I keep my face neutral as he pathetically cries out in pain, but I am getting more annoyed with every second that passes.
It is clear he has been the one we have spotted over the past few months. So I don't need to worry about there being multiple fairies running around. But I am worried about the fact he has already turned over his information. She must have communicated with him as she did me in my dream, which means she abandoned this follower, probably to conserve energy. Opening portals seems to be a lot of work for her. He really isn't worth the effort. He appears to be weak in more ways than one—a perfect sacrificial lamb. But what does she plan to do with the information she has collected from him? And how am I supposed to push her to open a portal?
"Shut up," I order, and he shifts from screaming to just sobbing.
