Phoebe’s POV

Before I could say a word, a girl strutted towards him. Her platinum blonde hair flowed behind her as she swayed her hips. Her footsteps, graceful yet calculative, her striking blue eyes staring daggers at me. She wrapped her hands around him, a possessive gesture, marking her territory. I almost rolled my eyes, but the raw power radiating from her, held me back. “Eric, why are you here standing with our prey?” Her voice, soft like a beautiful lullaby, a stark contrast to the ice in her gaze. He didn’t say a word, just kept that annoying smirk which I wish I could slap off, his messy black hair falling across one eye. “I hope you last a day little bunny. It will be such a shame for something pretty as you to die before I could have my fun.” He patted my head gently, infuriating me further. With that, they turned, the girl’s hand now intertwined with his, as they strode into the school.

The sound of a bell ringing snapped me out of my thoughts, I ran towards a hall, following the crowd. The gathering of Alphas dominated me as my legs went weak, but the urge to avoid revealing my vulnerability was stronger. I could see three powerful figures standing on the stage; one woman and two men. The woman was very tall, her gaze as sharp as a hawk’s. “Dear troublemakers, today is the beginning of our tournament, where your strength and skills will be tested. The top five students will be rewarded and the finalist will be crowned as our Blood King or Queen.” She announced, her voice resonating with authority. The announcement was met with loud howls and roars of jubilations while i drown in my confusion.

I was directed to my hostel by a young woman. Pushing my door open, I saw a petite redheaded girl sitting on one of the beds, her face full of smiles with her beautiful hazel eyes. “You must be new here. My name is Sophia.” She said, extending her hand “Uhm, yeah I am. Nice meeting you,” I replied while shaking her hand. “I’m Phoebe.” She took a good look at me before asking “ So what did you do? What was your offense? I swallowed hard, raking my brain on what to tell her. I couldn’t bring myself to say it was because I couldn’t shift. “Seems like you did something really grave. Well, I was caught almost killing my step-sister. She kept annoying me and one day, I just snapped.” I understood her perfectly, how I wished I was strong enough to be able to do that . Before I could speak, the sound of a bell interrupted me. “It’s time to go to the school cafeteria. Come on, hurry up and change into your uniform.” Sophie said, handing me a set of beautiful white long sleeve shirts and red trousers.

The cafeteria buzzed with chaotic sounds of clattering trays and laughter. I navigated through the crowded space, my new uniform, an annoying spotlight as it hugged my curves. I took a deep breath, walking towards Sophie who sat at a table, waving at me. Just as I reached her, a leg shot out. The world tilted violently. A sharp yelp escaped my lips as I crashed hard onto the floor with my tray. A wave of eggs and fries cascaded down, splattering before a figure.

Everywhere became silent as a graveyard before a collective gasp swept through the room. I scrambled to my feet, a wave of heat flushing my face. “Oh please, I’m sorry! I cried out before looking up at the victim. He was an epitome of handsomeness. His silver hair was adorned with fries and scrambled eggs, which didn’t reduce his aura a bit. His sharp jaw tightened, his grey eyes flashing a touch of crimson. I knew then and there, I had messed with the wrong person.

For a brief moment, I saw something other than anger, a flicker of shock, but it vanished as quickly as it appeared. He wiped the eggs from his silver hair in a slow deliberate gesture, while never taking his gaze off me. “You’ve made such a mess,” he finally said, his voice, low and calm, yet it sounded so lethal. Immediately those words left his lips, low grumbles echoed, and I realized it wasn’t from him. A group of boys circled me, their faces filled with predatory gleam. It was obvious they received orders from him.

I swallowed hard, and before I could protest, one of them grabbed me roughly, his nails digging into my flesh as he dragged me to a more open place in the room. Two of the boys held my hands up tightly, while another one forced my jaw open. “Clean it up.” He ordered, not looking at me. Then he walked away, like what was happening had nothing to do with him. They mixed the spilled food with mud and pig’s blood before my eyes, then opened my mouth, shoving the grosteque mixture down my throat. Tears streamed down my face, my stomach chruning “Stop! That’s enough.” A voice tore through the room. Looking up, it was Eric, the green eyed boy who had saved me in the woods. My legs gave way, and I slumped to the ground.

