Chapter 4

The Ferrari Dino 246 GTS arrived back at school and they both alighted from the vehicle.

"There was something out there". Celeste said as she closed the door.

"Maybe". Xayne replied and sat on the bonnet.

"You really believe it's your parent's ghost?".

"Maybe I watch paranormal movies almost that have messed with my head or it's truely their ghost or we're both crazy".

"Strike out that option three".

"And I'll strike option two as well cos maybe those things don't exist". Xayne said. 

"We're left with option one or add one more, you're Crazy".

"Yep but I prefer psychotic maniac".

"You're becoming something these days". Celeste said as the returned the key to her pocket.

"C'mon we just returned from an outing, selfie mode". Xayne said as she stood on the bonnet.

"Seriously? I'm not in the mood to". Celeste said.

"Okay, Photographer then". She said stretching out her Samsung Galaxy S21.

"What's my pay?". Celeste asked taking few steps back.

"I get to drive you to school for this week".

She scoffed and flipped the phone to the horizontal.

"You really do have plans to get us killed". Celeste cursed.

"You need to see my driving skills, Girl". Xayne whispered. 

"I still stand on the hard-core no, so pose or piss off".

"You got guts". Celeste said and posed for a shot. 

She changed pose occasionally with Celeste flipping the phone at different angle like her life depended on it. 

"Is that Miss Cruz?". They heard a voice and turned to see an elderly man with a walking stick ahead and his other hand behind him.

She jumped down the bonnet and her sneakers made a thud.

"Old man Bennett, it's been so long".  

She said.

"Miss Cruz, even with the dim sight, I'll always be able to recognize you". He said in a gloomy but baritone voice.

"Oh my God! That's so...".

"Romantic". Celeste added in a low tone.

Xayne grabbed her neck from behind and she groaned.

"Give me a reason I shouldn't smash your face on the vehicle?". She inquired.

"It's damage proof". Xayne let go of her and they turned to the man.

"Um Principal were about moving back to the classroom?".

"You shouldn't be out when classes are on". He said.

"Yeah um.....". Celeste didn't know the right word to say as she looked around.

"Detention for the both of you, come with me". He said moving away.

"Seriously? He's still at Luna High?". Celeste inquired.

"I even thought he was dead". Xayne whispered.

"I can hear that, plus an hour". He said and they paused staring at each other.

"Only and only if I hadn't gone with you?". Celeste said as she dipped the mop into a mop bucket and pulled it gently.

"Only if you refused to take those pictures, maybe we would have narrowly escaped". Xayne said pushing the wheeled trolley after Celeste.

"It's your turn". Celeste said turning back.

"You haven't spent up to ten minutes".

"Well my waist is aching and I should remember you, it's your fault". Celeste said returning the mop to the bucket in the trolley.

"I prefer reading detention, read like your lives depended on it ". Celeste suggested.

" I hate reading ".

" You like working? ".

" Am a fvcking boxer well I once finished the entire books in Mrs. Brown's during a detention ".

" Is that an achievement? You went on detention because you broke the tooth of a fresher the first day at school after your parents death ".

" He asked me out, such disrespect for an 11th grade student like me ". She said letting go of the trolley.

"And you finished the books because you were a little bit okay not now psychotic maniac as you call it".

"I'll take that as a compliment". Xayne replied.

Someone cleared her throat and they turned to see a female student seated with legged crossed on a chair.

She had that largely round spec on which gave her that funny look.

"And a 12th grade student in detention also asked to supervise us, I'm gonna kill that old man with my bare hands". Celeste whispered.

 "I can hear you". She said.

"Just continue your reading Miss Donald Duck". Xayne cursed and she adjust her spec angrily.

The bell rung loudly for breaktime and they smirked.

They walked away and the student rose up quickly.

 "And who's gonna return this?". She asked.

"Tell that to your grandma". They chorused and swayed their waist walking away.

"It's been a hectic day". Kapella said walking out of the Cafeteria with Celeste as they gulped in the bottle of juice they held.

"You seriously call it hectic, we've only attended one class today, half apparently and the other was donated to detention ". Celeste argued.

" All because you're trying to make me better ".

" I'm your friend Xayne ".

" I know that but you're always gonna get into trouble because of me ".

" Yeah I know that but hish... Forget it, we should be in the next class ".

" Yep hoping I don't get into trouble before then ". Xayne said staring at the staring at the female student far away.

" Don't get into trouble with Miss Donald Duck ". Celeste urged pulling her away.

They arrived at the classroom and found way to their seats.

School was over for that day as the bell rung loudly with students trooping out of the various classroom.

"You didn't come to my fight last night". Xayne said coming out of the classroom with Celeste alongside other students.

"I told you I needed rest or maybe I predicted you were gonna get your tiny ass kicked".

"Did you just say tiny?".

"Did you hear large?".

"You're such a terrible friend, I looked around so I could find you screaming Xayne".

"Listen Xayne, you can't just jump into boxing and wish to win like magic".

"Are you saying I'm incapable of winning?".

"No, yes you can but you've been the easy going, no fighting all your life and then one night boom hahaha I'm a boxer". Celeste sang loudly.

"You're definitely not helping, I've been trying and training ". She argued.

"But you don't have the strength, it's just aggression".

"My biceps grew larger recently".

"So?".

"Hey!". Celeste's boyfriend said appearing from the crowd of students.

"Hey were have you been?". Celeste inquired as she stretched up to kiss his lips with his large palms on her shoulders.

"Busy all day". He replied retreating from her lips.

"I saw you mopping.....".

"Yeah. Detention". She replied.

"Hey Xayne". He said waving at her.

"Hi". She replied.

"I should drop you off". Celeste said.

"That's nice, I'll go grab my bag". He replied and left.

"Why the stares?". She asked Xayne and they continued moving.

"Each time you stretch to kiss him you long like a flexible band". Xayne said demonstrating with her fingers.

"Says a girl who has non". Celeste cursed and they almost bumped into into the 12th grade girl with big spec.

"Here you both are, Mrs. King wants those shit out of her office". She said raising her hand up.

"You can do the shit by yourself". Xayne snapped and made to walk past her but she pulled her back.

"You're gonna return to that office and get those shit out". She said angrily.

"Step aside". Xayne warned.

"C'mon Xayne". Celeste said holding her hand but she broke off.

"Don't try to stop me". She whispered and made to move past her again but she grabbed brunette hair.

Xayne turned back angrily and sent a punch straight into her face breaking her spec.

She retaliated almost immediately as she grabbed Xayne down.
