QUEENETH'S POV.

I decided to stop at Reuben’s place before heading to the training ground. I was so surprised when I saw Success standing in the living room as I walked in.

Success is Reuben's classmate and friend. They are of the same age. She is also Alpha Collins' friend. Reuben and Alpha Collins were good friends, and that made them join hands to take care of me after my parents' death. She loves Alpha Collins so much and clings to him as though he were a lifeboat. She was devastated when she learned that Alpha Collins was not her mate. And ever since then, she has been trying everything possible to convince Alpha Collins that she will make a good mate and Luna.

Werewolves always do that. If their mates die or they don't find their true mate, they can choose one. And that was exactly what Success wanted to do to Alpha Collins. I'm very sure Collins has not dictated this and sees every act of her as that of a kind-hearted and stronger wolf that has the progress of the pack at heart.

Success was tall and beautiful. Her makeup was always on point. Every male in our pack admires her so well and wants her to be by their side, but she destroys everything with her bad character. She was very mean, hard, hardened, and very disrespectful. Because I was close to the Alpha, she hated me so much and treated me like trash. I only know what I face whenever I’m with her. Whenever we are together, Alpha Collins, Reuben, and I are together, she pretends to be a sweet soul, but anytime we’re alone, she always threatens me. She threatens to send me out of the pack if she becomes Luna.

“As an orphan, nobody will cough.” She will always say.

She sees me as an obstruction between her and Alpha Collins and I don't know why she feels that way.

“Success Good Morning.” I said coldly and tried getting the remote.

“Good morning brat.” She said and smirked

“What are you doing here?”

“Maybe I should ask you that.” I said as I turned on my favourite channels to check the newest update.

“I know you're not afraid of me. But listen, I’ll soon become Luna and I’ll exile you and nobody will stop me.

I wanted to reply l when I heard the entrance door open and Reuben walked into the living room fully dressed for training. Success quickly put on a fake smile. The reason she is close to Reuben is because Reuben is Alpha Collins's good friend and he listens to him. He wants Reuben to position her well in the eyes of Alpha Collins so that he can choose her. Success is very intentional, if nobody knows, I am very sure of that.

I rolled my eyes. How possible is it that Reuben did not pick the signal of how fake Success is? Is it because he's of the opposite gender and I’m of the same gender as her? I remember how he always talks good about her and her beauty including how intelligent and kind hearted she is.

Each time he says this, I always swallow hard, still looking for a perfect time to tell him that Success is fake.

“Good morning, my pretty.” Reuben said and touched my hair.

That was the favourite name he gave me and he's the only one that calls me that. He always tells me that I am the prettiest in the pack and he does not hide saying it. He says anywhere and everywhere. That alone makes Success very angry. I always see her expression each time Reuben calls me my pet name. Reuben is not aware of this. If I want her heart to break more, I’ll be blushing and the pain in her heart can be seen in her face.

“Good morning, Ben.” I said and smiled.

Because he calls me by a sweet pet name, I decided to reciprocate by calling him “BEN.”

Success doesn't like it when I call him that name. She gave me a “I will kill you” look over his shoulders.

“You're already dressed, what are your plans for today.?” Reuben asked as he sits on his favourite couch.

“Nothing much” I responded. “I have a training session in a few minutes time and I decided to check up on you so that we can go together.”

“Tommorrow will be your first shift. Are you excited?” Reuben asked as he reduced the volume of the television.

“Yes,” I said and smiled brightly. “I can't wait to meet my wolf.”

“Maybe you’ll find your mate, Queeneth,” Success said coldly, her face filled with pretense and hatred. “And that will be the end of us meeting together.”

Reuben's countenance changed immediately, then he let out a smile. Reuben is of the melancholy temperament and one thing about their temperament is mood swing. They can be laughing now and the next minute they are crying and the next minute they don't feel like talking to anybody.

“My pretty, don't worry, no mate will take you away from us.”

“I'm very happy that after your shift you can start at a pack house right?” Reuben asked.

I gave a quick nod without saying a word.

“Congratulations, if you check all around you, you’ll find out that all things are working for your good.”

“Yes, they are.”

Reuben quickly dipped his inside the bag he was carrying and brought out a package.

“My pretty, this is for you. It's not your birthday gift, I bought it to encourage you for your first shift by tomorrow. Your birthday gift is coming. I wanted to give it to you at the training but since you're here, have.” He handed the package over to me and I was so excited.

“Thank you so much Reuben. I'm grateful.” I appreciated him.

I looked at Success and she was already panting as though she ran a race.

“Reuben, both of us are here and you gave only Success a package. What about mine?” She said rudely.

Just then, the door creaked open.