Chapter 54 : The Journal filled with secrets Lucas’s POVIt had been two days. Two days without Phoebe. My wolf and I were losing it. Each second without her felt like I was breathing in fire. The room was as silent as a graveyard, the air thick with tension. “So what’s the plan?” Aurora asked.I sighed, my fingers pushing through my hair.“I-I don’t know.”“Eric did say the answers we seek lies with Mr. Grim Reaper,” John uttered.“Yeah. But the problem now is…how do we get it from him?”“Maybe we could ask…nicely?” John suggested. Before he could say more, Aurora shot him a disapproving look. “Try to think with your brain, not your butthole.”Their voices faded into nothingness, the thought of her invading my mind.I hadn’t slept. I couldn’t.Because everytime I closed my eyes, all I could see…was her. Somewhere out there, Phoebe was all alone. No. I can’t just fold my hands and watch. I have to do something. Mate!” Lucian howled. My stomach dropped. “Phoebe!” I called out, jolting out of my bed. “Lucas, I wish I could tell you. But I can’t.” Her voice rang in my head. The way she looked broken, as if carrying the world behind her shoulders. I knew she was hiding something. But I hope it’s not what I’m thinking. My door bursted open violently, Aurora’s flushed face coming into view. Her chest heaved, her breathing coming out as ragged gasps. “Lucas,” Aurora panted, looking like she just ran a marathon race. “Phoe..Phoebe…she’s gone.”Colour drained from my face. “What do you mean she’s gone?” I asked, standing up abruptly. “She’s no longer in the school.”My heart sank. “She told me she was leaving,” Aurora continued. “But I didn’t know it will be this soon.” “What?”“I’m sorry I didn’

A small smile formed on my lips as memories flooded my mind. The way she had placed her hand on her hip, pushing out her chest as if she had just created a masterpiece. “You’re impossible,” I had told her. “Yet you love me,” she replied, before jumping on the bed. My fingers brushed softly against the wall. Every corner reminded me of what I was going to lose. Eric sneaking through my window with that annoying smirk on his face. The way my face lit up at the sight of Lucas. Everything. My grip on the door handle tightened. Suddenly, it was difficult to breathe. The room felt smaller, as if it was begging me not to leave. With a deep sigh, I dragged my feet, walking away. The moment I stepped outside the school gates, my vision blurred. I couldn’t help but stare at the building one last time. Crimson Moon Acad

Phoebe’s POV“I think we should break up.” I regretted the words that slipped out of my mouth. But it was too late. I had already said it. Lucas's face was as pale as white sheet.“What did you say?”“You heard me loud and clear,” I replied.“I’m not saying we should break the mate bond,” I added. “I just want…space.” Each syllable made my chest ache and my wolf, Selene whine in my head, protesting rigorously. “Is this a sort of prank,” Lucas asked. “You know it’s not,” I whispered. The world narrowed to just us, the noise around me disappearing. The horrified stares. Derek’s groans. Nothing else mattered anymore. “Are you in a sort of danger?” He asked. “No.”“You’re lying.”“I’m not.”“For fuck sake, your heart beat changes every time you lie.”I swallowed hard. Damn mate bond. “Please, leave me alone.”Lucas stared at me like he couldn’t recognize the person standing in front of him. His jaw tightened. “Look at me and tell me you don’t love me anymore.”My throat burned.

She sat quietly on the edge of my bed, her gaze boring a hole through me. “Hope you’ve said all your goodbyes,” she said, her voice devoid of any emotion. “We leave tomorrow evening.” My chest tightened. The word “tomorrow” rang over and over in my head. The atmosphere in the room dropped, feeling suffocating. My gaze drifted unconsciously around the room. The memories Aurora and I had shared. My first kiss with Eric. This place had become my home. And now I was leaving it behind. “Okay, Felicia,” I nodded. She tilted her head. “You don’t look happy.” “Of course, I am,” I replied with a smile that didn’t reach my eyes. “You shouldn’t grow attached,” she murmured. “Once you do, it will become your weakness.” “Is that why you left me and dad?” I snapped, clenching my fist. Her body stiffened, obviously caught off guard. “Nonsense,” she retorted, something unknown flickering in
