Arthur's POV
I watched her swing her hips and leave with Atonnia in her arms; when she turned, I stared at the child in her arms. I was consumed with love for her; even in her sleep, she looked so beautiful and at peace.
She opened her sleepily and raised her head to look at me as if feeling the attraction and bond lost. She smiled at me, and I got lost in her pretty smile.
Julianne places her hand on Atonnia's head letting her back softly. I hissed out of frustration that I couldn't get her to hand over the child in my custody.
I turned around and jumped into my car; I ignited the car, revved it, revised it roughly, and drove back to the pack house.
I have been with so many concubines at different times and numerous hours, and just one night stand with my supposed omega mate produced me a beautiful heir. And to think I have been stressing and drowning myself in worry and fear that I would be disthroned from the pack due to no heir. I never had the idea that my heir was living and comfortably enjoying her life in my pack.
I couldn't help but wonder what would have happened and how long I could have waited before realizing the truth I had an heir if I had not angrily left the pack house for a ride in the woods. And what if Julianne never pissed Atonnia off and she never left the confines of their hiding place?
"Okay, Mr. Temper lose, if you want to know how I ended up in your pack even after you rejected me and took me out, then I guessed the best person the question should be directed to is your brother, Jeremy." Julianne's last words floated through my mind.
Jeremy has a lot to explain to me because the last time I checked, Julianne was with him when I rejected her.
I arrived at the pack and went to my chambers.
"Tell Beta Jeremy to see me with immediate effect, any delay to my call will cause him a lot," I ordered the guards at the door of my chambers as I walked in.
I opened my car and grabbed a flask with me, I poured a whole lot into the glass and gulped down all the content at once.
I took the flask and collapsed onto the sofa just as Jeremy walked in.
"You could have mind-linked me on your arrival and my sudden presence instead of sending the guard." He said walking in.
"Do you remember Julianne? The omega I rejected and chased out of the pack the following day after Adrien's naming ceremony?" I asked ignoring his earlier accusations.
"And what about her? Didn't you reject her?" Jeremy asked.
"And that is why you are here to explain to me the reason I went for a stroll today in the woods a little bit farther from the pack, and I ran my car into a young lad, and to make matters worse, Julianne came out of nowhere apologizing for her daughter's silliness." I stared at him, Jeremy blinked and looked away.
"Start talking or else?" I yelled, smashing the glass to the floor.
"This pent-up show of anger is unnecessary." Jeremy narrowed a gaze at me. "It is true I kept her hidden after you chased her away because I felt that your treatment of her after what transpired the night before was unfair. Although I never had an idea of her having a child for you. I just don't want Julianne to hurt herself like she claimed she would or get hurt by rogues or turn one herself." Jeremy shrugged defending herself.
I am torn between the fact of getting angry at Jeremy for going against my orders, or I should be thankful to him because I now have an heir. I don't know what to choose against him now.
The fact that she rejected Julianne and Jeremy dared to go against it keeping her far away from the pack, providing her with shelter, food, and a job she had been surviving with for two years now just because he thought his actions were unfair to her, but at the same time this sweet and caring actions of him made him have an heir. He could have just provided her with what she needed and didn't bother to check on her, which is why he doesn't know about the child.
"Are you mad at me? Say something, please," Jeremy pleaded, looking at me; his voice brought me out of my reverie.
Realization dawned on me that I had been glaring daggers at him for the past minutes whilst lost in thoughts.
"In as much as I cannot get mad at you for what you did, you still went against my orders to accept and keep her in the pack," I started gulping the flask. "So to avoid future insubordination, I am going to punish you," I said.
"Are you serious about the punishment? You, of all people, said you can't get mad at me because of what I did? If I had not offered her a place in the pack because of how you treated her, that baby you claimed you saw with her would never have existed. You see my pure intentions made you have an heir unknowingly." Jeremy countered weakly.
