Lost Mask

"Luna please you need to come out."

"Who are you to disturb me in my rest?" She yelled in frustration while she hid under her covers.

"I'm sorry luna but I was_"

"Leave me this instant," she ordered.

Riona woke up several times at night and gave herself a lecture on the importance of using your head properly.

When morning came she remained in her room. Why would you forget your bag Riona? How do you even plan on getting it back? She covered her face with a pillow and screamed inside it, then she left her bed to pace around her room. Get a new mask? No no, Kiara would ask too many questions. This is driving me crazy, who was that crazy guy?

She had to get her mask back no matter what, she crouch down and covered her face. but what if he is still there or even worse he has my bag. No, she should not jinx it, she could just run away again, right? But she knew it was all because she had a few seconds' heads start when she ran yesterday and then again she was already spent too. She got up and smiled at herself, it had to work, she would mask her scent and go get her bag... easy right?

Kiara came knocking next and she shook her head at her door. No, just leave it alone. She couldn't dismiss her as she did to the other person.

"Riona?" There was a soft knock on the door.

Riona glared at her door from where she was. What do I do? She stood up and glanced around, turning her head from left to right in desperation.

No one can see me like this, then she heard the twist of her doorknob that had her rushing to hold the door close.

"Kiara!" She held the door shut with her back to it, her heart in her mouth. "uhh... I would like to be left alone today please." She did a fake cough to sell her act, "I think I'm coming down with something."

She closed her eyes but peeked one open while doing a silent prayer for Kiara to believe her

"But you were just fine yesterday and how did the meeting with alpha Drake go?" She asked.

"Can we talk about it later, I need my rest," she said, putting her ear to the door to hear Kiara's footsteps as she moved away from her room.

"Okay, I will check on you soon with a doctor."

Riona slid down to the ground and released a deep breath of relief. That was close, now she had to go back and get her bag.

...

Riona exited her room, looking at every corner before she would pass until she was out of her pack grounds. She hid her scent before she entered the forest on high alert, all her senses trained on tracking the stranger from before.

He said I was slow to realize things. I will show him.

When she arrived, Riona rushed to look around but she couldn't find it, she had suspected that he would take it_ the worst-case scenario. Great.

"You claim to mean no harm but you are here again." she didn't notice his presence until he spoke. "I see you are still very slow to observe your surrounding."

She was backing him, her hand clenched at his words. How did he do that and his scent, how did I not notice it until now? Doesn't matter.

"I guess you are here for this," he said as he held her bag in his hand.

She turned to face him, her eyes glued to her bag he dangled just out of her reach.

"I must commend you for yesterday, you hid your scent well and I have confidence in my speed but you were like nothing I have seen." He praised, "tell me, who are you?"

Her eyes were unmoving from her bag in his possession, I can't tell him my identity when I have no idea as to who he is either especially why he is my new story.

"Better question, who are you?" She resorted.

"I don't have to answer that but you on the other hand..." He shook her bag."You do want your bag back right?"

"I am a traveler... A rouge." She lied through her teeth without hesitation.

All that mattered was getting her bag back she would make sure to never meet him again.

"A rouge?"

"Yes, return the bag and you won't see me again."

"Oh, and what if I want to see you again?" He asked.

She raised a brow at his question and finally shifted her eyes from the bag to look at him. Was this his way of playing with her? She had thought of many ways to get her bag but she didn't want to get too close to him, he could be a skilled soldier.

"What exactly is your game stranger?"

"My game? Your the one who is in my land even after you ran away yesterday," he countered.

"As I said, my bag and I will be gone." She put her hand forward. Just hand it over already.

He went quiet with his gaze focused on her for long then he broke out a smile at her.

"Tell me your name and this time don't lie to me then I may consider giving you your bag."

He knew I lied? he was way more than she could handle and she knew didn't need him as an enemy in her current situation.

"How unpleasant," she muttered to herself, "Elena, my name is Elena," she said only revealing her middle name to him.

"Elena," he tried out her name, something only her mother called her.

The sound of her name from him was registered in her body with a shiver that caused her face to turn the lightest shade of pink. His presence was doing something to her, his scent was feeling her senses and corrupting her body. She was right to avoid him after all.

"Here, I want to see you again Elena." He threw her bag to her.

She didn't think it would be that easy but she accepted it.

"Then I will be here again."

This time she meant it, she needed a place to train and it was a good idea to have someone at his skill level around while she did. Even if that someone was the one person she wanted to avoid.

There was no way this would backfire right? She held her bag firmly in her hand before walking away from him, her mind finally at ease for averting any potential hazard to her plans.

She had no idea how she was about to be proven very wrong.
