he cleaned his mouth.

"What?"

"She ran away from me but I'm going to get her."

"Yeah? Your situation is more fucked than I thought." He laughed.

"At least I have found mine, you? Good luck."

"Hey dude, no chick can hold down all this," he said gesturing to his built body.

He is such a muscle head.

Lennox shook his head at his friend. He knew Simone didn't want to settle down anytime soon but he also knew the experience of meeting your mate, his dear friend was in for the biggest surprise of his life when he meets his mate.

He smiled at his friend and patted him on his shoulder then opened the drink and took a sip from it.

"I will get her back, no matter what."

"Yeah, you go get our luna." They both grinned and clinked their bottles together. Cheers.
