Chapter 3

Penulis: William Stays Tonight
The memory of that dream made me want to hang up, but my feelings for him surpassed the horror of the dream, and I decided to find out the truth from him. So, I picked up the call.

Owen's anxious voice was heard coming from the other end of the call. "Where are you, Emma? I can't find you anywhere."

I tried my best to suppress the fear in my heart and calmed myself down before finally replying, "Owen? I got a headache from all the people and noise, so I left to get some medicine."

"You left?!" Owen's pitch suddenly became high, and for the first time in my life, he questioned me in a panic, "Where are you? Tell me! Stay where you are and don't move. I'm coming over to pick you up!" He sounded like he was worried I would run off.

My heart sank. I could not help feeling suspicious and scared. I told him the name of a drugstore near the church before hanging up.

Almost immediately after I hung up, I heard a phone ringing in the corridor outside.

"What? She left? Why didn't you watch her properly? Get out there and drag her back here!" It was the voice of that man. He had not left!

I pushed my ear up against the door to listen carefully.

"If she escapes, Owen, I'll cut you to pieces tonight!" The man hung up immediately after threatening Owen viciously. He left the floor very quickly.

He must have really left this time, but I could not cheer up at all. The revelation of being betrayed by the man I loved almost had me breaking down. I could not believe that the ridiculous dream I had the night before was coming true.

Owen had sold my virginity to a bunch of men. It was true that he needed money, and it was true that I had been sold for five million to others, including the man with the scar on his face. All of it was true!

Owen was crazy! How could he sell me to 30 men? How could he do this to me and betray me when I loved him so much? I hated him as much as I loved him before. He deserved to be chopped into pieces.

I took a deep breath and tried my best to suppress my anger. It was more important for me to escape from this place than try to kill Owen. Owen and the man with the scar on his face would discover I had lied to them soon enough.

I had to escape this place before they returned and make sure they never catch me.

I struggled to help myself up by leaning against the door and reached out for the door handle. Right then, a chiseled arm came from behind me to grab my wrist. Fear engulfed me, and my heart skipped a beat. I could hardly breathe.

I jerked my head around to look and saw a tall, slender man standing against the light. He was wearing a pair of golden-rimmed glasses that looked good on his handsome face, but when he looked at me, I could see the excitement and taunting in his eyes.

"Where are you trying to run to, pretty little liar?"

There was someone in this room! A chill ran down my spine, and my blood froze. I bit his hand without hesitation, and he let go of me while shouting in pain.

I took the opportunity to pull my hand away and unlock the door to run out. However, before I could leave the room, the man's long arm clasped around my waist. A powerful force that I could not fight against pulled me off the ground.

The next second, I was flung violently onto the bed, and I saw black momentarily. The world spun around me as all that was left inside of me was endless panic.

The man closed the door and locked it. I looked at him cautiously as he smiled and slowly took off the coat of his suit. He removed his tie while staring at me with his sharp eyes. He did not bother to hide his gaze as he stared at my face and moved his eyes down to my chest, waist, and thighs.

He even took the time to admire my feet, which had become dirty after I lost my shoes while running away.

He approached me slowly and grabbed my calf with such force that I was unable to escape from his grip. "Peter was right. It's five million well spent."

The man laughed huskily as he suddenly reached out to violently force my legs apart as if he were inspecting his goods. He did not hesitate at all, and it felt like there was no way for me to resist it.

My body trembled slightly from the force of it as I was unprepared. Muffled moans escaped from my lips involuntarily. It did not take long for the man to start breathing heavily.

The eyes behind those glasses were filled with a strong desire to possess me. I was startled when I saw the huge bulge appear almost instantly in the area.

I quickly turned over in an attempt to escape, but he seemed to have anticipated my movement. He grabbed me by the throat the moment I tried to run.

"Don't move! If you're a good girl, I'll allow you to only sleep with me." He spoke calmly, but his tone was domineering. "But if you're disobedient, I'll have every last one of them take turns with you!"

