‘What was the need to be so rude to her?’ My wolf gruffle, displeased with my behavior toward Sofia.

‘I don't want her to get any wrong ideas’ I walk up to the study table, and an envelope sits there.

Frowning, I stare at the written ‘For Carlos DeLuca’

I open it and pull out what's inside. My mouth turned dry to see the familiar picture. Along with it is a note.

‘I'm hoping this refreshed your memories’

My tongue filled with distaste as I saw the initial ‘J’ at the end.

Fetching the phone out of my pants pocket, I dial his number. He answered quickly as if he was waiting for my call.

“Carlos, you should've told me about your change of plans. It seems to me, you no longer want the truth hidden” There's a deep chuckle of mockery in his tone. I resist the urge to snap at him.

“What do you want?” I hissed between the words.

“You already have the answer to that”

“Give me a couple of days” I look over my shoulder, the door is still locked.
