It was quiet, the silence of the night echoing between Selena and her mother. The girl was hurt to the gut by what the woman had said, the words stabbing her.

“Mom…” She brushed aside her hurt and took a step closer to the woman, trying to touch her. “Why can’t you understand? Why can’t you see that I can not be with someone I don’t love? Why can’t you see that I don’t want to waste all of my years forcing myself to love a man who I will never love? You loved dad, didn’t you?”

“Leave!!” Selena’s mother suddenly shouted at her, almost as if the mention of the omega’s father had triggered her. “I love you, Selena, but Elijah’s right! You need to learn from your damn mistakes! You need to grow up! Take your things and leave.” She turned and walked into the house and climbed the stairs, disappearing.

The omega just couldn’t believe what was happening. She stood there, trying to wrap her head around it all. Was this really happening? Was she really being kicked out of her house?

“It’s all my damn fault,” She said to herself, her voice cracking. She walked towards her things by the stairs and grabbed them. Two suitcases.

She pulled them out of the house and before closing the door, she stared into the dimly lit place. It was late so her mom had obviously turned off most of the lights, it helps with the electricity bills.

Selena was tempted to cry, she was so scared and confused…so worried.

Elijah had kicked her out and said that they could never work again. He had told her that she could never see Lily again or he won’t take care of her and the thousands of dollars in medical bills. So yeah.

Then now the only place she thought she would be able to come and deal with her heartache and everything else, was now off limits. Her mother didn’t want her here.

Was Selena mad? Not really. But she was really hurt.

She knew that her mother cared for her, even though she couldn’t feel it right now…she knew. She knew her mother had no real choice and was doing this for her little sister and because she wanted to teach a lesson.

But the omega was not going to change her mind or values. She was still not going to spend the rest of her life with a man she didn’t love. That just didn’t make sense to her.

Selena sniffled, closing the door and then walking down to the sidewalk. This wasn’t a safe neighborhood so she had to be alert, she could get robbed.

She kept looking over her shoulders. There were not many people out because it was past midnight, but she knew criminals never slept.

She had promised herself that she wasn’t going to cry, but from the way everything in her life just kept progressively getting worse, she couldn’t hold back her tears.

The girl sobbed as she walked under the light of the full moon. She kept looking around though, she could shift into her wolf and try to protect herself if she was attacked, but that was as far as she could do though.

She had no idea how to fight. Wolf training was for the elite and not the less fortunate in this town. This place was the most classist place she had ever been. And maybe the only place too, since she was born here and had not really left even once.

After walking for about twenty minutes, she was almost out of the sketchy neighborhood, she just needed to get out and then she would stop worrying about being jumped and her things being stolen. Then she would focus on what she was going to do and where she was going to go.

But as she started to reach an alley, she started to hear a group of men talking. She froze, her heart now thundering in her chest.

She didn’t want to walk by and let them see her. There was no one out here to help her if anything were to happen. But also, she couldn’t just turn around and walk back. It was clear that her mom would not accept her.

And besides, she was already close to getting out of this hood. As soon as she’d get out, there would be guards all over the streets. She just needed to get out of here first.

Selena pulled out her phone and put it on silent before putting it back. She also tried her best to be as quiet as she could when she started walking again.

She held her breath as she reached the alley, she didn’t even attempt to look in that direction, she just kept looking straight forward as she walked.

And just when she thought she had made it and started breathing again, someone from the alley called out, “Hey, you!”

Selena didn’t even stop, she kept walking, increasing her pace and soon started running too. But with her suitcase, she was slow and got caught.

The first guy who caught up with her pushed her hard and she fell on the ground, her elbows scraping on the concrete, sending jolts of pain through her.

“Please, please!” She started begging, tears freely falling from her eyes as fear gripped her. She didn’t want to die, she really didn’t. It was well known in the town that thugs in this part of town were merciless; they would rob you and even if you didn’t fight back, they’d still kill you.

“What are you doing out here at a time like this?” The one who had pushed her asked as he stared at her. “Are you one of those girls who would let anyone f*ck them for money? Because I have been really horny these past few days.” He chuckled darkly, his words sending shivers down the omega’s spine.

“Oh my god,” Selena cried as she dragged herself away. She had never been this scared in her life. “I’m not! I’m not a courtesan!”

“Are you sure you’re not a prostitue?” The man smirked as he started to remove his belt while keeping his dark eyes on her.

This felt like the end for the omega.

