**Author's POV**

Today's training session was with Orlando, and unlike Jordan’s, it didn’t force Aiden out into the biting cold.

Instead, they sat inside a quiet, sealed room in the vacation home.

The heavy wooden door clicked shut behind them, muffling the distant crash of waves and sealing them in warm, still the air still smelled faintly of cedar and salt.

“How did you feel yesterday when you released your pheromone on your own?” Orlando asked, his voice calm and measured.

Aiden smiled, a

**Author's POV**Over the past two weeks at the vacation home, Aiden and Orlando’s sessions had not made any progress.Aiden refused to let his emotions show. Orlando refused to stop pushing. As always, Aiden stormed out of the room in a fury, the door slamming behind him with a sharp crack that echoed through the house. Orlando remained behind, eyes closed, fingers pressed to his temples as another migraine bloomed behind his eyes.Macmillan had offered to use his power, the Ink of Unmaking lime he loves to call it, to peer through Aiden’s defenses, but Orlando had rejected the idea outright.“The only way to help him is if he opens up himself,” he’d said quietly.“Maybe you’re going about it the wrong way,” Jordan muttered. They were gathered in Macmillan’s father’s study. “How else am I supposed to do this?” Orlando asked, frustration sharpening his voice. “I’ve been trying for two weeks. I’ve tried everything, and nothing works.”Jordan leaned forward. “Did you try talking to hi

Really good. Proud of myself.”“Did you try it again?”Aiden nodded. “More than once.”Orlando leaned forward slightly. “Good. Today’s session won’t involve any exercises. It’s going to feel more like therapy. One reason you still release your pheromone unintentionally is because your mind is constantly racing. You’ve buried a lot of things deep down, Aiden.”The easy smile on Aiden’s face faltered, then slipped away entirely.“You’ll hav

Four Weeks LaterAuthor’s POVThe school break had finally arrived. The boys had settled into Macmillan’s family beach house on a private island, where the crash of waves and the endless stretch of sand promised peace.Outside, the air was sharp and biting. A relentless wind swept across the open terrace, carrying the briny tang of the sea and the faint, wild cries of seagulls. Aiden had been standing out there for hours, and all he wanted was to escape back inside to the warmth. But Jordan wouldn’t let him. Jordan was his first instructor, he stood beside him, voice slightly muffled by the protective mask covering the lower half of his face. “Since your pheromones aren’t leaking right now, you need to learn to produce them on command, deliberately, not by accident.”“Jordan, how do you expect me to concentrate when it’s freaking freezing out here?” Aiden’s voice rose a few octaves, teeth chattering.“I’m standing in the cold with you, Aiden,” Jordan replied, his tone patient but

**Aiden's POV**The hospital doors slid open with a soft pneumatic hiss, releasing us into the cool morning air. A light drizzle had started while I was inside, and the city smelled of wet asphalt. I breathed it in deeply, letting the fresh scent wash away the lingering antiseptic sting from my nose. My back still throbbed with every step, a dull, hot pulse beneath the bandages, but I refused to show it.The car waiting at the curb. Orlando held the back door open for me without a word, his jaw still tight. I slid in carefully, wincing as the leather seat pressed against my injuries. Macmillan climbed in beside me, his large frame taking up most of the space, while Jordan took the front passenger seat. The drive back to school was quieter than I expected. I casted my eyes to the window, watching things passes like a movie, Macmillan’s knee would brush mine, warm and solid an accidental comfort that made something tight in my chest loosen.“You sure you don’t want the painkillers

**Aiden's POV**"So, are you guys going to tell us what happened in that bathroom or not?" Jordan asked."Aiden's pheromones leaked, and some man tried to molest him in the restroom," Macmillan explained bluntly."Fuck!" Jordan hissed loudly. "Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" I shook my head, of course he did but there's no point in saying so."But why did they leak today when they've been dormant for a month? And what did you do to the guy?" Jordan pressed."It must have been the sweat and physical exhaustion," Orlando replied from behind the wheel, his voice steady.I met his gaze in the rearview mirror. They'd made me sit in the back with Macmillan, and the cool leather of the seat pressed against my aching body. The faint, crisp scent of the car's air freshener mixed with the lingering trace of my own pheromones sweet and cloying, like overripe fruit. Luckily for them and me, I was the only one who can inhale my pheromone."I've been taking notes on Aiden's pheromones," Orlando c

Macmillan’s POVSomething wasn’t right, I could feel it.I didn’t know when the feeling started maybe when Aiden didn’t come back after the bartender told us he hasn't seen Aiden, maybe when the music got too loud and my chest felt too tight but it crawled under my skin fast and refused to leave.I scanned the crowd again, jaw tightening.“Where’s Aiden?” I asked, my voice sharper than I intended.Orlando frowned slightly, glancing around. “He was just here.”Jordan leaned back against the bar, unconcerned. “Probably still dancing. You saw him, he’s in his element tonight.”We had just stepped outside for fresh air, seeing Aiden dance had set something inside of me lose and I know the others felt it too.But when we came back I couldn't find him where we left him,I shook my head slowly. That uneasy feeling twisted harder.“I’m going to check,” I muttered, already moving before either of them could respond. The crowd resisted me, bodies pressing in from every side, the air thick with
