LIORA'S POV

The ship bumps the pier and I feel a wave of profound relief, the competition is over, I have a wish to make and some people will finally be out of my life, expecially Hilda.

I step onto the solid wood of the dock. A golden carriage, with Imperial crests gleaming on its doors, stand waiting and liveried guards stand next to it. The Emperor is beside me, his hand resting lightly on my lower back.

Around us, the other participants are in joyous reunions with their families.

But a few yards away, Tedmond stands utterly alone. Of course there is no one who has come to pick him up.

"We should depart, if we are to reach the palace before nightfall." The Emporer tells
