Arina’s POV

The morning was quiet.

The sun came through my curtains just right.

I stretched, feeling the aches from the past days looking after Kael.

It's tough, but those little moments when he seems to get it? Totally worth it.

Today, I decided I'd keep watching him, gently pushing him, and being patient.

I got dressed fast, put my hair up, and got ready for the day.

Downstairs, Kael was in the living room like always, book open.

He was sitting up straight, every move careful, staring at the pages like I wasn't there.

Okay, patience.

Morning, Kael, I said softly.

He glanced at me, then back to his book.

No words, just a tiny eyebrow lift. I smiled.

Even this little bit is something.

Breakfast was quiet.

Kael ate in his usual way, chewing carefully, hands neat.

I put a juice cup down and smiled at him.

He took it with a nod.

I held my breath a second, enjoying this tiny win.

These little things are big for a kid who barely talks or pays attention to anyone outside his routines.

After breakfast, I took him to get ready for school.

I wanted to try something different today to make it easier for him.

“Kael,” I said, “how about we pick your tie together today?

You pick the one you want.”

He stopped, touched the ties, and picked

one.

He didn't smile or talk, but he let me fix it for him.

That was like a little bridge forming between us.

In the car, Kael stayed quiet, looking out the window.

I watched him, seeing the tension in his shoulders, the little frown when we hit a bump.

I walked him to his classroom.

He didn’t say anything or look at me as he went in, but he didn’t fight it.

That was enough for me. Slowly, we’re getting into a rhythm—understanding each other without words.

Back at the house, I had stuff to do.

Maria left a list, but I kept looking at the gate, waiting for Kael to come home.

My days now have a quiet rhythm, all about him, his schedule, and being patient.

Around mid-morning, I wanted to make a treat—Kael’s favorite cookies, fresh out of the oven.

I set them up nice, thinking maybe this would get a smile or something.

When the car came back, Kael got out, like always, face blank. I said hi softly.

“Welcome back, Kael.

I made cookies for you. Thought you might want some.”

He looked at the cookies, then grabbed one silently.

I sighed in relief.

A simple thing—but he took one. For Kael, that could be big.

For me, it means I gotta keep being patient.

After his snack, we went to the living room.

I said how about we do puzzles and games.

Kael didn’t talk, but he helped, setting up pieces and looking at me to make sure I knew the rules.

“Kael, you want help with this part?” I asked, pointing to a tough spot.

He nodded a little. I gave him the piece, watching him put it in.

Then he looked up and mumbled, “Thanks.”

My heart skipped a beat.

That one word meant so much. He let me in, just for a second, and I’m not gonna mess that up.

The afternoon went by with quiet moments. Kael stayed reserved, not talking much, but I saw little signs he was getting comfortable—more relaxed, looking at me, even a little sigh when he finished something.

I paid attention to those things.

He's teaching me as much as I'm teaching him.

Patience, watching, respect—that's how to get to him, slowly, without pushing him to talk when he’s not ready.

Dinner was quiet, but a bit different. Kael let me serve him, and didn't fix the plate like before.

Small thing, but it meant a lot.

He was starting to accept me being there, helping him, and maybe even caring about him.

After dinner, I helped him get ready for bed.

He paused a bit when I brushed his hair, like he wasn't sure about it, but he didn’t pull away.

Letting me touch him, even for a second, was more important than anything he could have said.

“Goodnight, Kael,” I whispered as I tucked him in.

He waited a second, then said, quietly, like he was trying out the word, “Goodnight.”

My heart felt full.

That simple exchange was huge, even if it seemed small.

Kael had spoken without anyone asking him to.

He’d said something to me because he wanted to.

That was progress.

After leaving his room, I went back to mine, tired but happy.

Today was hard, but all those little wins made it worth it.

Kael was still quiet and kept to himself, but he was starting to let me in a little bit.

I thought about my dad and Ayla, and I felt determined.

This was why I was here—for them, and for Kael.

Every nod, every little bit of trust, showed that being patient and kind could break down even the strongest walls.

As I lay in bed, I promised myself I wouldn’t give up.

I'd keep watching, keep listening, keep respecting Kael, and keep showing him I cared without expecting anything back.

Slowly, I'd earn his trust, and maybe one day, he’d let me be more than just someone who's always around.

Because some feelings aren't about words.

They’re about being patient, paying attention, and being there, no matter what—even when it’s quiet all the time.

And in that quiet, I knew, little victories could mean more than words ever could.