"And I said to avoid further insubordination, I am going to punish you. I gave an order Jeremy, and the last time I checked, you are not only my brother to me but my beta which means no matter what you feel any judgment I passed out should be left aside, and the task be carried out first them you can bolt out the feelings and get mad at me. You dare not disobey my orders." I hit my hands on the table in annoyance.
"And these feelings of your judgment were different and directed to someone else of interest and also special to you. You didn't expect me to throw her out and let a thing happen to your mate just because you felt she was an omega? I am not as heartless and ruthless as you are." Jeremy spat out angrily.
"Okay fine, go on and crucify me. I have always wanted a powerful and strong wolf as a mare, and the moon goddess deemed it fit to send me an omega; how best do you expect me to behave then?" I asked.
"In any way but not questioning her dignity," Jeremy said through gritted teeth.
"And that is why I want to make things right now."
"How?"
"Through your punishment."
"And what would that be if I may ask?"
"I want you to bring Julianne and Antonnia to the pack, Jose, and offer them a quarter, make sure that whatever they need in terms of guards and maid and other provisions be provided to them. I am not demanding, I am ordering you to bring them in." I smiled winking at him.
"That is one hell of an easy punishment there. Why didn't you do it yourself?" Jeremy fired.
"She listens to you." I shrugged simply. "Now I suggest you get on with it." I dismissed him from my presence with a wave of my fingers.
****
Later in the day, I assembled all my concubines into the throne room for a little chit-chat and discussion.
"I am the happiest man in the world today," I started in my enthusiastic self. "I am glad to announce to you all that I now have an heir." I smiled spreading my arms.
"And how is that possible?" Jasmine asked surprised at his revelation.
"This is messed up," Angel muttered to herself angrily. "When I thought I would be the one to bless you with an heir, suddenly someone else not in our league has done that." She thought inwardly.
"His love and attention would be divided and concentrated on this new heir of his and this woman who would automatically be his Luna," Laramie said disgustedly.
"Who is the woman? And where is the child?" Jasmine asked furiously not liking the way the issue is turning out.
"The child is with her mother, an omega. I ran into her earlier today when I drove out for a stroll in the woods." I revealed.
"That's not possible, an omega taking out place as Luna?" Laramie continued disgustedly.
"Maybe Arthur had taken a lot of whiskey today and does not know what he is saying. How can I omega bear him an heir?" Stella asked Avery beside her.
"He doesn't look drunk to me, but he had taken a dose of his usual, but he is not affected. He seemed so serious and happy with what he was telling us." Avery commented glancing at Arthur.
"Isn't that bad news for us," Angel added beside them.
"Bring in mother and daughter," Arthur said to the guards at the door.
Brown hair, Golden irises yes, same round face shape...exactly Arthur carbon copy.
"He truly is not telling a lie about having an heir," Jasmine gasped, her gaze never leaving Atonnia in Julianne's arms.
"This is so bad news for us," Avery replied to Angel's earlier remark.
"We are doomed," Stella added, her face tearing up into a cry.