For a moment, I was taken aback, but I was quickly reminded of Owen and Sophia. Vincenzo noticed me looking a little down, and he spoke up once more. "They've been caught. They're downstairs right now. Do you want to see them?"I shook my head. Call me weak, but I really did not want to see their disgusting faces ever again."How do you want me to take care of them?" Vincenzo was really considerate of my feelings. When he noticed that I was avoiding the topic, he looked at me tenderly. "If you don't want to get your hands dirty, I can handle them for you."I chose the latter without hesitation. "You can make any decision you want. There's no need to tell me the results." After all, I had decided to forget about them from this day onward.Vincenzo smiled. He was done helping me change my medication and bandages. He walked out after washing his hands and kissed me on the corner of my lips. "I wasn't planning on telling you because… I'd get jealous."His sudden loving words to me, wh

The glass shards reflected under the bright sun as I jumped out of the broken window. Lady Luck was once again on my side. It was the fifth floor, but I did not fall straight to the ground. Instead, I landed on a balcony on the third floor. My body was covered in minor cuts from the glass, and I could feel the searing pain of different degrees on my arm and my right calf. Someone had attacked my arm, and my right leg got hurt from smacking against the balcony's railing when I jumped out of the window. The intense pain almost knocked me out as I saw black. They would not give me much time to catch my breath. I had to run! I had no choice but to jump from the third floor. I forced myself to turn and leap off the balcony, as I was worried those men would get downstairs before I did. That was when someone I was somewhat surprised to see appeared outside the door. "Emma." Owen gave me a troubled look. It seemed to pain him to see me this way. "Does it hurt?" He reached out in an attemp

"Stop it, you bitch! Let Gray go!""Gray? What the hell! What did you stab Gray with in the neck?""Damn it, you bitch! Have you any idea who Gray is?!"I had no idea who Gray was, but I guessed he was the most powerful person among this group of men. I had been observing them all this time, and I figured one of them held the highest position, or there could even be several of them in high positions. It was not long before I identified three people who fit the profile. The first was Peter, the second was the leader of the policemen, and the third was Gray. After all, he had not hidden the fact that he nearly had me to himself, and no one had seemed mad about it. That meant he was someone of high position. If I could hold one of them hostage, there was still a chance that I could escape. Peter and the lead policeman were big, tall men. I had no way of subduing them. Gray was the only one among them who was wounded. I might have a chance of attacking him if I just found a window of

If Sophia had only talked to me about this, things would probably not have turned out this way, but this was also partly my fault. If I had been more concerned about Sophia, I might have discovered it in time. Unfortunately, it was all too late."Sophia, I won't hate you. We're even now, but from now onward, we're no longer friends."When Sophia heard my words, the expression on her face vanished. She stood before me and stared stoically back at me. She slowly spoke with a troubled look in her eye. "I hate you, Emma. I really, really do hate you."She turned to run downstairs in a fluster after that. I did not run because there was nowhere for me to go. Those men had surrounded me by coming from upstairs and downstairs."You can really run, my dear." It was the first man who had been on the phone, Peter Branzino. He smiled as he appeared behind me to block my way as I backed away from everyone else."Baby, you're so hot, but I don't like it when you do things like this. You need t

My eyes widened as I stared at Vincenzo for several seconds before I turned away to make a run for it. I was in a fluster when I ran off. There was only so much I could take. It was him! He was Vincenzo Corleone! I was in so much shock when I ran off that I did not even close the door behind me. Naturally, I also missed the slightly despondent look in the eyes of the man behind me.I had run down several floors when I finally heard someone call out my name."Emma? Is that you, Emma?""Sophia?" I lunged forward at her with happy tears on my face when I saw the person waiting for me downstairs. "It's so wonderful to see you, Sophia. I thought I could never see any of you again!" I hugged Sophia tightly and exclaimed in agitation."Everything is fine now, Emma. We can go home now." Sophia moved stiffly before reaching out to pat me on the shoulder to comfort me. I quickly collected myself but found it a little strange when I saw only Sophia there. "Where's Sam and William? Didn't

It was not Owen calling me but Sophia, my best friend! I picked up the call happily. "Sophia?""Emma! Where have you been? I've been looking everywhere for you, and Owen refuses to tell me where you are. Are you alright?!" Sophia's worried voice was heard coming from the other end of the call.Tears could not help falling from my eyes. "I'm fine, but there are lots of people trying to catch me. I can't leave just yet. You should go home right now, and don't contact Owen. I'll explain everything to you later."I had no idea what Owen and those men planned to do, and I was worried Sophia might get implicated if they could not find me. All I wanted was for her to quickly leave this dangerous place."Are you still inside the church?""I am."Sophia suddenly sounded really happy. "That's great! Come down right now. I'm at the entrance. Come over, and you can leave under our protection.""Are there more people with you?" I was taken aback.Sophia replied, "Of course. Sam and William
