I frozed.

My breaths shallow as I locked my gaze with his. His deep blue eyes shimmering under the moonlight.

His large strong arms wrapped around my waist, preventing me from touching the earth and his eyes gazed at me with an expression I could not decipher.

Fear? Hate? Relief?

I didn't know. Couldn't understand.

The moonlight bathed between us and nothing else seemed to matter. Just the steady rise and fall of his chest matching the thumping rhythm of my heartbeat.

I swallowed, not sure why I was feeling this way. Was this love? A connection? Or......... lust.

His eyes brightened— Gradually. Brewing with an emotion that I could barely register
