Chapter 36: Nowhere to Run

Without a care in the world, I began running, but Dicken swept his tail in front of me, causing me to stumble forward a few steps and collide with the desk. Suddenly I remembered there was something I could use in the desk drawer — the tranquilizer gun!

This thing was like a savior to me, especially in this situation.

I quickly took the tranquilizer gun out from the drawer and held onto it with both hands before turning around.

The gun was coincidentally aimed at Dicken’s chest as he pursued me. He immediately grabbed the gun to push it away. Damn it! He was so strong! He probably could have bent the gun in half if he wanted to!

I sweated profusely as I held onto the gun for dear life, and just like that, we were at a stalemate.

I am really liking it even though it's hard to imagine a merman "snake walking" in land. But is this a romance story or a horror one?