  • The Moon’s Pure wolf    Chapter Sixty Five- Aftermath of Choice

QUEENETH’S POVAftermath of ChoiceAfter, nothing feels clean. The air is heavy, sticky with smoke, dust, and something I cannot name. The forest beyond the pack territory shivers under a weight it has never carried before. Wolves are quiet now, unnervingly so. They do not speak. They do not shift. They only look at me, at their knees, at the ground, as if trying to decide if this is punishment or salvation. The Hollow King calls it proof. Proof that I am not weak. Proof that I can bend chaos without breaking. Proof that I can command life and death with a thought. He calls it inevitability, destiny, rightful power. There is a dark satisfaction in his voice, the kind that makes my stomach tighten and my skin crawl. He says he knew all along. That I was always going to do exactly this. The elders call it tyranny. They speak in whispers sharp enough to cut. Their eyes do not leave me, but their words do not carry compassion, only fear. They say I have overstepped, that I am dangerous, t

QUEENETH’S POVThe Weight of CommandI stop the fight. Not with force. Not with strategy. Not with reason. I stop it with a single, unbearable choice.I command them. Not with shouts. Not with gestures. Not with violence. I reach inside, inside the very threads that bind the pack, the invisible cords that connect their hearts to one another, to me. I pull. Softly. Relentlessly. Until every wolf feels it. Until every body, every muscle, every heartbeat recognizes the truth I force them to see.One by one, they drop to their knees. Not in pain. Not because I make them bend. They bend because they remember. They remember that their strength, their loyalty, their blood, belongs to something bigger than their anger, bigger than their fear, bigger than the war they were ready to fight. The sound of the bodies hitting the ground is not a crash. It is quiet. Reverent. Terrifying.I cry while I do it.Not quietly. Not softly. Not like a child hiding in a corner. I cry because this choice costs

QUEENETH’S POVThe Breaking PointEverything breaks. Not slowly. Not softly. Not with warning. It rips apart in pieces too sharp to catch, too loud to ignore. The wards shatter first. Cracks run like veins through the air, sparks flickering against the trees. I can feel the energy twisting, warping, leaving jagged holes in the space around me. My skin prickles, my claws scrape the ground, and every instinct in me screams that nothing will ever be the same.Wolves scream. Not in unison. Not in anger. In terror, confusion, shock. The sound presses into my chest. Each cry hits like a hammer, a drumbeat echoing in my ribs. Some fall mid-step. Some leap too early and twist into unseen obstacles. Every one of them a thread tearing, a life unraveling. I hear it. Every break. Every snap. Every desperate gasp.Amy roars. She does not wait for me to act. She moves faster than thought, a blur of shadow and teeth. And in the instant she loses even a fraction of control, the consequences are devas

QUEENETH’S POVThe First BetrayalI refuse. Not quietly. Not with hesitation. Not a whisper hidden behind fear.I refuse. The Hollow King tilts his head like he expected it. His laugh rolls over the clearing, low and hollow. Not cruel. Not angry. Just… disappointed. The kind of disappointment that cuts deeper than hatred. That makes you want to curl into yourself and hide. But I do not. I stand. He begins to turn, moving with a grace that bends the world around him. Shadows ripple like water. Light fractures into jagged shards. Leaves twist in the air as if the forest itself is following him. My chest tightens. Every instinct screams for me to reach him, to stop him, to strike. Then the first betrayal hits. Not from him. Not from some outside force. From the elders. The very people who swore oaths to protect the balance, to guide the pack, to honor the Moon—they lunge forward with weapons, spells, claws sharpened by fear. Not strategy. Not care. Just blind panic wrapped in authority.

QUEENETH’S POVThe Pact of ShadowsThe Hollow King’s voice does not raise. It does not need to.He speaks and the air tightens. The world around us shrinks to the space between his words and my heartbeat.“Join me,” he says. “End the cycle forever. No more councils. No more wars. No more wolves born to carry roles they did not choose. No more children made for obedience. No more mistakes repeated across generations.”His eyes are patient. Persuasive. He lets the weight of his promise settle over everyone.I feel the pack shift behind me. Their fear is sharp, immediate. They do not move forward. They do not step back. They just wait. Unsure if their lives belong to the story or if the story belongs to them. All it costs is Collins. Not his life. Not his body. Not even his loyalty. His place. His claim as Alpha. The authority he earned through blood and years. The trust the pack has in him. That is the price.I taste iron in my mouth. Blood or panic, I cannot tell. I swallow anyway. It

  • The Moon’s Pure wolf    Chapter Sixty- The Truth That Breaks Quietly

QUEENETH’S POVThe Truth That Breaks QuietlyHe does not shout it.That is what makes it cruel. The Hollow King turns slightly, just enough to include the pack without ever taking his eyes off me, and speaks like he is explaining something obvious to children who were lied to for too long.“Luna Queens do not rule packs,” he says. “They never did.”The words move through the clearing slowly, touching faces, settling into bones. I feel them land behind my eyes first. A dull pressure. Like a headache you know will not go away by morning.“They reset the world when it grows diseased.”Someone gasps. Someone else laughs once, sharp and scared. No one interrupts him. Not the elders. Not Collins.“Alphas are temporary,” the Hollow King continues. “Strong leaders. Necessary leaders. But still temporary. They rise, they stabilize, they fall. History replaces them like seasons.”I feel Collins then. Not through sight. Through the bond.It tightens. Not painfully. Carefully. Like he is bracing