Arina’s POVThe evening breeze was cool, gently swaying the flowers in the garden of the Bruce mansion. Kael lay on the grass next to me, gazing up at the sky and imagining shapes in the clouds drifting overhead. “Look at that one!” he exclaimed, pointing. “It looks like a bunny!”I chuckled softly. “A bunny? It looks more like a sleeping cat to me.”He scrunched his face in protest. “You always change what I say.”“I’m just teasing,” I replied, playfully ruffling his hair. “Okay, it’s a bunny.”Moments like these felt serene—almost too serene. They made me forget the worries that usually weighed on me: my father’s tired hands, the lingering debt, and the quiet sorrow of home. Here, surrounded by the fragrance of freshly trimmed roses and Kael’s laughter, the world seemed kinder.I didn’t notice Damon standing on the balcony until Kael waved excitedly. “Daddy! Come down!”My heart skipped a beat as Damon descended the stone steps with his usual grace, his dark shirt sleeves rolled

CHAPTER FOURTEEN, Soft SpacesArina’s POVThe morning light streamed through the tall windows of the Bruce mansion, creating golden patches on the marble floor. I moved quietly around the living room. My hair was tied in a loose bun, and my gown showed some creases from the morning rush. I had already made Kael’s breakfast, double-checked his school bag, and placed his shoes neatly by the door. The house felt calm, unusually calm, except for the faint sounds of the staff working in various rooms. Damon hadn’t come down yet, and I found myself glancing at the staircase now and then. Not that I was waiting, I assured myself, but Kael’s questions about his father had been coming more often.“Is Daddy coming down for breakfast?” Kael asked, nibbling on his toast.I smiled faintly as I set a cup of milk in front of him. “He might, champ. He’s probably just busy.”Kael sighed and swung his legs under the chair. “He’s always busy. But he talked more yesterday. Maybe he’ll come today too

  • The Nanny And The Billionaire’s Heart    CHAPTER TWELVE—THE QUIET BLOOM.

Damon’s POVThe morning sunlight spread lazily across the polished floor of Bruce Mansion, cutting golden lines through the silence. It was too early for laughter. Or so I thought until I heard it.Soft, clear, and faintly musical. It was Arina. Her laugh drifted from the living room, light as the morning breeze. I paused on the staircase, my hand resting on the railing, letting the sound wash over me. There was something about it—unforced, gentle—that softened the air around her. When I finally went down, I found her kneeling next to Kael on the rug. A coloring book lay open between them, and crayons were scattered like candy. Kael furrowed his brow in concentration as he carefully shaded a tiny sun in the corner of the page.“You missed a bit,” she teased, tapping the edge of the paper.Kael gave a little grin, small but real. “You missed one too.”The smile that lit her face spoke volumes. For a moment, I stood there—not the CEO nor the father guarding his heart behind cold wa

  • The Nanny And The Billionaire’s Heart    CHAPTER ELEVEN—THE SUBTLE SHIFT.

Arina’s POVThe morning sunlight poured through the tall glass windows of the Bruce mansion, filling the dining area with a warm glow. I had gotten up early to help Maria set the table. Kael insisted on helping too, carrying napkins and placing them—crookedly but with pride—next to the plates. When Damon Bruce walked into the room, his presence made everything else seem less important. He wore a charcoal shirt, with his sleeves rolled up to his forearms and his tie hanging loosely, as if he’d already been working. His eyes found Kael immediately, and something unreadable crossed his face.“Good morning, Dad!” Kael said cheerfully. For a moment, Damon just stared, as if the word caught him off guard. Then, slowly, a faint smile appeared. “Good morning, Kael.”It was brief but genuine.Kael grinned and pulled out a chair for him. “I helped set the table.”Damon’s eyebrows raised slightly. “You did?”I cleared my throat softly. “He insisted. He said it was ‘for practice.’”Kael nodd

  • The Nanny And The Billionaire’s Heart    CHAPTER TEN—THE PARK AND THE QUIET BETWEEN THEM.

Arina’s POVThe next morning was bright, with soft sunshine that slipped through the windows like liquid gold. I had just finished brushing Kael’s hair when he tugged lightly at my sleeve.“Arina, can we go out today?” His voice was quiet and hesitant, as if he wasn’t sure he could ask.I blinked and turned toward him. “You mean outside the garden?”He nodded, his brown eyes—those calm, guarded eyes—looking up at me. “To the park. The one with swings.”It was a small request, but my heart fluttered. The boy who barely spoke to anyone wanted to go out with me. “Of course,” I said, smiling. “Let me ask your dad first, okay?”Kael’s lips curved into the smallest smile I had ever seen from him. “Okay.”I found Damon Bruce in his office, sitting behind his desk as always, typing away. His sleeves were rolled up, showing his wristwatch and a small scar near his hand.He didn’t look up right away.“Good morning, Mr. Bruce,” I greeted softly. He hummed, his tone low. “Morning, Miss Dar

  • The Nanny And The Billionaire’s Heart    CHAPTER NINE—SOFT ECHOES.

Arina’s POV I woke up before dawn, the soft chirping of birds, the only sound breaking the stillness of the mansion. The early morning light barely touched the edges of my small guest room as I stood by the mirror, brushing my hair into a tidy bun. The air felt cold against my skin. For a moment, I missed the warmth of my tiny home, my father’s silent hum, and her sister’s laughter echoing down the hall. But this was her new life now.Every day, I reminded myself why I was here. I needed to pay my father’s debt. I wanted to ensure he no longer worked himself to exhaustion. I hoped to give my sister a better future. My heart steeled with that resolve as I stepped into the corridor.Downstairs, the mansion was waking up. Maria and the maids moved quietly, and the faint aroma of freshly brewed coffee drifted through the dining area. I found Kael sitting at the long dining table, his legs swinging beneath the chair. His small face still looked sleepy, and his hair was a soft me