Arthur's POV After what the maid said since she didn't whisper it to my ears but out loud to our hearing, and also the gossip spread from people who were closer to our hearing range to people spread out in the hall; Gasps and murmurs spread like wildfire through the congregation. The maid's words hung in the air in silence, with whispers, and fearful expressions written all over their faces. "Antonnia, the young lady, has fallen gravely ill.""Julianne," I caught her on time before she kissed the ground like I said earlier. She turned to stare at my grip on her hand while I tightened it."You have to calm down and not injure yourself. Let's go see her together." I whispered, steadying her in case she tried to slip away from my hold, thereby causing herself danger. My face, once radiant with joy, now clouded with concern. But I swiftly composed myself, my expression turning resolute. For her, to reassure me. I appreciated her strength, but my mind reeled with worry.Antonnia, daughter
Julianne's POV Arthur's eyes locked onto mine, his face inches from mine. I felt that familiar spark like heard ago at Adrien's mating ceremony, right in the hall when I was carrying trays of juice, but anger flared within me.How could I forget what he did? He took my innocence and left me vulnerable to my pack's ridicule. They shunned me, called me weak; they called me dirty and a hypocrite. He disgraced and humiliated me in front of the whole pack members, he made Adrien hate and lose his trust in meI was forced to flee l, alone, as there was nowhere to go since Adrien chased me out of the pack and scared. And when I finally tracked Arthur to his pack, what did I find? He wrapped around another woman, his lips on hers. The rejection stung. He sent me away, declared me unwanted, an omega, unworthy. Now, as Arthur's hands reached for me, I pushed him away."Don't, don't you dare touch me, Arthur," I warned, my voice firm.Arthur's eyes narrowed. "Julianne, what's wrong?"Everything
Julianne POV As I stepped into Arthur's house, a sea of hostile faces greeted me. His concubines emerged from the shadows, their eyes flashing with resentment.Jasmine, in particular, glared at me with venom. Her eyes seemed to bore into my soul."What brings you here?" Stella sneered, her voice dripping with malice."Arthur's decisions are getting more ridiculous by the day because I don't understand the meaning of this cheap thing here." Angel chimed in, her tone laced with disdain.Laramie snorted. "He's lost his mind, favoring you over us, not is so dumb and stupid of him to behave in that manner."Avery's voice was barely above a whisper, but her words cut deep. "You're just a temporary distraction. He'll tire of you soon. I am not trying to break your heart so early, baby girl. He is going to tire of you soon, and when he does, he is going to bring someone else, and you will get pained."I stood tall, refusing to let their hatred intimidate me. They can go to hell for all I car
Arthur's POVAs soon as Adrien left Julianne's quarter, she warned Antonia not to step foot outside the house or else she wouldn't see Arthur ever again."I will take you to a faraway land where Arthur can't reach and where you can't see him, so be a good girl and don't dare mommy by disobeying her, okay?" Julianne's smiled kissing her forehead."Yes, Mommy, do be quick; I am hungry." Antonnia whined, taking a step back into the house with the only impression of telling Julianne she would keep to her promise."Don't worry, I won't stay long where I am off to, I will be back before you know it." Julianne stood upright, Antonnia nodded and with one last stare at her mother, she banged the door.****I saw Julianne run past the side of the field where I stood watching the guard's train; I became curious and trailed her to Jeremy's office. She opened the door without knocking while I stood outside Jeremy's office, listening in on his conversation with Julianne.Julianne's voice was urgent
Julianne's POV I returned to the quarters after the unspeakable behavior with Arthur. Hide demands to be the Alpha of the pack. And she already told me that she loves spending time with Arthur, he plays with her I was preparing dinner, lost in thought, of what transpired today in Arthur's room, when I noticed Antonnia slipping out of the room.At first, I thought nothing of it, but then a nagging feeling crept in. She might be heading to Arthur's place again. My heart sank.I quickly wiped my hands and called out, "And where do you think you are going, young lady?"She played deaf and dumb the first time and continue heading towards the head.My fury multiplied, and without thinking, I yelled out. "Antonia, you heard me where do you think you are going?" She froze in the doorway, turning back with a forced smile. "Yes, Mommy?"I narrowed my eyes. "Don't even dare start now, Antonnia. I asked you a question; it is best if you reply to me rather than playing your usual 'deaf and dumb
Arthur's POVI slammed my fist on the table, frustration boiling inside me. "How could she?" I muttered to myself. I had humbled myself and said please, and still, Julianne refused me. Her rejection stung."How could she refuse me even though with the pleading? Didn't she know it took me a lot of nerve to do so, and she just behaved like some kind of ..." I sighed, palming my face in my arms.I thought I had done everything right. I opened up, showed her my vulnerable side, and begged her to give me a chance, to give me a chance to show her in this merciless being called Arthur, there's still a chance to love someone, to care for them no matter who or what they are. But no, she still said no; she fucking said no to my face and walked off like it meant nothing to her like I did not say it.And what again did she say to Jeremy? "Kindly do me a favor, darling; I know you have a hand in all these silly changes of character in your brother; stop telling him what to do and let him feel rem