Selena was cold, she was shivering because she was wet and because the winds were chilly as if they were in Antarctica. She reached for the doorbell, ringing it a few times as they waited. Then she decided to check on the beta, because she knew that if she was cold, that would mean that Leon would be freezing. Considering that he was shirtless. But when she looked at him, he seemed okay. That was the thing, he seemed okay, it didn’t mean that he was. He was not shaking as much as she was, and he was paying attention to the door, waiting for it to open. She was about to ask him if he was okay but then the door made a sound as it was being opened, stealing back her attention. She looked over and watched it open, revealing an older gentleman standing there with a look on his face that was quite hard to decipher. “How may I help you?” The man asked in a monotone. “Can we at least come inside? It’s freezing,” Leon said. The man nodded, opening the door wider and allowing them to walk i

The rain did not stop, and it was beyond dangerous to be driving in such weather like that, but they were. Leon was behind the steering wheel, shirtless and focused on trying not to crash into a tree or another car. But again, who would be stupid enough to be driving under such conditions? Who but them?Selena was sitting right next to him, her eyes trained on the road. As much as she wanted them to find Cassie, she also did not want to die or get hurt trying to find the girl. She was tempted to tell the beta that they could just turn and go back, letting whatever that was supposed to happen happen. But she kept it to herself and just stayed glued to her seat, her seatbelt on, of course. A flash of lightning lit up the road for a quick second, and the omega flinched, knowing exactly what was coming next, so she covered her ears and waited for it to pass. After a few more seconds, she removed her hands from her ears and sighed. She turned and looked over at the beta and asked, “How

The rain was so heavy. Even though the windows were closed, the sound was still like a million tiny bullets were being shot at the house. Selena was asleep, but she had set up a series of alarms on her phone to make sure that she would be able to check up on the blonde girl. Each one was supposed to start blaring individually after every one hour and thirty minutes. She had no idea when the first one was going to start ringing since sleep had mercilessly stolen her after ten minutes of setting up those alarms. But it felt like only five minutes had passed when she woke up to one of them finally screaming in her ear from her phone. When her eyes opened, she groaned, immediately regretting why she had chosen to do this. She knew that she was going to be so f*cked up in the morning, but she was already in too deep. There was no turning back. Right…?Right…?She sat up and grabbed the phone, turning the sound off before looking over at the blonde girl. Despite how annoying and loud her

Cassie seemed to be happy to hear what the omega had said. “Who’s Cat, and how can she help us?” She was tempted to start pacing the room, but felt a bit grounded after hearing that she could actually get some help. “She’s my friend, we met at the Moon festival,” Selena replied. “She’s a hybrid of a witch and werewolf. And she sees visions. She was the first one who saw that I was going to be the savior of the pack; the white-haired Luna.” “Oh…” The blonde girl nodded, taking the words in. “Do you think she would be able to come over right now?” “Cassie, it’s late. And there’s a storm brewing. You can literally hear the thunderclaps.” “And so? We can send a car for her.” She shrugged. “It’s not…it’s not that simple. She lives with her parents, and they are really strict when it comes to her. They don’t even know yet that she had seen that vision about me becoming the white-haired Luna.”“But can’t we, like, talk to them or something? I really need to know what happened last night

It was quiet…when the words of the blonde girl came out about asking who she had killed, it went dead silent. Selena did not know what to say, while Cassie was stuck in her mind. She was trying her best not to lose her mind, which she was already losing. This went on for about a full minute before a sob broke the quiet. Cassie released a shaky breath and locked eyes with the omega. “What if it were someone’s mom? Or it could have been someone’s dad…or even brother.” She looked away, tears falling freely from her eyes. “Oh my god,” She said under her breath. “Cassie, you need to stop overthinking.”“But…” “Just stop.” Selena was much firmer now. She felt like she needed to get this under control, or this was going to not only ruin the blonde girl, but it was going to affect her mental health a lot as well. Selena was the type of person who could easily be affected mentally by things and people around her. And yeah, this was kind of normal for everyone, but the thing here was that h

  • The Moon Goddess’s Mistake    Chapter 170. Thunderstorm, Part One

It did not take long for Selena and Leon to get back to the mansion. When they did, it was already nightfall. The moon was nowhere to be found, and even the stars were a bit hidden. There were white thin clouds floating up, and it was a bit cold. It looked like it could rain at any time. The car came to a stop, and the engine was killed. The beta removed his seatbelt, and silence filled the space as he turned and looked over at the omega for a few long seconds before speaking. “Are you okay…?” His voice was soft. “I know you have gone through a lot since you entered our lives, things that you were not expecting to go through. And I am so sorry.” He flashed her a sad smile. “But I swear, it’s not always like this.” He chuckled a bit. Selena smiled, her heart filled with enough anxiety to kill a small animal. “It’s fine. My life was kind of sh*t, to begin with. Even before I came into y’all’s lives, things were sh*tty for me. If anything, things may be a bit bad now, but they used to
