I step out of the Alpha’s office and stop in the hallway. I close my eyes and breathe in deeply. It doesn’t take long to catch my mate’s scent. I had expected her to go back to my apartment, but her scent is traveling in the opposite direction.

I follow it while ignoring everyone I come across. I can’t let her get too far, and if I stop to talk to people, I will miss her. I don’t even know what I should say to her, but I’m hoping it will come to me when I’m in front of her.
