Chapter Thirty-Six—A dead end

For the first time in all Twenty-seven years of living, I felt my heart stop. I closed my eyes for a moment, hoping, praying, that Dinah in front of me was just an illusion.

But she wasn’t…

She was standing right in front of me..

“What are you—

“I followed you.”

I frowned deeply. Surely there was no way she could’ve followed me without my knowledge, unless she masked her own scent. My eyes narrowed and I saw Regan’s special elixir, made to combat and hide a werewolf’s presence. My brows creased even deeper, wishing he’d never made the stupid thing.

Clearing my throat, “You followed me?”

She shrugged, “You were blowing me off.”

“I wasn’t blowing you off.” My eyes wandered, hoping she wouldn’t notice, “I clearly set a boundary Dinah. I didn’t want to be disturbed and yet, here you are.”

She let out a scoff, taking a seat down on the sand, the rumbling of the fast moving waters could be heard. Once it was a sound whic

Chapter Thirty-Seven—Asher’s Secret **AURORA** A dreaded sense of chill coursed through my veins as I made my way through the woods. The memories of my first attack, by the redwood tree, Asher’s lies about how i simply just passed out. It all came in full force, now that I knew what he really was, and how his kind existed. I could already hear the water by the creek. The same soothing sounds that seemed to calm my nerves, I gulped hard, clutching onto the bottle of wolfsbane powder Mrs Ackerman had given to me. I was going to see him and I wasn’t sure why. A part of me wanted to end things for good, a huge part of me didn’t. A part wanted to take back the painting, the other wanted him to have it—money or not. After all, he was my perfect muse. I stepped on a branch, cursing under my breath as my skirt was caught in a snag. I crouched low to wrangle the fabric free, when I felt a sharp breeze brush past me. I quickly jerked upright, my throat ran dry. I turned aro

  • The Moonlight Affair    Chapter Thirty-five—A suspicious Luna

Chapter Thirty-five—A suspicious Luna **DINAH** Lavender and syrup. She smelled of it all too well. A lingering scent which had made an imprint on my very own mind. I am a Luna after all, my sense of smell greater than a regular werewolf but not of the Alpha in my pack. I wasn’t going crazy. It wasn’t some damned game playing in my head, or a figment of my own imagination. “Your smell.” I repeated to her. She looked disheveled, beautiful. It almost made me envious. A woman in such distress and with the capacity to look effortlessly gorgeous, whereas I could barely get the Alpha in my pack to glance in my direction for more than a minute. “I beg your pardon?” She frowned deeply. “You smell familiar.” I repeated again, “Sorry.” **AURORA** She brushed past me in a somewhat aggressive manner, leaving me dumbfounded. She said I smelled familiar, words I couldn’t even put into place as I watched her leave. I let out another deep breath as I made the im

Chapter Thirty-four— Acceptance I blinked, confusedly, “Aurora??” I heard her sniffle as she got off the bed, she walked over to my clothes, throwing it up on the bed, “You should get dressed. I have to be at the diner in— “No.” I shook my head, “Not until you tell me what’s going— “Nothing is going on Asher. I just need you to leave.” I stared at the painter, dumbfounded as to what was happening. She stood akimbo, still naked and tilted her chin, a beckon for me to get dressed. I frowned deeply, finally getting up from the bed as I put my clothes on. “Is your head okay?” I asked. She was acting irrational and yet I was still worried about her well-being. “My health is none of your business Ash— “You got hit by a truck!” I finally snapped, “Aurora I know you hate me right now but— “I don’t hate you!” She fired back, “I just…I just can’t be with you Asher! Whatever this is?? It has to stop!” “Whatever—“ I paused for a moment as my eyes narr

Chapter Thirty-three(b) I blinked, exasperatedly. I was unsure if she understood what she meant. “Is there a bottle of Aspirin somewhere?” I asked her, “I think you need a painkill— She shook her head vigorously. I could hear her wince when she propped herself up, “I want you to kiss me.” I felt the heat in my loins. A hard lump formed in my throat as she trailed her hands up my jacket. It was only a matter of time, one wrong move and she would snap me into the primal urge I kept hidden in a box. “Au—Rory.” My voice was raspy now, her hands doing something seductive as she reached the waistband of my pants. “Please.” She whispered, her titillating voice grazing my neck, “Please Ash. I need you. I’ve had a long day.” I looked into those eyes of hers—beautiful, tempting. She was a poison, according to Reagan. I needed to stay away from her, and yet I found my hand getting rested on her waist. “Are….are you sure about this?” I stuttered, she bent her
