Chapter 20: A Private Moment

Braxton’s POV

I was standing under the willow tree with Addy. I don’t know why I lead her here. It just felt right when I guided her outside. We had so many memories under this tree where we would play as kids. It always gave us a sense of privacy under the sweeping canopy. I was looking down into her eyes, and everything in me was yelling to kiss her. I wanted to taste her lips so bad. Blaze was pacing and whining in my head. He has had as much trouble as I have with the thought of what would have happened if we didn’t get there in time.

When she had told me Blaze was the last thing she saw before she fell unconscious and she knew she was safe, I felt him sit up proudly in my head.
